For people who don't know, in japan the primary characters in megaman are named after musical genres, that was Inafune's idea.

In 1987 when Rockman was released in the U.S. names were change to better suit the audience or culture....That happened a lot back in the day.

@NinjaMonster IMO they made the right choice. Sure the American show was cheesy, but it was an actual action cartoon and it rarely took itself seriously. These are educational videos, and are flat out obnoxious with the way they slip in cultural references at the expense of compelling plots.  This isn't the only spin-off of Megaman guilty of that either; there's also the insane Brazilian comic which got numerous things wrong and didn't care because it was ardent about its nationalism...

(Not so much the first uploaded by CORN; which was REALLY obnoxious with its education) Both these OAVs and the RS show did action well enough; for me it really comes down to the fact that when the Ruby Spears cartoon inserted things that felt alien to Megaman, it was at least good for a laugh, but here it just seems lame.

@NinjaMonster capcom shouldve licensed the megaman rights to a good anime company to make an official tv series with megaman in his own universe, not having to break the 4th wall like in this trilogy, no offence. they should have a lot of episodes wih dragon ball z like fighting, no superfriends plots like in ruby spears cartoon. sounds nice eh?

The purpose of these episodes were more or less to educate people, both in Japan and internationally, about Japanese culture. With that in mind, I'm sure it had to be short, though I wish there were more of these myself.

Capcom named them Blues and Rock on purpose as a reference to music. Other Characters like Bass and Beat are also musical terms.

Not quite. The word "kuso" does literally mean something like "shit", but it doesn't quite carry the same stigma that the "shit" does. It'd be foolish to say that Japanese doesn't have offensive words, it's just that most of THOSE words are banned from televised use. Words that are used on TV are more like generic interjections. If you wanna offend someone in Japanese, impolite language comes mostly from inappropriate tone (really hard to explain this, ugh).

Man. These OAV's are many times better than the original Ruby-Spears cartoon. At the very least, it's a better kid's show.
