Technically the crusades weren't really instigated by christians, the first crusade was launched at the behest of the byzantine emperor due to seljuk incursions on christian lands. The pope at the time wanted to unite the orthodox and catholic factions so agreed to send aid. The rest were mostly aggression though. Besides it isn't like Yokeup knows anything about history. What people don't understand is that religion itself (Especially Christianity) can't stand on its own without strong arming people into it, killing their leaders, taking their wealth and removing their knowledge. Such things have been going on for many years and most people are entirely oblivious to that fact. Before anyone says that the crusades were done for personal gain not for religion, the crusades were composed of men who were convinced by the church to go kill as many Muslims as they can for they will go to heaven if they do so. My point is that, ANY thought system that is filtered through the lens of a madman will be the thought system of a madman.
