Martina is the reason I took to liking country music....she has the best vocals hands down...ive seen her live a few times....and shes perfect ....always....never off pitch ...love her...she can sing the phone book and rock it ....i have to say though I also loooove Gretchen Wilson's version of Barracuda from Heart....she absolutely sings it just as good as Ann wilson ...its from the rock honors show..alice in chains back up band ..watch it its great !! Go Martina !!
Only 1 band has ever done this song better and that was Steve Perry and Journey. Martina did a very amzing job of the song. IF it wasnt for Journey, Martina would OWN this song hands down!!!
Just saw her tonight...amazing...it was a free concert in the middle of town..the stage was in a bank parking lot and they closed off several streets, including the main drag through town...I wasnt going to go anywhere near town today, but I went tonight and glad I did..awesome lady...what a voice!!!
This show was filmed about 45 minutes from the town I live. If I had gotten tickets, I would've gone to this show. Too bad I didn't :( I had two chances to go, once in 2007 and another in 2008, but my mom went to one. I have yet to see her live :(
M-a-a-a-a---n.... Not a follower/fan of her type of music but this lady can sing her ass off. Probably now one of my favorites after seeing/hearing a couple of her videos. Rock/Hard Rock needs to add someone like this.
Ashamed to say that I'd never heard of Martina McBride (not a fan of C&W). Saw her paired with the incomperable Pat Benatar. This lady is a Real Rock Godess with great range and perfect pitch. Listen to her sing Promises In The Night for proof. This is a great cover.
@silvereith She is great and has been around for a while now. The song that put her on the map was "Independence Day". She has had other hits like "Broken Wing", "Valentine", "Where Would You Be", "Concrete Angel" to name a few. And she has stated that Pat Benatar was a major influence on her as kid. She is mostly known as a country artist but seriously she can sing pretty much anything.
Ill cast my vote for a Martina /Steve Perry xroads

Thanks for posting. Love Martina. Look's like her drummer was using Ludwig Black Oyster's with a Gretsch front bass drum head.

Martina OWNED this! By far the BEST cover of this song I've ever heard ... and I've heard a LOT! Even the band sounds just like Journey!
