My entire family (with exception of my immediate family) goes to church due to their religion. They think they're obligated to go to church if they're Christians. Church really would be a cure for violence if it wasn't an obligation and was less of a religion and more of just a social gathering, but hey, that's why we have social gatherings.

Parents are LEGALLY responsible, while a minor is morally. And of course their are consequences to every action.

Atheist: religion is all well and good to a degree, but I still think of how many have died for the sake of it over the ages. And it deters me from wanting to choose any sides. As I see it, they're mostly nice but what happens if I pick the wrong one? Will I go to the hell of another?

Parents reaise you, yes, but that dosen't mean that they chose what you do. You can chose to disobey them, they don't make you do so, and it is your responsibility when you do.
