  • I just got to say THANK YOU! from Sacramento, CA.

  • this video nice I have found some nice information from slidingglassdoorrepair. org

  • Dude I found you organically-not signed in (I'm fixing a sliding pocket door and saw your name) so I had to sign in and say HAY!!!!!! = D

  • @briansmobile1 Thanks for popping in! Hope I could teach YOU something for a change, you've certainly filled me full of knowledge throughout the years!!

  • Useful thanks you.. and well done, I like the beginning horror movie music

  • @ProtectABedTV You're very welcome, thanks for checking it out and taking the time to comment.

  • Awesome Video! It was a big help! My family and I have been struggling with this door for years, and finally the wheel broke off the other day. I found the roller cartridges at my Home Depot. The ones I bought looked a little different from the one's I removed, but the hole pattern and configuration looked the same so I figured they'd work. They did....This door has NEVER opened so smoothly!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!

  • @TheBillman70 You're welcome! You're welcome! You're welcome!

  • Wanted to say thanks for the vid... I was able to fix my sliding door using the information here. I must say it wasn't particularly difficult at all. The only real issue I had was finding the replacement roller cartridge. Neither Lowe's or Home Depot seemed to carry them (mine looked just like yours). I did find a set at the local Ace Hardware (note, US stores).

  • @linerjoe2 You're quite welcome. I'm glad things went well for you.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • I was about to go harass my neighbor (a window installer) but now I don't have to. Thanks for the great step by step.

  • @agviteri You're welcome! Now you only have to harass your neighbour to return your hedge clippers! LoL

  • Thanks for the simple and easy to understand instructions! My door is now really "on a roll!!!"

  • @JerryLevineFilms Glad to hear it!! Thanks for the great comment!!

  • Thank you! I was able to fix my door without reinventing the wheel, sort of speak! Best, Louis

  • @zcalob You're welcome, glad I could help!

  • Awesome Video

  • @evilledad Your welcome! Thanks for coming by!!

  • @Goregoon You're not your.... LoL

  • Thanks! I was going to buy a new door!!!

  • @MOJONIXION Your welcome, glad it didn't have to come down to that! Thanks for the comment!

  • @Goregoon You're not your.... LoL

  • The problem I have is that the bottom extrusion has a very high edge so that I cannot lift the door over it. It's about 1 1/2 inch too high. Having looked at some other vids of doors coming off the extrusions I have seen are much lower. It looks like they installed the whole door unit completely assembled.

  • Comment removed

  • @pdmus Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem.

  • Respond to this video... Good video. What can I do if the door still won't clear the jam? I've already lowered the rollers and the bottom of the door catches as if the door just isn't getting enough height. What would cause that?

  • @CAnnRz Sorry it took so long to get to you. I may be too late but here's a thought. Look up at the top of the door and see if there is a safety tab up there that prevents the door from being lifted out by mistake or by a thief. The only thing I can think of that would cause this would be if they were installed as a one piece unit that can't be serviced. It would of had to be installed complete in frame or they doors wouldn't go in.

  • @pdmus I'm probably too late, sorry. I commented below to CAnnRz because he seems to be having the same problem. Check to see if there are safety tabs at the top of the door to keep it from being able to lift out by mistake or a thug trying to rip you off.

Other than something obstructing your lift, I would guess it was installed complete, though now that I think of it complete or not it's frame should line up regardless.

Please let me know how you made out.

  • How do I take the door off?

  • @pdmus Hiya! Ya, I should of included this info on my video and I'm sorry I didn't.

Basically you open the door half way or so, grab it from both sides and lift it up then pull the bottom out towards you and let it back down.

Hope this helps, if you still need help I will be glad to give you a more detailed step by step. It's pretty basic though. The door will only lift an inch or so to clear the bottom from the track.

  • My door got to the point it would'nt move at all. The axle on one of the wheels broke off. just got new wheels and greesed' em. Now if I'm not careful it will slam to the other side. Thank you. You made my day and did it my self.

  • @dstarj1 So glad I could give you the confidence to attack it yourself! Thanks for the great comment!!

  • Dude...You are awesome!!!!! not only did you save me money...but saved me time also...Thanks!!!!

  • Many thanks from us folks in Syracuse. Was unable to remove the door and replace the wheels. However, based on this video, I was able to place a wheel back on the rail and raise it. Made my mother very happy. After all, it is finally spring here and she wants to enjoy the fresh air!!!

  • @kbwildman1 Many your welcomes!! Glad I was able to help you out and even more glad to hear you made your Mother happy!

  • You really need to quit smoking dude. Great vid btw

  • @Amithrius Thanks and ya... I do need to quit, I'll be the first to admit it! It's got quite a hold on me after 35 years or so, I will certainly overcome it one day though! Thanks for dropping by and commenting!

  • WoW, haven't been paying much attention here... over 4000 views... thanks everyone, too bad YouTube screwed up the rating transformation... I'm sure more then 5 people liked this vid... The 5star rating was nice and high, then they changed it and nothing brought back for the old ratings, just started it at 0... pricks

  • Thanks! Great close-ups of the new wheel parts, showing the pivot and adjustment screw.

  • @MrRofeliak Thank you for the comment, I try to let people see what I would want to see if I was trying to do something for the 1st time. I hope it helped you in one way or another. I get a little screwed up while recording, but I think I am starting to get better as I go.

    Take care!

  • Goregoon,

Great video, it helps alot. even better if you could indicate where you bought the two new sets of roller. I have the same type of patio door as you shown in the video and I could not get it from Home Depot.

  • @cheungpcb I think I mentioned in one of the parts that I got it from a door and window specialty shop... Just look up windows and doors sales and service. Service is the key, service means parts. You will have to bring in your old one so they can match it up. I had to wait about a week for my closest shop in Sutton Ontario to find one, but that's probably cuz of the small town factor and they were 40 years old too. That's your best bet, good luck on your search.

  • Good tutorial!

I must add though, maybe you should invest in a 20 dollar tripod? ;)

  • @kidmedia Thanks, I do have tripods... I only set it up for a couple shots though... was a hassle to keep removing it and putting it back... just wanted to get my doors fixed

  • Goregoon,

    Wonderful video! Great job!

    Thanks so much!

  • @terry91745 Thanks, appreciate you stopping by!

I hope it helped in one way or another.

  • Isn't copy and paste wonderful?!?!? ;c)

WoW, haven't been here in a bit, over 1000 views! Ya I know, it's not much when compared to others but it's a mile stone to me!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR CHECKING MY VIDS!

  • Since you are in Canada, you must have freeze/thaw problems. It appears my Anderson sliders have changed position in the track. The little tit that extends to push in the lock mechanism enabling the lock to close appears to be moving. The only way we can close it, is to pull in on the door. This, of course is not good. Any help, or referrals would be appreciated. Thanks, People's Republic of Md.

  • @salem2210salem2210 It's kind of hard to picture what you mean my friend. The tit you talk about, is it on the door frame itself? It should be adjustable, you should be able to loosen 2 screws and move it up or down to center it back to the lock encasement hole (or whatever it's called). I am guessing you mean you can't close it unless you lift up on the door to clear the "tit". Or are you talking the track itself where the wheels glide. The wheels can also be adjusted to match the horizon.

  • Thanks for the help!

  • Glad I could be of assistance. Thanks for watching!
