You know something, I think Lord Shen would become friends with this little family, maybe more so with Twilight than Flynn. If it's possible, Shen might be able to help Twilight learn to control her magic a bit better.

@wintrarose My depiction of Lord Shen in the rp simply loves children, so there's the reason for that. Shen is supposed to be like that older brother people look up to. Besides, being a powerful Phoenix, he has a lot to offer if he does teach her.  Flynn though, he may try to get him to be a better father to his daughter.

@PrincessofBirds357 I'm fine with that. I think they both need somebody like that in their lives though there is one thing she's in the teenager/young adult range and she's imortal. So she's not a child. Will that still work for Shen to teach her?

@wintrarose Yeah, it would still work; and not just because of that. Shen is a Phoenix, which are reborn every time they die. So I guess he is immortal too, in his own way. And, come on, you got to admit that every girl has always wondered what it's like to have a brother at some point in their life.

@wintrarose Hard to say. I'm working with someone else to get the vids for Shen uploaded, and she decided to make a mini-movie instead of a short audition vid. She has three out of six of the chapters posted here and has yet to post the others since the last one shows him joining the Cirque. But, just for creativity's sake, did you mean what kind of situation causes them to meet?

@wintrarose Ah, just making sure. Maybe it could start off with Twilight sort of wandering around, and she comes across Shen while he's practicing his fighting style, so she stops to watch him. He notices her, they get to talking, and the fact that she has control issues with magic comes out. So he offers to teach her how to master her abilities.

@wintrarose I kind of had a feeling that's what she was going to do, keep her new friend from her dad. Most young people do that with their parents. I guess it makes that bond special when the friend is all yours for as long as possible or something like that.

@PrincessofBirds357 It's kind of a long story. First I looked up Cirque Mystique on DA. then I found the Hopper, Lilo, Belle, and Rapunzel pic, read the comments, and then after that it was taking a crack guess. The word bird also gave a hint.

@wintrarose Lol. Yeah, I'm a bird lover. When I first saw this rp, I got a great idea for it inspired by the Fenghuang (otherwise known as the Chinese Phoenix) and I just had to share it.

@wintrarose You're right about that assumption, he is older than Twilight and Flynn combined. He's even older than Dr. Facilier, who's supposed to be... over eight hundred years old according to the host of the rp. So Shen has been around for a long time, maybe before China started calling itself "the Middle Kingdom," and still going strong.

@wintrarose Huh. Yeah, I suppose so. Someone I know once said that a Phoenix retains memories of its past lives when it's reborn, so I guess him being among the wisest in the Cirque doesn't seem so farfetched to me.

@PrincessofBirds357 blush. I don't know much about phoenix's, but I guess that's true. What I was going on is with the older a person gets the wiser they become, or something like that.

@wintrarose I get it. I started doing some research on my subject when I conceived the idea for the rp, just to get it right. And yeah, the elderly are respected for the knowledge they've gained over the years.

I kind of noticed that there are some character relationships that are like family though we know they're not related. It almost makes me wonder if that's what we we've got going on with Shen and Twilight.
