  • I feel you nutn man I just sent back a kimber and those idiots lost it and try'd not to send gun or cash said it was my loss assholes man the Hell with kimber I bought Sig scorpion its sweet but it better run good I spent a grand on it

  • All 1911's have a break in period

  • I have an early Sig 1911. It is the GSR in SS. It would not function well with the factory mags. Functions 100% with Wilson mags. The factory mags have a different lip profile than the Wilsons. It is slightly different but it is different. Also, I needed to smooth out the feed ramp. This helped a lot. Thanks for the vids.

  • I was watching a vid on the sig scorpion earlier, and that gentleman was having mag problems as well. He switched to the Wilson combats and no probs! Ive also seen alot of other problems with their mags... Kinda of sad for such a pricey weapon!!

  • My sig tacops tb is coming next week with 4 mags and a skeletonized trigger from factory....can't wait!

  • hi nutn i have had my sig 1911 target version for several months and i have had only one failure to feed out of 800 rounds and that was due to a bad reload if you can you should send yours back to the factory and try the target version. keep up the good work!

  • By the way, My TO model came with 4 mags!!! don't know why you didn't run this test with the factory mags.

  • @PapaGlock83 agreed, it's not the gun, its the mag

  • @PapaGlock83 i was thinking the same, i was planning on purchasing the TacOps as well, then i chanced on this vid, I wonder why they don't review everything, off the factory, when they say it should be perfect out of the box.

  • High noon holsters - for sig 1911's. with rails too : )

  • Good video, but Mr John browning has to be rolling in his grave with all the garbage clone Copys, yet these fansboys would dare put clones over the colt? That's like telling browning how to make guns lol

  • Nutn - are you using a contour head cam when you are recording the other guy running the course, or a handheld?

  • Also if the bottom side of the extractor is sharp it will dig into the case and cause a f2f.. just knock that sharp corner off a tad so it don't dig in.

  • Get some 600 sand paper. Lightly polish the face and sides of the receiver and any rough on the chamber and no more jams. Had the same issue with mine... when the machine marks would bite into the casing and cause the failure to feed. Polished out the machine marks and haven't had a failure since and I've put hundreds of rounds through it.

  • Seriously disappointing from SIG. I run a newer P226 9mm with the CNC slide and railed frame, and my wife has a W. German P226 9mm, both are excellent pistols...about 1000-1200 rounds through each (yeah I have a limited budget and I'm saving for a rifle) but they have been COMPLETELY FLAWLESS. I wanna like SIG 1911's but apparently they still don't have it just right. Can't gun makers just follow the rule "if it ain't broke don't fix it" ??? Serious points to you for calling them out!

  • My name on youtube is papaglock however; since I purchased A sig TacOps 1911 earlier this year, I may have to change that. This 1911 is by far the best looking, most solid feeling, straightest shooting, reliable pistol I have ever owned. I run a couple hundred rounds through it every other weekend. I thought I was seeing things the first time I shot it as the first 3 rounds made 1 big hole in my target @ 10 yards.

  • @PapaGlock83 Glad to hear this. I plan on purchasing the Sig Tac Ops 1911 once I get my tax returns.

  • ...as in your case the kimber mags arent feeding well into the sig. With this suspision in mind i did the only logical thing, i purchased a ton of wilson followers and put them in all my mags. Now all my 1911's run with all my mags 99.9% reliable. Just some food for thought before you return it to Sig.

    "Glow In The Dark"

    -Radioactive

  • Just a personal Datapoint for you and my fellow TNP'ers. I personally have found that the 1911 platform regardless of manufacturer is magazine picky. In my case my chip mcormick's run flawless in my taurus and springfield 1911 but are garbage in my kimber warrior, as my kimber mags dont like the springfield. I believe alot of it is do to proprietary followers they put in these mags to increase round counts and how they react with the different impulses of different manufactured 1911's.......

  • I've heard that the guy who was running Kimber was let go and now head of SIG. Also I've shot a Kimber with factory provided mag, it jammed like once every 4 shots. IIRC it was double feeding.

  • It DOES seem to be getting better (reliability wise) as the testing goes on. Still unacceptably unreliable. Thanks for the testing Nutn.

  • im gettin the TacOps, reliability is top notch out of the box

  • Love the vids, but I laughed my ass off when you fell over. it certainly seems likely that one would eat it in that terrain but its still funny as hell.

  • sweet gun. looking forward to an update on a conclusion or resolution to the probelms seen

  • Nutn as for the trigger complaint you're having. This is not a fanboy post at all but the Sig GSR pistols are designed as duty carry pistols. While I agree Sig has been cutting corners for the last 10 years... the GSR has that dull finish to avoid excessive ugly when duty carried day in and day out, the trigger has a heavy pull, yet crisp letoff just for liability reasons. You wouldn't want to have a stressed police officer with minimal weapons training and a 5lb match trigger would you?

  • wait they are investigating last week? i dunno right now. cant delete... i don't want this influencing my current issue, delete please. muy uncle and best mate coming over right now. Think deleting would be beter man.

  • wait they are investigating last week? i dunno right now. cant delete... i don't want this influencing my current issue, delete please.

  • 8:30, he's fucking human yo, lol i just got invested by old bill nocking on my door for cleaning my file in my own back yard watch this vid at the same time. what they helj! they are looking at my safe! right now.. aus!

  • 8:30, he's fucking human yo.

  • ive noticed that if the company doesnt just do 1911s they dont seem to be the best always. idk maybe its just me. ex: sigs 1911, good gun, but isnt the best VS. my kimber that doesnt have any issues ever with any ammo i put through it. same story with my Ed Brown.

  • 12:19 "balls"... lol

  • Good stuff as always. Thanks!

  • colt defender in the trench?.......PLEASE, FANCY, PLEASE!....oh.. and a commander lightweight. Thanks in advance.......seen all your vids. Look forward to the new ones like a kid for saturday morning cartoons. You Rock.

  • picked up a new colt def. lightweight (100 year rollmark aluminum frame) and it was perfect out of the box. sights were right on (novak's).second group was a "Y"shaped 2in. 1 hole beauty at 7 yards. no lube, no adjustment, and NO PROBLEMS. knockin' down 8in. steel plates at 20 yards was easy. Out of the Box.

  • @cuprumcaput ps 100 rounds fired

  • When are we gonna see a tabletop or TW drill of the Ruger 1911?

  • how does the Taurus PT-1911 works in the trench drill ?

  • will we ever see a Wilson Combat 1911 in TWD homes

  • i would have expected more from sig in all honesty, still a great gun, but seriously i would have not expected problems from them.

  • the off hand shooting portion should maybe also be off handed reloading and manipulation as well? I would think this portion is to simulate the gun hand being injured or unavailable. If the gun hand was unavailable for shooting, it also be unavailable for reloading and manipulations. Just my two cents.

  • I enjoy your videos and reviews, but as I watch the video of your run drills I have noticed that when you are performing a mag change you just stand there. Its awesome that you do running drills but if your going to go that far, go all the way and find cover or concealment. At least take a knee as to make yourself a smaller target.

  • the extractor is not tuned and is too tight. check out STI's website for a video on how to tune and how to check extractor tention.

  • good video nutn and veri keep up the great work

  • how about that GSG/SIG .22 1911? Any opinions?

  • if the purpose of the gun is for self defense rather than competition, it should be tested with hollow points. 1911 have notoriously been known to be picky with hollow points as far as feeding is concerned.

  • So... What is the most reliable 1911 these days?

  • ALL 1911s HAVE A 250-300 ROUND BREAK IN PERIOD BECAUSE OF THE EXTREMELY TIGHT TOLERANCES ITS NOT BECAUSE 1911DESIGN IS FLAWED... IT JUST NEEDS TO BE SHOT

  • nutn why are you "testing" a $1000+ pistol.. c'mon in this economy most people are not going to buy one, no matter how good it is!

  • @NRAman123 well, for $1000+ it better be able to pass the test..

  • Yo nutnfancy, wut kind of pants does crocket have on?

  • Good ol' white box.

  • Did SIG ever say what repairs were done to the pistol?

  • Hey Nutn, how's the Blue Force Gear Speed pouches holding up so far? I see them in a lot of videos, waiting for the review since Shot show!

  • DUDE that is my loadout!! got your SOG and a SIG!! lol

  • I disagree that ANY gun should be 100 percent out of the box. Its a machine and like a motor vehicle engine, they do need an initial break-period. My glock 19 had a ftf in the first 50 rounds through it. It has seen over 4000 rounds since and has been 100 percent since the only hic-up. Nutn, get the TO model, the one with the threaded barrel. I have it and it runs all my cheap ammo.

  • Thinking about buying my first 1911, what do you thing about the Springfield LW operater with 5" barrel?

  • Listen, No gun is perfect. I can't believe what I am seing to be honest. my sig 1911 has run everything I have put in it. It even ran a .40 that was accidentally mixed in with my .45 ammo. I think you got a lemon from sig. It could happen from any company.

  • I thought for sure C20 was gonna say it was because of the rail, as to why it wasn't doing good for him. Maybe he wasn't close enough to the cone.LOL As a side note YouTube has been being screwy. I just got this last night and it came out last sunday. Dang. I was starting to get the jitters.LOL

  • why dont you try a rock island 2011 1911 tactical. they go for about 600 bucks and from what i can tell they are really good. please do a review on one

  • Hey Nutn, is that the only Sig 1911 you have been shooting? Looking into getting a Sig Carry Scorpion.

  • It seems Sig has let their quality slide a bit. They're still great guns but like said, they should be 100% out of factory. Sig also put their name on their Sig 22-1911, a dedicated .22LR 1911, which is not made by Sig directly, like a sister company, GSG in Germany, GSG 22-1991 is imported by ATI and have had several problems and for some reason Sig did the same. I've had my Sig 22-1911 for several months had have has a guide rod break, FTB and stove pipes and failure to feed a round.

  • @soldier715 Agreed on all points. I also here from my buddy TNPResearch that they're changing the P200 series over to a MIMed extractor, changing a proven design. There is a Sig 1911-22 in TNP and it has been running mostly well. But you're right, it's a GSG gun with the Sig name slapped on it.

  • I wouldn't say that an accurized 1911 (whch I assume the sig is) should have to be 100% reliable out of hte box, no matter the brand. Polymer frame semi autos like Glocks, HKs absolutely, but I don't know about 1911s

  • @nutnfancy WHY would they do that..they saw what happened to glock..i guess id better pick one up before they start .

  • @soldier715 he was obviously using a mag that the 1911 didn't like, all of the other mags worked, i think it was just the mag.

  • As the late great Bob Marley would say: you be jammin'.

  • Very interesting data point. I think with all the hiccups, I might try and stick with newer pistol designs, especially since my duty weapon will be the Glock. All of our instructors carry 1911's, but their battery of arms and problem/solutions seem very different from the glock. Not saying anything is wrong with the 1911, but for simplicity sake for myself in learning new systems. Thanks for sharing, Nutn!

  • @ArmedVegan Great commentary as usual AV and agreed.

  • has the 1911 had over 600 rounds threw it? i know my kimber was picky the first frew hundred rounds. now its 100%.

  • @shadowwolf3666 Wow, 600 rounds is a LONG break in and one I would never sign off on, especially with a full sized service pistol. That's a bout $216 too just for break in...ouch!

  • @nutnfancy kimber wont even talk to you until after you brake it in, and 600 is only a few weekends for me. during the brake in i had 13 fail to feed/not going in to battery. as i ran more rounds fewer malfunctions. it was probably broken in after 300, only malfunction i have after the brake in was 1 bad primer. 1911s are cut fairly tight out of the factory and the ramps are not polished up yet.

  • @shadowwolf3666 Roger that but I will maintain that's a little lengthy. I have to say if I'd seen that in my testing I'd been sending it back to Kimber. In over 600 or so rounds fired with a S&W 1911 I saw 1 or 2 failures to go into battery. That's it.

  • Love 2:31

  • @Nutnfancy I know from experience that you run into serious issues when you run steel cased ammo and then run brass cased ammo. The reason, as you probably already know is that steel doesn't expand fully in the chamber causing carbon to build up which creates a tighter chamber...thus a stuck case. Is it possible that the sig 1911, with aluminum case ammo shot first, is jamming due to the same issue? Especially since they are alot more sensitive then most combat pistols. Either way that sucks...

  • @TheSquirrel1986 Hmmm, I will consider that on next run. The good news is that it seems to be 100% on last outing after return from factory.

  • dude... nutn... no new videos in 3 days?? what gives?? jk :)

  • ★★★★★

  • 1911 is faster than 9-1-1

  • as always great vids

  • dude where do you live

  • @geoff630 Minnesota

  • @nutnfancy nice

  • another 1911 i would love to see compared to this is the ed brown special forces.

  • Why would you insist the gun needs to be sent back when the problem is clearly narrowed down to one or two magazines, which of course, happen to be those sheisty 10 rounders? If you don't understand the concepts behind a 1911s extractor tension, magazine catch, presentation angle of the feed lips and spring rates, maybe you're better of sticking with something that requires less knowledge of the user. Like Larry Vickers said "If you treat your pistol like you treat your lawnmower, get a Glock."

  • @b9mm Totally disagree with your comment and you sound like an elitist: "The 1911 is an expert's gun and if you don't understand its required special care then you unqualified to shoot it." You can spew that idiocy on your forums but not here chief. This is a new out of box Sig 1911 and to say that it requires special changes of "feed lips, mag catch" and needs special mags is lunacy. Maybe you missed the part about how that Kimber runs 100% in other 1911s tested here. Back to the forums...

  • #2 mag might be sideways insertion slammed home hard which partially activated the slide release which slows the slide which equals common out of battery! gee nutn we love u but this is well known stuff! thanks for every thing u do ! check slide stop clearances inside gun and check the height inside!

  • As nutnfancy has said often, sometimes you get a bad gun, if you have a bad gun though, the manufactorer should have the want and urge to fix it's problems. To all who say their gun runs great, the magazing is to blame, the ammo is to blame, he is showing that that one gun has problem with the same combination hes used many times before.

  • @CookieMonsterCo In the 1911, whether or not the ammo & magazine combo worked in another gun has no meaning whatsoever. There are many factors in 1911s that will make one pistol perform better with a certain mag, whereas another one will refuse to function with it. It's not like a Glock where there is ONE gun manufacturer and only ONE mag source. There are tons of manufacturers of both 1911s and 1911 mags. This introduces many variables. A lot of folks clearly don't understand this.

  • @MrVideoh That's true, many major companies make the 1911 so there are different quality control differences because you can"t make a firearm run perfect for every magazine, ammo brand, or situation and it could have easily been the combination of many things like a sub-par ammunition combined with the low tention of the 10 round magazine and the very stiff guide rod spring, but I'm saying is atleast the manufacturer should want to look into the problem atleast to save their reputation.

  • @CookieMonsterCo Dude you get it, some others here do not and they are acting as apologists for the "1911 intricacies." I will maintain that quality mags, which these Kimbers ARE, should run in a quality NEW 1911. What they're saying is that to get your gun 100% it will be an ongoing and special project where $100s will be spent on investigating that Lucky Charm combination where you can, after 100s of hour spent, get your gun running. That's stupidity and one I will not buy off in 2011.

  • @nutnfancy I would not buy into that. I believe with how much is spent on a quality gun of any kind, there should be also a standard to maintain their own reputation. SIG is a top brand, you pay top price for their product, you should also get top service without puting out nearly a quarter of the price of the gun it's self to get what you should have had brof the box. This is not a used gun with wear.

  • from the box*

  • @CookieMonsterCo That's exactly the thing. It seems that some of the posters (but perhaps not the maker of this video) acknowledge the problems induced by multiple manufacturers and their magazine designs and tolerances & dimensions of things like the magazine catch, slide stop lobe, spring weights, etc. Testing a pistol for carry is a 500 round affair. In the case of the .45 ACP 1911 pistol, it is an expensive endeavor. One can either accept it or move on to some other type of pistol.

  • @MrVideoh I see both sides of the argument, but then there is still the wild card that THAT gun could still have a hiccup and it is an expensive endeavor maybe, but IF that gun is have a problem, then it shouldnt be at purchasers expense to find it. They already spent the money for the fire arm, it's relatively little cost to provide excelent feedback and service from the SIG if they build a company name of trust.

  • Those are mag issues, not gun issues. 1911's especially don't like every mag. Get Wilsons and stick to them.

  • @saskcopq TNP has every major brand of magazine for the 1911 and this gun has been run with them. Wilsons are good but so are the others, like like Kimber, Chip McCormick, MecGar) we have found with 1000s of rounds shot.

  • I have the Sig 1911 xo. Have had no problems what so ever with the Sig mag. Even with Shit ammo.

  • rofl at 8:16

  • More sig 1911 junk

  • I am torn between the Sig 920 or sig 1911. I would really like to hear you opinion... five up like always by the way

  • If you are shooting virtually all hardball in a 1911 you should try the checkmate Mil-spec 7rd. mags. Most of your wilson, kimber, McCormick etc. have parallel feed lips and are geared toward wadcutters and flat nose bullets. The checkmate Mil-spec ones have tapered feed lips just like the old original design colt mags that John Browning specified. However they are recommended for hardball only. I have found in my kimber they make it cycle much smoother, No Ka-chunk feeding anymore.

  • @RockYourGlock Thanks for the input. However all other mags have run pretty good in the Kimber, S&W, Springfield, and Taurus 1911s tried.

  • every gun should be 100% out of box.

what would you do if you brand new car only started once out of every 5 tries.

or the zipper didn't stay up on you new $300 jacket.

or the paramedics defib unit only worked every other time.

chances are if someone is buying a handgun it's because their life might be on the line.

    enough said.

  • @TheBushnut There's nothing in this video that proves that the gun is at fault. If anything, it shows that the gun doesn't like to run on crappy 10 round magazines.

  • @TheBushnut THANK YOU, I agree. Now if the manufacturer admittedly warns special combinations of ammunition and magazines are needed for reliability (Kimber Solo) then all bets are off if you deviate from that formula. But this is 2011 when CNC consistency prevails, tons of data on mistakes made in previous versions abounds, and quality control has long been established. When a mfr discards this data and slaps out something unreliable from box, I will call them on it...to get it right.

  • @TheBushnut Agree fully. -.-

  • @TheBushnut yes , just simply yes

  • The 12 dislikes were from people that work at Sig....

  • Tip for Gear Junkie's shooting... TRIGGER FOLLOW-THROUGH!! Squeeze -> Hold to rear until sight picture comes back -> THEN reset for the next shot

If you have a good grip and good isometric tension, this can all happen very fast. Hit me up with questions.

  • could you please make a video of the parts that actually touch the bolt and make it rotate on an AK or a gas-piston AR

  • There's 4 obvious things any 1911 guy should know that would identify/address the issues. #1 Check extractor tension. You do know how, right? #2 Just b/c a mag worked in other guns doesn't mean it will work in this gun. All 1911s are special in this regard. #3 Mags over 7 rounds will require stronger springs than normal. The further away your get from the 7 rd capacity, the more of a gamble it is for function. #4 Using a 2lb heavier recoil spring prevents FTRTB when the gun is hot & dirty.

  • @MrVideoh or, you could just sell it and buy a glock

  • @GlockCarry Not really. Last I checked, Glock has a recall on Gen 4 pistols, and even the newest Gen 3 pistols are having problems with extraction traced back to problematic extractors. Even Glocks are not a sure bet these days.

  • @MrVideoh A-effin-Men!

  • @NicholasinHD. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Personally i found the vid interesting. But i love all gun vids. Shooting or review.

  • Great run but that's really crappy that it was failed as it did SEVERAL times. Even MORE so that it actually cost YOU to have them fix THEIR issue. Makes me wonder if buying a Sig is worth it if there are troubles with it...hmmmmmm. Then again, I've never had to return my Glock or any other firearm, so I don't know if they would charge me for service work either...

  • Dude, that offhand standing has to be a b*tch

  • Bad timing with the Penn State hat, dudes!

  • @TheCounter005 More like the other way around... Cr0cket was BORN with that on his head! lol

  • I had a springfield loaded that wouldn't shoot ANY hollow point with any magazine. springfield got a phone call post haste. they asked me if I tried a different magazine besides the factory ones. I said excuse me shouldn't your firearm work with your magazines? I had tried wilson, chip mccormic, springfield any that I had. I was a tad annoyed. they fixed it but I just the thing. I am a huge springfield xd/xdm fan so I have nothing against them lol.

  • booooorrrring, im gonna go kill myself.

  • Thats why you run wilson mags! Have same gun in stainless finish, 5,000-6,000 rounds fired and only one failure, a stovepipe! Have many 1911's , but my sig would go to battle with me

  • lol tactically switching rounds to another mag

  • How cool....a TWD with a SIG 1911. I am so glad you ran this drill with a Sig. I have been looking that the Sig 1911's and wondering about their reliability. Very nice Sig and you guy's did a great job on the drill. Thanks for doing this video. Very well done.

  • @xtremearmor This is in no way a representation of how Sig 1911's are overall. I have 2 Sig 1911's and both of mine are flawless. I've shot over 500 rnds through both and not a hiccup. Even in this vid, you'll notice how it starts to function properly towards the end. I've seen very expensive 1911's malfunction more often than the Sig 1911's. IMO, I highly recommend them! Good luck and be safe.

  • How would you compare this to the SW1911 you've been running?

  • well 10 round mags arent the most reliable..... maybe it doesnt like the length of the ammo like the bullet depth so u know

  • Stick with the Wilson mags ;) I, luckily, haven't experienced any problems in my Kimber or Para using Wilson Combat mags. I can't say that about my Kimber and Chip mags...

  • It's a complete crock that one can spend as much as they ask for these Sigs and *not* get a piece ready for field duty. I'm incredulous...

  • Nutn, what do you think of that SOG Field Pup?

  • yoo nutn you sould do more gear checks man TUMBZ UP PLEASE SO HE CAN SEE!! thx guys *peace*

  • I don't think the pistol has a problem. Your Magazine is the problem. I have tried Kimber mags in four different 1911's(Kimber, Colt, Remington and Sig) and they were second worst with Sig factory mags being the worst. Run Wilsons and then you will not have to worry about it.

  • ahahahah intro commercial was for Barbie Jet Set video game hilarious

  • Why is there a commercial for a barbie video game in the side bar of tnp?

  • @GUNGhoGUNguy He must like playing with barbies!

  • A bad mag can ruin your day........

  • that 45 acp really rocks those mini torsos, never really paid attention to that til now.

  • Kimber>Sig

    American manufacturing>imports

  • @majorporpoise Sig makes their own 1911's in NH...

  • @carlemj Not an American company, and the profits go overseas.

  • This is what I like about NTF...read the statement under the video: It tells it "warts and all...." Not even Sig gets a free ride. Admirable. Would like to see what da man thinks of the Beretta Nano and other items that got kudos from the reviewers. Now back to breaking in my new car....er, Kahr.

  • Great review Nutnfancy.

  • Want a Shotgun Video

  • Hey Nutn, I was waiting for this!!! Thank youuuu!

  • (Cont. Pt. 3) Connecting this 3-point line with the upward thrust of the shooter's hands via the grip angle feels a whole lot stable to me; this is akin to weapons in martial arts in that the wielder must connect his/her chi (or ki) into the critical parts of the weapon (e.g. like a Japanese sword) or else it's "lifeless"/poor technique. This is almost like a "Biometric Sight Picture." _M11

  • (Cont. Pt. 2)Theoretically, if the (grip angle) vertical vector is forceful enough, it can mitigate felt recoil/muzzle flip coming from the rearward moving slide. I'm guessing that a shooter needs to imagine a straight line running through 3 points: the pistol's front sight, the moment arm's fulcrum (located at the gun's breech, right?), and a point along the grip's overhang during the firing sequence.

  • This is going to sound like total conjecture, but does an auto pistol's grip angle have anything to do with mitigating recoil? A 1911 grip angle (for most) feels good in hand (just as a Glock 17 will feel better in hand for other shooters); these are related to individual ergonomics/biometrics as it were. However, doesn't the shooter's upward thrust (i.e. pounds of force) from the pistol grip form a mitigating vector (?) against the horizontal force of the auto pistol's slide moving rearward;

  • Guys? I'm looking for a Christmas gun, anyone know whether or not to go for a Mini 14 or save sme cash and go with a .223 Saiga? PLZ let me kno wat u guys think! I'm looking for at least 2 MOA, low weight, (but not too light) and extreme reliability! Or should I get them in 7.62x39? I'm leanin' for .223 tho

  • @SuperSneakySniper Saiga. They're super reliable, but they don't have a dedicated feed ramp for the bullet. The feed ramp is built into the magazine. If that's an issue and you're good with tools they have guides on how to modify the gun to accept AK mags and put your own feed ramp in. I'd get the Saiga and invest the rest in upgrades/mods, ammo or both. Or look into the Romanian WASR10 AKs chambered in .223 already.

  • @Dstroyr Hey thanks for the help. Uhh, the reason i was looking at Saigas as opposed to AK's was cuz I live in Califonira and if I got an AK or AR, i'd need a stupid bullet button thingy :c But I don't mind using Saiga mags, they mustbe cheaper than mini mags. What would you say on accuracy between the two guns? Niether have a great accuracy reputation, so i was a lil' concerned about which of the two is at least, accurate enough.

  • @SuperSneakySniper Accuracy, I think the Mini-14 is slightly better, but not by much. At worst case you can look up nutnfancy's video on some aftermarket sights he got for his Saiga. (Video is titled "1 MOA AK-47 Iron Sights") The two issues with the Saiga's accuracy are 1)short sight picture and 2)the Saiga rear notch sight isn't as accurate as the rear aperture GI sight. The sight mod makes it a little annoying to break down and clean it, but will give you much better accuracy.

  • Hey nutnfancy, I was wondering if you could do a quick table top review of the CZ P-01 comparing it to the sig 226. It is supposed to be a very good gun for the money and I was wondering if I could here your thoughts on it. Just a suggestion.

    Thank You

  • the miss feeding was probably due to the angeling. I mean it is a sign in 1911 platform, what's ya expect?!

  • i have a sig 1911 that i absolutely love. i got the c3 model and it had 2 failure to feeds early after i got it. it seemed to be ammo related and once switched. i completely agree about the stiff trigger and plan to get the trigger worked on soon.
