    How did you train your vertical so effectively, mean which kind of excercises, can you give some exsamples?

    anyways keep dunking and dont ruin everything with weights (mj didnt use weights to jump high and nobody does) so just keep trying to jump higher

  • @iBundlez yea well ankle weights dont count as weight training...its just pulling u down so u have to use more force to get up...secondly, it works out ur hips and glutes more when u walk (and hams + quads) so thats a good thing cuz theyre the main muscles for jumping, especially glutes.

    im actually going to get some ankle weights this weekend and see how it goes

  • walking around in ankle weights is proven to mess up your posture, and the way you walk...if your going to use anything with ankle weights i would watch the stretchexpert videos...don't walk around in them.

  • fuck no i havent ever wore ankle weights...if you want to gain vert walking around with weights that can possible negatively affect the way you walk/jump isnt the way to go...plyos and explosive weight training is the way....

    i guess earl the manigault isnt to big of a legend if ive never heard of em'

  • Doesnt look like a 42 inch running vert. I would beleive that u have a standing vert of 32 however. Theres no way u have a 10 inch difference between your standing and running when your a two foot jumper.

    ive done some plyos and weightlifting though

    so really focus on things like weighted lunges,squats and plyos

  • hey uh i'm 15 and i'm working hard on my vert too, but im not as good as you i cant even dunk ten foot I've got 28 standing, 35 running. I lift weights and all that and have started trying to dunk a lot and have realised that has given me the best results. I'm wondering though what to you do to train your vert?

  • to be honest i dont train my 'vert' too often because the best way to do that is plyometrics(squat jumps,lunge jumps, depth jumps..etc) but i currently do weight training 5 days a week(2 days legs)...for best results combine the two

  • The only training i really do is dunking itself.

    A few months ago i did plyometrics 2x a week for 4 weeks and my vertical skyrocketed up 6 inches. I found myself dunking alot easier, but i still havent got that ingame dunk..:P..haha i want it so bad...Oh and i weightrain my legs once in awhile
