VN is a sad country becuz it surrounded by Wars. There was China, then France, Japan and now the VietCong. After more than 30 years after the VN War, there is nothing change but more suffering, humiliations and sadness by the Communist (VC). What VN needs now are Democracy, Human Rights and True Freedom.

vovinam is not a pure vietnamese martial art, it got mix with many others well know types like Judo, karate, teak kwon do, ect. I have no problem with Vovinam, but they should rename the name and what they said about Vovinam is Vietnamese Martial Art becuz it is not pure Vietnamese Martial Art. It is a copy from others arts with a little Binh Dinh lol. It should call Hot Pot Martial Arts becuz it got all in 1 called Vovinam lol . Democracy and Human Rights for Vietnam Now

You should search for more information about Vovinam and its history. Founder Nguyen Loc combined many martial styles and turned them into unique Vietnamese martial arts so "Hot Pot" is a stupid name and whoever said that is a dumb =)). And if you want to talk about politics, there are many places for you to show off your knowledge and talents except this one, Vovinam is a sport, not democracy or human rights.

@chrl007 well it was a Vietnamese who refined and put together these techniques and made them more practicall and useful for war fighting so we have the right to call it ours, plus all other martial arts are influenced from one another so if u say that than no other martial art has the right to say that its theirs.

You cant say that which martial art is the better, cause you dont have enough knowledge to confirm this. Martial art, have no boundaries, no limited, no country, colors... they just have a spirit, same in everywhere.. to protect yourself, to help others, to be stronger and not to be the winner.
