  • Clearly you have no idea what the word HQ means !

  • One day your songs will also be outdated and irrelevant to the latest generation. They will probably even criticize the terrible sound. However, you will listen to them and remember a brighter time.

  • not real HQ but definitely the quality I recall first hearing in 80's latenight rural radio listening... even swear there's atmospheric fade-out because of cloud movement...

    ; ' )

  • Briliant HQ ha ha ha!!! Thumbs up to Durktle.

  • To be honest, I like Colin Hay's acoustic version better.

  • Bring back memories of when I didn't have any responsibilities as a teenager. Those were some great days and wish I could take a time machine back to 1983.

  • I love colin hay he is so great and his song California is amazing

  • not hq but still a good tune

  • One of the all time greatest songs ever written/performed in history.

  • Men At Work's stone cold best! Bought the album for it when it first came out! Others off this album got more airplay, but none are as great! Love the sax, the scale climbing guitar and oh those haunting lyrics! Went and saw them in concert, thought the girlfriend, now wife was gonna cry when she lost the T-shirt. This is the kind of song that you buy a great sound system for! Thanks for the hard work on this one Men.

  • @MrYodeal one of the best songs from that era. it's still haunting. great lyrics & video.

  • love thi song .. prefer colin's acoustic version me thinks

  • This song is the best I've ever seen about anxiety disorders, especially PTSD- the fear that never ends, the flashbacks of horror that come out of nowhere, the unending and unrequited search for even a brief moment of peace of mind that never comes...

  • This song was released on the year I was born, so I don't know if the cool kids liked it or not, but I sure do. It's nice to listen to older music. When I listen to the radio now, I feel like no one is trying anymore. This song has depth, meaning and the subject of the song does some emotional traveling. It feels like a complete experience, not a single band member just looking for attention or a bunch of parts thrown together at the same tempo and in the same key. I hate today's music a lot.

  • @bedofrazorsqwerty To answer your question, yes...the "cool kids" LOVED it. Men at Work came about when a musical revolution occurred. And you are dead on about the scope of musician's today: Seems to be more about showmanship. What was once evoked in lyrics seems to be more effective as a performance piece. Another haunting tune with great background melody is The Motels "Suddenly Last Summer."

  • Sadness, melancholy, cold desperation...

and yet a sort of greatness in dealing with them...

oh that dock and then those lights in the streets...one of best ever made video and song from '80s...this masterpiece of Men at Work takes me back to days of my adolescence...only who experienced that taste can understand what the 80's were...

  • @Zeusdattilo you nailed the feelings 100%; you speak the words of truth and experience. I know exactly what you are talking about. Cheers

  • @bonzelite Thanks. I guess you share my feelings.

  • pinche audio culero

  • I clicked this hoping to hear to OVERKILL ¬¬ not men at work.

  • HQ audio?

  • It's just me or guitar and bass sound pretty much the same as "Who can it be now"?

  • I really can't get to sleep most nights.

  • And u call this HQ??? I don't ever heard a REAL HQ song...

  • MUST... WATCH.... SCRUBS.... VERSION.

  • Most underrated song O the decade.

  • what a tune .listen to this with all 6 speakers on LOUD.

  • what a tune .listen to this with all 6 speakers on LOUD.

  • This album was a monster when I was in high school, brings back a lot of awesome memories. I kind of miss the '80s.

  • I Rank This song at #94 on my list of top 100 favorite music videos of the 1980's. Austrailia's own boys from down under (no offense to AC/DC) packed a huge punch in the early 80's with songs like this. Men At Work had what i like to call the IT factor in their own style of Reggae/New Wave music and it shows. Though the band didn't last long, who will ever forget Colin Hay belting out those high voice lyrics and jamacian style vocal range.

  • HQ MY ASS

  • @knoxled -haha, right?

  • @knoxled .... exactly, sounds like crap.

  • @knoxled im sure for the 80's this was HQ :/

  • I can't get to sleep, I am at work. I wish they'd let me. : )

  • where was this video filmed >>>?? any ideas?

  • @indyfan22k St Kilda, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Good spot. Full of prostitutes these days.

  • @campex How much has the place changed, yet stayed familiar? Man i feel old

  • @campex I bet this was shot on a monday or a tuesday night. You can tell by how quiet the traffic is. Man how times have changed. I remember the days when sundays you could go to ANY shopping centre and the place was closed. We used to play cricket in the car parks at Kmart cuz the place was utterly and totally deserted!

  • @indyfan22k Definitely looks like most of it was shot in East L.A.

  • story of my life

  • I have to admit, I forgot about you guys!!! Get back on the radar, will you? Go to CBC radio!! Canadians love your stuff!!! Ican't get to sleep !!! ..complications... hahah

  • heard it on scrubs and now love it :)

  • colin hay - the best song writer nobody knows.

  • Love it love it love it!!! This song represents a time when music was music, not all that fake crap they pass off on the radio these days! How I long for music like this again. Thank god for YouTube :)

  • @klmg0074 I have to agree with you on that. Why is it that growing up, I loved music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, alot of 90's, but now, there are very few new songs that I favor. And I was born in 1970, I liked music that was made 20 years before I was born. And alot of younger people just like now music, and don't appreciate the classics. Hell, I even like jazz, blues, and classical as well. Some country, I think I like older country is better than this new stuff also.

  • You call this HQ audio? I guess if you're used to listening to a transistor radio with blown speakers...

  • @Durktle Dude, the reason why is it HQ Audio is because of the loud volume. Get it?

  • @Durktle haha....i know eh....lol

  • Their best song -- can't get enough.

  • Erano bravissimi!

  • This song "sounds" like 1983 to me. I was so young and lived in a world so different than the one I have found to be real. I wish we all had one chance to go back in time to one point and begin again from there. 1983 and 1984 were the highlight of my life. All glory is fleeting. Stay young.

  • It takes superior talent to write complex lyrics as well as accompanying music that only enhances the the words. A job well done. This song will live on for years to come as an example of true artists that were insightful and creative. Were those that followed even half as good...

  • Who the fuck dislikes this great music and video????

    No taste at all....

    Men at work... 5*

  • DAM WERE IZ DA TIME MACHINE LETS ALL GO BACK IN TIME TO DA 80S SHIT WAS SO SIMPLE BACK DEN PLAYING ON DA STREES NO COMPUTERS NO CELL PHONES JUS SCOOBIE DOO AND MELS DINER DAM DIS IZ A JAMMMM O YA DA JEFFERSONS PEACE MY FRIENDS LOVE U MEN AT WORK ALOHAS MILILANI BOI

  • 0:10 Looks like That Sacrface Dude "Okay Big Shot you want to make some Big Bucks!!!"

  • probably their best song. just entered high school when this was out. men at work were cool cuz they were quirky and strange and goofy looking; they weren't pretty-boy fashion plates. they were a top 40 band it was ok to like. and they wrote great music, the first 2 LPs are both pretty solid. i remember my sister and i being riveted to this video. it's a mistake too.

  • Mysticjaz hope life is a lot kinder to you now. Great song but then they are a great band. They don't play Men @ Work on the radio nowadays. It should be mandatory lol

  • i cant get to sleep

  • Who couldn't like this?

  • Men at Work are one of the resons the 80's were such a good time for those of us who had the good fortune to be there.

  • @citizenfitz absolutely agree. Glad I was a teen then. I feel sorry for the youth of today and the meaningless music that they have been brainwashed by. Sub me back! Love and Peace to you, Flowr

  • liked this group alot What the hell was wrong with his eyes

  • Disculpenme si me oigo muy idiota pero...Son los del gurpo overkill de thrash metal? o son otro grupo? y de que album es esta cancion??

  • @JennyMetal94

Este grupo es Men at Work y son Austalianos.

La cancion pertenece al album Cargo que si mal no recuerdo salio en 1984-1985.

Excelente cancion, excelente album y excelente grupo....

  • these were the days!

  • This is one of my all time favorite bands, and this song was probably my favorite... though I loved their first two albums entirely. This was the first band I liked that wasn't a band my parents grew up with.

  • I love men at work They bring such good memories to me ..There music brings a smile to my face and my heart. :)

  • COOL SONG!!

  • Haunting. Truely one of the great songs of the 1980s.

  • Didn't make #1 on the charts. Should have !

  • We all love this song at work! My buddies crack up when I sing the bridge..." I can't get to sleep..."

  • I don't think he's hot, but he has a nice sound

  • HE`S HOT

  • @juliajavier who, the silly-eye bloke?

  • @FelipeCO95 ...FOR ME THIS THING WITH THE EYE IS HOT!!! well maybe now is completely different (long time no see) but in this video THIS EYE THING HELPS HIM ......my point of view

  • @juliajavier I respect that, I just wanted to know which one of them!

  • ♥ ♥ fits to some emotions in my life...

great song thanks for sharing ....

    :- )

  • wheres the HQ

  • probably still back in 1983. It sure as hell isnt here.

  • I like the sax.

  • @FOXACHECK it's a clarinet

  • @mau5traprecordings

    Nope, soprano sax. Google it.

  • i can relate...

  • is it about panic & anxiety?

  • I hope so.

  • My favorite Men At Work song!

  • This song hit during one of the hardest periods of my life. It always reminds me of a time when I was just on the edge of survival - staring at possible homelessness and not knowing where my next meal was coming from. "It's time to walk the streets, and smell the desperation. At least there's pretty lights, and thought there's little variation, it nullifies the night form overkill." No kidding!

  • @mysticjaz It's message is universal, I was between two intense relationships when it came out, and thought that it must have been written for me alone.

  • @mysticjaz emo

  • @mysticjaz omg same but im 16 but this song really hellped me

  • @mysticjaz Glad to hear you got through it relatively intact...PEACE.

  • @mysticjaz hope things are better for you now

  • @mysticjaz

Never saw it like that. Thanks for the fresh point of view.

  • @mysticjaz This song always reminds me that there are people out there who feel just as alienated, lonely, and afraid as I do.

  • @mysticjaz Gotta love the solos!!

  • @mysticjaz You're awesome for surviving! This is a great tune to listen to and be inspired by! Good luck to you! "Ghosts appear and fade away."

  • @mysticjaz Love your post!!!!! The song means a lot to me too....

  • @mysticjaz : I'm glad you're still here with us! God bless you ALWAYS!!!

  • overkill > land down under

  • Man that cat had some tasty guitar licks. Thse guys were truly a talented bunch from down under. Just like INXS really tallented!!

  • The guitar solo shot is fantastic 80's film style! "TURN the lights out and Throw a projector on him"! I belive I'll make one now...LOve this song!! (and the damn guitar solo shot)

  • great song but what part of this video is HQ audio... Sounds like barse!

  • 1:54

    FREAK SCARING...

  • THIS SONG GETS VERY MUCH INTO ME!!!

makes me so sensitive to hear it again.........

    Ghost appear and fade away

  • OVERKILL. love it.

  • I use to laugh at Michael Jackson jokes, until I found out how he died, he just wanted to be knocked out, get a good night's rest...

  • I love how people tell you to "get some sleep", get 8 hours, like it's a choice, it isn't a choice--I spend my whole life, trying to get it...

  • I drink half a bottle of whisky and a few sleeping pills and some b vitamins and I still wake up at 4 AM.

  • I've seen more sunrises and sunsets than any man a right to. Last night my daughter slept 10 frking hours...she's only 9, but she stills sleeps the sleep of the dead.

  • Great song, great group.

  • thank you so much for uploading...I could never remember what this song was called...I 'm old enough to remember it when it first came out...it isn't played very often..thanks again

  • Awesome song!! Colin Hay = Awesome period. He was also a guest star on Scrubs!!! Scrubs = Best show EVER!! period. Cant wait 4 next season.

    AUSSY AUSSY AUSSY!!!!

  • come si traduce overkill in italiano? Perchè in inglese esiste questa parola e in italiano no? Comiunque adoro questa canzona, piena di poesia. Grazie a chi lavora..

  • overkill è un modo di dire in inglese come per dire che l'amore ammazza troppo...non so spiegartelo bene!

  • great song but the audio is far from HQ more like Low Q

  • Wow, never realised it was them who gave also gave us ' Land down under' . What a brillant band. I miss the 80's!

  • Its a amazing song

  • occasionally, he looks a little cross-eyed..very good song though. scrubs FTW!

  • High quality audio?????????

  • gorgeous song beyond belief

  • fantastic song

  • I miss you Men at Work!!!!!!!!

  • Google Colin Hay.... I think he's touring right now in fact.

  • amo

  • Truly timeless lyrics....awesome song here, thanks for uploading.

  • i prefer eittiÉ

  • superb ( not like the ausies , is there a scot in there ) .

  • The video may be an typical 1980s video, but the song isn't a standard 1980s song. The fact of the matter is, the production value is pretty timeless; the song could have been recorded today.

  • i like the acoustic version better, it has more soul in it, but that's just my opinion.

  • Man I could listen to this song all day this is the Slap!!! This is one of those songs that bring you back to that time.

  • Perhaps my favorite song!

  • Go St Kilda!

  • Beautiful song also video.

  • es brutal esata cancion es lo mejor

  • Colin is an incredible singer songwriter... This piece is so timeless... This is still fresh today as it was in 1983... The rappers of the world could learn a lot from him

  • the shit

  • lol this is on an episode of scrubs

  • this is the definitive version

  • i love this song, but does anybody know what the lyrics are about?

  • Colin cant sleep because he's worried over situations and he sees ghosts!

  • well obviously you have no apreciation for the original artists work just the cheap knock-offs

  • i actually like collin hay's version of this song, i think its better because he adjusted the song appropriate for the current generation so that everyone could enjoy it

  • Comment removed

  • exactly! damn, that wasnt hard? was it?

  • that is men at work dumbass

  • the singers name is colin lol

  • Um. You KNOW that Colin is also the singer of the Men-at-work-version of the song, don't you?

  • does anyone know where i can get the accoustic version?

  • youtube

  • Thanks for downloading. One of my favorites in the 80's. RGU555-Philippines

  • This video always made me homesick.I was in the Navy and going to bars drinking drafts and watching Mtv,this song came on and my thoughts would always tak
