Did you know the man in the mountain in NH is a real man!! I'm a geologist. This is a simple erosion patter of the basalt outcrop. The strata of the underlying rock composes the lower part of the figure. The curvature of the figure follows the same patter of curvature of the other outcrops in the area. As for the odd shape... Differences in the resistance of the rock to the erosion patterns of wind due to variations in chemical composition.

Of course its not a shadow. Its a statue made of some sort of metal. The weather on mars would have flattened it like the surrounding rocks over millions of years if it were merely rock. It is the single most fantastic photo to ever reach the mass population. I have no doubt NASA has many fantastic photo's which we are not privy to. But it is awesome that this statue photo on mars made it through the vast censorship.

Photoshop? I had to smile at that comment. So are we saying that NASA has placed the figure there using "Photoshop"?....LOL....what about all the other strange stuff captured that does seem to ride on the side of the possibility of life on Mars, has NASA used Photoshop to add those in? Perhaps Mars doesn't exist at all, perhaps that too is an invention of someone working for NASA who had a rather long lunch break one day and got bored and played on Photoshop....

When i saw this my mind sorta went on overdrive....wat if there is a whole civilization underground and they have been hiding from us this whole time. But that one alien was going outside trying to be carful because it knows the rover should be on another part of the planet because they dident know it broke down and got caught on photo...that alien was probley shuned out of his civilization....poor guy.

This is the fakest thing i've seen. i could easily do that photo in the photoshop prgram. The "huminoid" Picture is cut out and placed there. if your gonna try to make people believe theres other life out there, then make sure it blends in : ) And yes i believe aliens.

Did you know the man in the mountain in NH is a real man!! I'm a geologist. This is a simple erosion patter of the basalt outcrop. The strata of the underlying rock composes the lower part of the figure. The curvature of the figure follows the same patter of curvature of the other outcrops in the area. As for the odd shape... Differences in the resistance of the rock to the erosion patterns of wind due to variations in chemical composition.

Wow. I don't want to be mean but wow. The principles are there but the facts are not all there. There is no way that any reasonable person would think that a shadow caused that and the assumption that it is a humanoid because of it is nonsense. Also there is no proof of water on Mars and the polar ice caps doesn't have to be water. It could be dry ice which consists of 100% carbon dioxide.

Of course its not a shadow. Its a statue made of some sort of metal. The weather on mars would have flattened it like the surrounding rocks over millions of years if it were merely rock. It is the single most fantastic photo to ever reach the mass population. I have no doubt NASA has many fantastic photo's which we are not privy to. But it is awesome that this statue photo on mars made it through the vast censorship.

more than likley its real, the problem though is actually gettin a human to land on mars successfully and being able to suvive the expedition as well as a space craft to make the journey in a short time without blowing up, it could be rocks or it could be some wierd ass alien being, to be honest i dont care to find out, space is space and i dont need to be eaten alive by some vicious creature, im going to stick to planet earth and solve the problems and mysteries we have here lol

I would love to believe this is proof of life on mars, and usually I am the first to agree... but I think what we are seeing here is nothing more then an optical illusion. I believe what you are saying about the shadows; however, the object looks quite still to me. I think the fact that it is darker then the other rocks makes it stand out, but it is just that; a rock. It would be interesting if there were more photos to see if it did move...

NO,,,, are u people dumb? well if it is not a shadow it might be an end of a rock protruding up and its shadow falls on a ditch which cant be viewed from the camera.. if u observe closley we can see the edge of the crevis,and the rocks might be carved by the martian atmosphe to some wierld shapes,, i doo belive in alens but dont think soo they would survive there. and what are u upto:????? are u gonna prove that alien life forms looks only like humans...........so its only an optical illusion.
