  • Another great adventure, who needs holiday home if we can get that. Thank You for Your response. I found Your channel at winter and start research, especially about colorado canoe. I found that those boats are bad in cross winds, as You mansion in this video. You could use side fins for stability, that move up when they hit river bed. They would provide stability in straight line and cross winds. Just something i found when researching.

Thank You for inspiration once again

  • @mawic1 Thanks for your feedback. Have considered stablising device in the past, it's great if you don't have too much portageing in and out the water and not much kit to transit otherwise one would spend more time & effort out of the water than in - moveing the stuff about. I must admit if I were to navigate in real tempest waters I'd use a hard shell canoe as they track more safely. I think I would still consider what you say here for maybe a project in the future :-) All the best!

  • @MINDWISEMAN Thanks, and i didn't think about added complicity. I gathered wast amount of gear since i got hooked up on Your channel. Used it mostly on walking trails, sometimes carrying 20kg backpack just for few kilometers, because i could not decide what to leave behind. I am working on my friend now, to get on water with me :) so thanks for advice and wait for another adventure.

    cheers

  • @mawic1 If you can take the load and the distance on trail physically then it's good to take what you want, then from experience and item preference it can start to reduce to what you actually like & need - hence reduce weight and volume. "Be out there and be safe" ....even better times to come :-)

    All the best

  • hi mate do u have to pay to take your boat on the rivver there or is there a licence, i have a harbd bottom inflatible and it looks a good place to go

    . shaun

  • @Shaun160668 In principle you need a waterways licence to navigate on the only public accessable 2,500mls of the total 40,000mls of British waters. Info' From British Canoe Union. "Put in" onto the rivers is the main consideration - as and where you can find places, plus non tresspassing. Cheers.

  • Great videos, I was looking forward to them. Thanks for posting

  • @jahhmin Thanks for your anticipation and comment. Cheers.

  • Love these videos. Your channel is my favourite on Youtube. You spend lots of time on the water near to me. I live in Reading and do my Bushcraft in Sulham woods. On my long treks I walk from Reading to Pangbourne sometimes through the woods sometimes along the Thames tow path. I also love Henley on Thames mentioned in this video.

  • @byronlegend You've highlighted some great places to be outdoors especially as you live near to them - result! Hey and thanks for favouring my channel, much obliged. "Be out there" Cheers.

  • Another nice video with useful information. Thank you. A while ago I bought some of the complimentary airline wash kits that are given out to business travellers. There were a number of useful items, miniature toothbrush and small tube of Colgate. There was also an eye mask for sleeping that is very effective. There are a number of them on ebay. Search for "airline amenity" and a number will come up. I only paid a few £s for the ones I bought. The bags are really useful too. (check age though).

  • @tokenminds Thanks for your interest. Good suggestion about those little kits, it's good to be thinking of what you can do with stuff beyond what it's originally used for, nice one. Will check them out. Cheers.

  • Enjoy watching your videos ... looks like a great little site. Fine looking beast to spend time with in the woods!

  • @RallohE Thanks. Yes it's a great base camp away from normal terrain, dog loves it to, for her it beats the average dogs walk in the park. Cheers.

  • Outstanding stuff Pete, man not only are the trips looking really cool but it's neat to see your camera & editing skills evolve..we're looking forward to part2..I hooked my laptop to my big screen and we watched this vid as a family:

My wife: Great job on the video, really beautiful country, looked tranquil

10 y/o daughter: I think the way you set up camp was cool and I like your dog

9 y/o son: Your canoe is very cool, I would love to fish that river

5 y/o daughter: I love your dog and canoe

  • @AdventuresWithDad You've taken me to the level of "family home screen cinema entertainment" lol. Really nice to hear you got the kids involved..all be it after they were champing at the bit to drag you out and go do outdoorsy stuff :-) I'll give them a thumbs up ( and you and wife) and Akasha will dog paw and tail wave next time we're out. Really appreciate the content of your comment buddy. Cheers to your family.

  • All your vids are are really excellent. Thank you so much.

  • @redrocco44 I really appreciate....your appreciation :-) Cheers.

  • @Alfox94 Thanks Brad & cheers.

  • looks like you had a bit of fun over the weekend ,great setup i managed to get out a week ago and had a great time to forgot my cam and mobile ,so i couldnt do vid for here .

  • @hunterkiller45 Hey m8 it's good to hear at least you got out, nice one. Cheers.

  • the bannock mix,,would it be easyer to mix it up be for you leave the house,,thanks again for vid,,

  • @saswales Thanks for viewing. Any dry food keeps for longer (2 months + depending on ingredients) providing it's well sealed. Adding water to any mix and letting air get to it will contribute to bacteria and it degrading i.e. going off/rotten in a few days unless kept at fidge type temperatures. Plus it's easier to carry, store and portion out as and when needed if kept dry. Cheers.

  • @MINDWISEMAN nice one,

  • nice one keep them coming,,

  • @saswales Cheers m8.

  • Nice one Pete. Funny to hear you talking about paddling in the wind. Most people don't get how hard it is. Quite different in a bigger canoe loaded up then in a little White water boat. Good tarp set up as well. I'm going camping this weekend on the west coast of Scotland. Will post a video. Can't beat it. Great fun.

  • @nathanshepherd1 You're right there, I know of a few peeps who took up canoeing with a real romantic easy going atttitude, which of course is ok, but sometimes it aint as simple as a stroll in the park so they lose a bit of interest. West coast of Scotland, nice one, anywhere near is it called Cape Wrath? or Cape something, very wildernessy and challengeingly unpredictable weather patterns. Anyways hope it goes well.

  • Great camp setup Brother. Looks like you had an awesome trip. Always enjoy watching your float trips! Heading off to part 2......

  • @intenseangler Thanks for your feedback and likeing what I do. Hope you enjoyed part 2. Cheers.

  • Propper wildcamping puts my idea of it to shame, great tarp setup again and the extra fire shelter, you must have quite a weight of gear and the food love to experience it mine never go more than one night, great views from the canoe with the dog lapping it up.

  • @daveswildcamping Thanks for the comments Dave. Quite a bit of kit with food and sundries, if I can carry vaired scoff then I like to eat well and not feel confined to over priced naff tasting travel packed meals. Hey m8 at least you are getting "out there" in any weather and terrain pretty regular, more than most.... and cooking a shed load of proper food on a hill top - steak :-)

  • Another great voyage Pete, fantastic area, always get good tips from your videos too, nice set up, looking forward now to part 2.. :-))

  • @007vauxhall Thanks Paul!!

  • Nice to see you been out again Pete. Now going to watch part 2

What is the name of the music you chose for this?

    Rob

  • @RDPproject Hello m8, thanks for fav' and like etc. Music I think is called "02 nother day". I think the i.d. has been flagged by YT near the info panel below view screen. Pete.

  • great vid - enjoyed it a great deal

  • @OkieJohn1950 Thanks for your likeing, cheers.

  • Hello and thank you for another lovely video. And thanks for sparing us the aerobics parts for the nice and relaxing camp. Maybe you could use a sail next time : ) Loved how you used the branches through the tarp eyelets, very clever. Hopefully we'll see you soon! : ) Sara

  • @saradreaming And 3 and 4 now raise your hands in the air and jump on the spot, 10 press ups now jump back up and 5 and 6 grapevine and march on the spot................and rrreeeelax :-) Thanks for the comments Sara. I have in the recent past checked out canoe sails that fix to the canoe like a circular screen to catch the breeze...one day maybe. Hope you enjoy part 2. All the best - Pete.
