I have a 5 year old gecko, now that i see that you keep him off sand and try to avoid handling him too much (something i love to do, play with him) ill try to do those things.
@lightsaberboy08 Yes, I hold her when I remove shed from her fingers, and when I clean her terrarium. She is quite tame but I leave her alone to keep her stress level low.
aw that makes me miss my first leo i had, Dash! she looked kind of like yours, but she died when she was 3 from eating sand... now i have Cowboy (dash's mate) and a new 1 year old, Tia Dalma!
@TheCadetsRock When mine was I think 4 years old he ate sand and all of his organs became clogged up. Poor thing couldn't eat or drink for 3 weeks. We came up with an idea as a last resort and just squirted tons of baby oil into his mouth. After another 3 days, he passed all of the impacted sand. He is still living today at almost 13 years old. I saved his life!
A companion would be a lot of stress for her at this point, and she's definitely too old to mate. Although silly, I like to think of me and my friends as her companions. lol
Dead crickets are just much easier for me. I was concerned about her health when I switched to canned crickets, but that was about 4 years ago and she's been very healthy since then. I do occasionally get her live ones so she can run around.
Never dropped a tail. I'm Dink's second caretaker and I'm still good friend's with the first owner an he says she never dropped a tail either. Her tail used to come to a perfect point but she lost about 2mm of it due to poor shedding. I keep the cage more humid since then. Its a huge tail and I'm not sure why.
this video it's kinda sad...

ReptileBeasts 2 years ago
She's a standard Leopard Gecko. Twenty-five years ago, when Dink was purchased, the fancy breeds were extremely rare and not available in pet stores.
rcocker 2 years ago
has dink ever dropped his tail?
ReptileBeasts 3 years ago
Never dropped a tail. I'm Dink's second caretaker and I'm still good friend's with the first owner an he says she never dropped a tail either. Her tail used to come to a perfect point but she lost about 2mm of it due to poor shedding. I keep the cage more humid since then. Its a huge tail and I'm not sure why.
rcocker 3 years ago
Dink's tail is probably huge because of so much fat stored in there after 25 years.
markgilst 2 years ago
he may be old but he is still a sexy gecko lol. Kinda looks like my grandpa.
