Definitely should change blue to purple. Changing the orange really messes with the cube's contrast. I don't know what they were thinking when they decided that changing the orange side was the best solution....weird.

Can you sell your cubes fully stickered with the exception of the orange face xD? Stating that your colour scheme is blue opposite black but with free orange stickers :)?

Rubiks brand cubes often come with weird and random colour schemes, you should copyright all other schemes fast :P

@rprb1957 You can use whatever colors you wish. all color schemes are allowed in WCA competitions according to their rules. Puprle is not "outlawed" it's simply not going to be supplied by Dayan in the future.

I think the best thing for the retailers to do is ship them with the new color scheme. Once the buyer has the cube, there is nothing stopping them from customizing it to their preferred color scheme.

Personally, I really don't care. Eastsheen has been using purple instead of orange as long as I've been cubing. I don't use Eastsheen cubes much, but when I have, it hasn't bothered me. If the whole color scheme was going to be different, I'd be a little more concerned. But just switching orange and purple is fine by me. If anyone has a problem with it, they could just resticker their cubes.

I have used Eastsheen cubes since 2009 and they use purple stickers. And I love using them. No problems in solving them. Simply get a replacement orange sticker set from places like cubesmith and problem is solved.

I would think that offering two alternatives when ordering would satisfy most everyone. Cubes unstickered with seven colors of stickers included or stickered cubes with purple in place of orange. On a side note: I bet there are quite a few people who would pay an extra $1 per cube if you offered custom color schemes.

If you get the cubes already stickered with the purple then just send one orange set to the customer. If you get the cubes unstickered then sticker everything like normal but leave the orange side blank and send purple and orange stickers to the customer. Yeah?
