There's exceptions to the courtroom (so-to-speak), for example. My dad invented Carbon Monoxide Detectors in R&D @ Kidde Fenwal in 1983. I got into a BAD wreck in 2003 street racing, got brought up on BIG charges & they wanted to make examples out of my friend that I was racing against & I. So my dad got a lawyer who came outta retirement to take my case & he walked in the courtroom & the Judge gave him a big hug & said "it's so good to see you" & he told me what to say & [BANG ] case dismissed
hahaha, one of the funniest parts of this scene's when Peter Blunt (Randy Quaid) starts talking & he asks "Which one of you is Chandler Young's son?" & then the camera shows both of the other lawyers & 1 of the lawyers is like 70 years-old & the other one is like in his late 20's...
@nicklebackfan I think that if lawyers acted like that, the judge would hold them in contempt though, & contempt is one of the few things, where a judge can hold someone in contempt without having to state cause, & can keep someone in jail under a contempt until further notice...lawyers kinda can't act like that...but a Made Mafia guy can have a witness thrown off of a skyscraper or in front of a train, etc...
@IMaDEM0N I know they couldn't do it in court, but it would be cool if they could use a "stick" in private to settle things with arrogant and pompus individuals like this. But that probably would get them in trouble as well. Wishful thinking, I guess! :-)
It's really too bad the rest of Caddyshack II wasn't this good. My recommendation- just watch the parts where Randy Quaid's character, Peter Blunt, shows up. This scene is a classic, all by itself...
RIP Robert Stack (1919-2003).

I wish more lawyers operated like Mr. Blunt! I think the legal system would actually work better.
