I couldn't find any chocolate wafers so I made this pie with the "Crust Never Sleeps" recipe. I blind baked the crust for about 20 mins@350 the finished it off like he does. Came out very well.

Hmm, I wonder if you could add a little baking powder to the pie filling to turn it into a cake of some sort. Will have to put that on my to do list.

@weaver2109 I highly doubt that that would work. You'd need a massive amount of leavening to turn something that fatty and dense with no gluten into a cake-like product.

If you do try it let me know how it goes.

Replace that nasty chocolate crust with a graham cracker crust and use milk chocolate instead of semi sweet chocolate in the ginoche (spelling?) and then it might be good eats.

@zwithgol I'm going to go out on a limb and say you are wrong here. Bitter sweet goes very nicely with the salt present in the peanuts filling, and the crust is pretty much a chocolate flavored graham cracker crust.

You must learn to VISUALIZE the flavors mixing with each other before passing judgment!

@asdfrozen Actually no on both accounts. I just can't stand anything bitter, except coffee which I only drink with cream and sugar. Otherwise that is nasty too. I hate olives for the same reason.

This looks very good but it's the first peanut butter pie recipe I've ever seen that didn't call for cream cheese to be mixed in with the peanut butter filling.

Man, I don't know what I'd do if I had a peanut allergy. My heart goes out to those of you who do have one.

I made the peanut butter pie for Thanksgiving and it turned out great. A touch sweet, but hey, it was dessert.
