I love this song on so many levels! I've never heard country music sung in French! I just love that. I also like when Stompin' Tom (or anyone for that matter) sings seamlessly in two languages in the same song.
@piobaireachdjongleur For French lyrics look at a book called ' Chansons de voyageurs, courreurs de bois et forestiers' , page 189. A Google search should pull up a version you can read.

I went to one of his shows about 18 months ago and he ignored a guy who kept yelling for it. Really entertaining show though - first time I'd seen him live after listening to his music for about 20 years.
It makes you so so proud to be Canadian - bravo Stompin' Tom. You unite all of Canada as one!
