Great memories guys, thanks! I grew up on Linton Lane and actually went to Fort Hunt Elem, Stephen Foster JH and Fort Hunt High School!!! Now it's Carl Sanburg I think. I used to always crash the parties for free food at the park on weekends. Can you still jump to the towers across from the main Fort?
I always wondered what was in there in Fort Hunt Park. Now I'm wondering why I was wondering, but that gets into a whole nother realm. Thanks for the post. It was fascinating.

how was all the doors open? every time i been there they are always lock, exspecilly since they are metal doors now and not wooden ones
