  • Get over it its been over 100 years no tribe remember's of has lived as savages since you should thank us

  • @1974backwoods You are of a school of no culture. Your God is only money, war, and bigotry. I thank God I know who I am and who my people remain to be today. It is a European thought that the past fades away, that is why they continuously war against others. When the brainwashed, culture-less, Godless barbaric European's way fades, the first people will rise again on the land God set aside for them.

  • Do we pay the Japanese money? Do we pay the Germans money? No.when you win a war its over...and if you want to go back go after the Spanish they started it all

  • Tribes are as sucessful as their tribe's people. A group of negative people will breed negativity. Grandma Amy, before she married Mr Atkins, did this as a powerfull voice for the Kootinai people. She was young then and had the belief that they were entitled to a few comforts for giving up all their land and how they lived. What my family has made of themselves, should be comended. And Grandma Amy a Great woman in Kootinai History. Pray her comon sence gives her body up and be our spirit guid

  • 8:16....toll booths! why not do that on all tribal lands ? a tribe in Brazil does that, and tribal cops patrol that jungle highway!

  • @acerb45666555 who pays for the federal and state highways that pass through reservation lands??? TAXPAYERS DO!! theres my fucking toll right there! good luck trying to stop my cummins to collect a toll. how about indians take care of, and fund EVERYTHING on their reservations, including roads/highways, schools, utilities, etc. then you can collect your fucking tolls.until then, know your place.

  • @idahochas ..........they are quite capable of running theyre own show. but government suppresses the real leadership. so only twits are on the government approved band councils have any power. twits who like handouts for building big fancy houses while everyone else lives in drafty pre fab shacks!

  • @acerb45666555 "they are quite capable". really? every reservation ive been through is a complete shithole. and trust me, we have a few in idaho. ".....everyone else lives in drafty pre fab shacks!" i dont doubt this, because very few of them even work!! they EXPECT the govt assistance/handouts. regardless of your race.....you need to provide for yourself and/or your family. i get sick and tired of listening to how the "white man" fucked them over. it happened. get over it and move on and upward

  • @idahochas .....you have to look beyond what you see to the deal goin on behind the scenes. so i introduce you to John Trudell. his is the voice that wants to advance! but the government, and government natives,(Scouts!$!), hold back this progressive element. because, as in the past, resources and land are a big factor in all this mess!..................footenote: the progressive natives i met despise the lazy twits you mention.

  • @idahochas ..ps: listen to>>"Buffy St. Marie-Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee"

  • Idaho?? i thought all Kootenay lived in the BC mountains just nearthe Alberta border......you guys had a fight with Kainai once,(read it in a book), on turf they claimed for hunting, that means you were once living north of Idaho! at least one band was that far north!

  • @acerb45666555 their lands encompas Bonnersferry Idaho as well as parts of Canada.

  • I never really understood Native Americans until Idaho History in 4th grade. We had to do a few history reports and I chose to do one on the Nez Perce tribe. After doing a lot of research I came to realize how great the Native American heritage was and found the information I received from the tribe was great.

This is a great documentary video. Great piece of history and information. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  • Thanks for making this documentary it will help our children learn what their ancestors had to go through so they could have an identity. Don't let the bigotry of racist people distract you from what's really important, the future of your people. There will always be people who think the indigenous people's of this country aren't owed anything. That is their opinion.

  • And I still get to pay for someone elses mistakes while our red freinds sit back and havem' another brewsky and get paid a ton of money, with no job,and 15 wrecked cars in the front yard. No I'm not racist, in fact I have a lot of Indian in me, but mostly German and Swedish, during the cowboys and Indians days most of my family was in germany!

  • WHAT IS FORGOTTEN is that indians were warring peoples. as they migrated from asia to the americas they murdered and drove of groups that were here before them.

    .

we are not talking about effeminate men happily skippy merrily across the land picking posies

    .

why do indians forget the atrocities that they commited?

    .

no matter what the U.S. government provided it was far more humane and generous that indians bestowed upon their enemies which was murder, torture and atrocities

    .

  • @curatrix2008 The things you say are lies. You were not there. You believe lies, written in books, like lies in the moveis made in Hollywood.

Indians history is told by the elders of tribes,,while the entire tribe, young and old are present. In this way, the truth must be told. This is how our history is passed down. The only killing was done for self defense. Their were no peoples here when Indians migrated over...Indians were the first.

  • @saharra22469 yes the first group was the first but many followed and they didn't war for self-defense only your own history tells you that - layers upon layers of different groups driven out.

    .

you make up bullshit and ignore your own violence and cruelty - be brave enough to at least embrace the truth yourself

    .

tell me your men were not warriors

tell me your men didn't learn war

    .

anther prophecey after the event takes place hahaha

  • @curatrix2008 I do not make up "bullshit" nor do I lie. The only indians that were violent warriors were tribes such as the Commanches, the Arrapaho.

The Aztecas further South were cannabuls, ate their won children. Indians further north, closer to what is now Canada, Alaska and North America were not cannibuls.

You are quite obviously prejudiced. You hate Indians and just want to argue about how unworthy you believe they are.

  • @saharra22469 You are quite obviously a liar and whiner and want to pretend that you had no violence in your culture. You know that is not true.

    .

So state it clearly you never warred with any other tribe ever.

Your men did not know how to fight and did not have weapons

    .

    Now try that again

  • @curatrix2008 You obviously have mental problems, anger, jealousy, hatred...I don't know or care ...

I am not debating more with you. You bring up that which we were not even discussing. Of course Cherokees had weapson and warred with other tribes...You miss the entire point. It was for self defense, for their territtory, for their families, thier food...

Now go fuck yourself....cuz you certainly aren't any good at comprehension.

  • @saharra22469 yes you drunken res liver, and you lost to whites

it is the same thing so shut your drunken piehole and clean up the res

  • Wow, I wish was in that tribe. Their casino pays out 2K per month each member and the US govt gives all kinds of grants. You can just smoke dope all day and not need a job.

  • you did a great job sonya congrates we need to remember and not forget our past thank you duane e saunders

  • Thank You, Awesome

  • wow

  • I would like everyone to know by mid June the film will be ready for public purchase... and it is a film that will leave many asking, "what can I do to bring about change in me first and then my community?" Sonya Rosario

  • Rest assured, with whats coming everyone is going to lose something... Their are levels of unrest that have reached a point to which ...their will be a conflict.

IT ism y sincere hope that when it is all said and done that the natives of this land will finally have their human rights acknowledged by whatever government comes next after this one fades.

  • Good For Her. This Country is always taking care of people outside of it's own boarders. We have people all over who have been here a very long time who need the countries help. Are there any other Tribes in the Idaho or surrounding area?

  • @SpiralUp1

Thank you for enjoying the trailer. It will be on Idaho PBS in April 2010. There are 5 Tribes in Idaho.

  • @sonyarosario I am not there. Do you know the names of the 5 Tribes?

  • @SpiralUp1 yes entitlements are very popular with minorities

it's easier than getting off your ass and making a life

it's easier than telling the people it's up to them

it's easier than holding them to personal responsibility

    .

the whining and blaming others justifies being drunks doing drugs raping women and children and rates of violence far above mainstream america

    .

there are many that have taken their life into their own hands and succeeded

but more that love playing victim

  • My heart is screaming inside!!!! Yea!!!!! I love this and this film! Congratulations, you bring us hope!

  • Isabel Bond would like Sonya to call her (208)882-7499

  • indians are being the true americans!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't wait to see how this is received at Sundance.

  • Awesome. I watched the film last Saturday. Sonya, that was awesome work. A story that needed to be told. I'm so proud of Amy, Muggs, and the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho. I hope all young people watch this and try to understand.
