we just adopted our 1st greyhound yesterday! she is now deemed too old to race so they neglected her, and left her for 10 hrs alone every day. She is a little thin, malnourished but in time she will be strong and healthy again. Those Muther effers! i looked up here racing stats online.. funny, i found the owners,, hmmm...
my retired greyhound which i adopted can only be social with other greyhounds because it never met any other dogs. So it either thinks it's prey or a threat poor thing because it rarely sees other greyhounds. This "industry" needs to stop
I'm glad I read the comments :) it seems like your video is propagander. Though tbh I should have been suspicious when you have nothing to back up what you are saying! I don't think greyhound racing should be banned, its evident that there are a lot of people out there who care for their dogs and grey hounds are made to run, but I do think there need to be strict regulations so as to prevent creulty and I am against killing those that are unfit to run, they could make excellent pets instead.

The animal never asked to do it, its not healthy for them. They do what they're told. If they want excercise they can run in the field. Greyhounds are sooo cute, how wood somebody want to kill them just because their dog cant race anymore or it cant race at all, I mean really.(I wood adopt one if I ever get a dog.) some people are sooooo stooped sometimes.
horse 14t, these dogs need special treatment. They aren't socialized, you couldn't even guess how they'd get along with other animals or kids. They have no ppl socializing nor with other animals, they are alone and treated like property. They don't even know how to behave like a dog, not even how to play.

And by the way, what do you think about horse races? Do their owners do the same?
It is indeed. The good news is that there is a strong movement shifting away from greyhound racing in many parts of the world. Hopefully over time, greyhound racing will cease to exist entirely.
It's really sick what mankind can do without thinking about any feelings. There are so many other topics and each one makes me wonder, how long this torture will go on.
Keep up your great work, it's really good to know that there are people who care about those who have no voice.
It's quite unreal how much animal cruelty goes on without people even realizing. I hope there will come a day when people see how cruel even the smallest things like greyhound racing can truly be. It's already been banned in several states in the US, I am hoping the rest will enact bans soon as well!

The race track I used to live near was shut down (in FL), and quite a few people were against that.
I for one did not want it there, so I didn't pay attention to those who stood outside to protest it being shut down.
If I could, I would adopt the one's who are saved (they used to be outside of a store around here...), but I know a few people who have adopted some and those dogs are doing well. :)

The people owning the dogs only care for one thing and that is for winning. I think that they need to make some serious efforts to improve its care of the dogs.
I definitely agree. The fact of the matter is that in industry built upon earning a profit is no suitable place for a dog. Its care will always be put second to winning and making money.

I know one of my aunts had a gray hound but had to send him away cause of one of her new family members are allergic.
I like gray hounds, but what's the point in racing? Ask someone this question... They'll say "I dont know", or "It's fun:" They have no reason.

That´s great about the track being shut down.
Their are greyhound adoption organizations all across the United States. I´ve heard they make fantastic pets.
And it´s awesome to hear that those dogs are doing well... it´s nice to hear they´re acclimating to living like regular, happy, dogs.
