i used to track my rx7 but it was unreliable and my budget for it runs out.. damn i miss those days if only budget permits. its a daily driven now. bought an ek9 and installed a k20 as my track car. comming from a great handling rwd car at first i was s skeptical about the ek9 but it turns out not bad at all, its a second off my rx7 lap times.

@mrspogg Yes, those are standoff injectors, which provide better fuel atomization during high RPM, WOT runs, which is where this engine lives. They can be used by themselves, or in tandem with another FI system, to makeup for distribution deficiencies or a simple lack of flow in the primary system.

@dudewtf1776 if maintained properly and driven hard once in a while to keep them cleaned out, they last well over 100K miles. Use the right oil, keep it topped off, warm up properly, and keep up on ignition tune ups. Yes it's a lot more than what is needed for a piston engine, but if done right they last a long time.

@cbremer83 I would certainly hope they last well over 100K miles. Out of four vehicles I own all of them are conventional gas engines and only one of them is not well over 100K miles. The highest mileage one is just under 300K miles and it's just a 1996 Jeep 4.0L I6!

a formula1 engine is all about small displacment, high power. were talking 3-4 liter V10 engines with anywhere between 14-18;1 compression ratio putting down anywhere from 650-800hp all motor.....

the magic in those cars are the gear ratios that take advantage of the low weight in those carbon fiber bodies

@longlive289s rotory motors don't have as high a horsepower rating as say a v8 but they do have the best power-to-weight ratio of any engine type which translates into higher speeds, especially in a small car like an rx 8 or rx 7
