Awesome songs! Which are the best bands to check out for this kind of upbeat party style stuff? Like many of the other videos for Blarmey Pilgrim are played alot slower. this is the only upbeat version I can find.
@clouds4free For traditional Irish music, check out the Chieftains or the Bothy Band, theres more but those are some of the best well known and easiest to find.
When I was 10, his movie came out on VHS. I would put on my long skirt and dance around to this scene, when I was home alone. Rewinding it, over and over again. Most kids, would have gone straight to the nude scene, but i just want to dance! XD
God, now I wanna learn how to dance like the Irish. Haha Jeez I wish I was Irish, I'm only Slovak and Canadian which is not bad and my mom has a friend who is Irish and god can she party! Haha!
"Oh Boy'o you'd have angels coming out your arse before getting with the likes of her." God I loved the Irish guy. (That quote is probably not right but still...lol)
I'm a Scottish-Canadian and when I visit my home of Labrador I always think of music like this. They play the hell out of this in the pubs and bars (which are all around the place) and you can sometimes here it playing from down the street.
I saw them in concert about... 10 maybe 11 years ago when I was 7 or 8. I remember that they talked to us for about 15 mins and they ended up signing my "Making of Titanic" book. :)
this whole scene made me intrested in irish music ( jigs, reel, polka's ) my favorite to play on the guitar is john ryan's polka which is the second song being played
I remember someone uploaded a whole load of bagpipe music that was used in the movie but was not on the soundtrack (can't find those vids anymore) - does anyone know what that music was or who it was by? Was it Gaelic Storm?
Hearing this song just makes my heart dance and makes me so proud to be Irish <3 Plus, the scene it's taken from has always been one of my favourites in Titanic. Gaelic Storm kicks ass!! =D
@IrishEyes1989 I envy you for being Irish!! I love absolutely everything about your country! Be it the most beautiful english that exists, the breathtaking landscapes (I only know them from "Waking Ned Devine", but still) or joyful music like these pieces here... *sigh*
The two songs are called the Kerry Polka (I think) and John Ryan's Polka. The style of music would be Irish traditional music. Hope that helps :) Can you tell I'm Irish lol :)
No you ae wrong.... Being a lover of Celtic music and a musician of it myself, I can tell you with 10,000% confidence that the first is Blarney Pilgrim, and the second is John Ryan's. There is an arrangement floating around schools in the US where they are labeled oppositely (incorrectly).
In regards to the tunes. The two tunes are The Blarney Pilgrim and Ryan's Polka respectively. Just wanted to share in case anyone was wondering :) Great music by a great band!
