  • cool, and now if the cosworth 4banger could become part of that

  • @MonkiMajyk The owner, who's crawling into the car there, actually negotiated with the Chrysler group to buy one of the original 2.2's that was built for the program... It's still in the crate, but the plan is to drop it in there sooner than later. :)

  • this will be one of my first acquisitions when I win the lottery :)

  • any info on if theres a kit? or where to buy?

  • @TheAlliancehero You can keep up with our website and discussion forum at thewraithcar(dot)com. We're still trying to figure out the best way to do such a kit, but progress is being made.

  • MAn u should warm it before u move it! right!

  • iv always wanted that car ima get it 1 day

  • @KOF107 Drop me a note, i might be able to make that happen for ya.

  • The only thing that makes this car look dated is the wheels and tires. Bigger wheels with lower profile tires and it would look like it just rolled out of an exotic car plant! Still and awesome freaking car though! Nice work guys

  • @yzf7steve I agree, but the rims are about as close as we could get to the movie car, and Dodge prototype, BBS rims. In the interest of keeping it as close to the original image as possible, we decided to stay with what we had.

  • @escaperoute1 Those rims... Trans Am GTA rims?

  • @Bduke1000 These particular rims, yes. Those are GTA's. The Dodge pace car originally had BBS mesh rims, which were very similar. We have the accurate rims now. This video was shot some time ago.

  • @escaperoute1 Yeah. Looks nice though.

  • is it realy a dodge product?? or kit car reproduction?? at first glance i thought it was a highly modified fiearo then i it looked to long and the floor pan looked to deep im confused i guess there is just a few of these and probably all hand made... let me know cool car..

  • @dumbcup This particular car was a movie prop for The Wraith, one of Charlie Sheens early films. The movie props were made from the molds of a Dodge prototype called the M4S. Technically, this is not a Dodge made car, but it IS Dodge's design and the body is exact to the prototype. You can see more at our website, or search the Allpar website for the Dodge M4S for more history. Thanks for viewing! Oh, also, youtube search for "M4S PPG pace car" for a video of the prototype.

  • @dumbcup i thought i had heard once it was a concept car of the dodge company.

  • @rjcubby13 That's true. This particular car was a movie prop, but all of the props were made from the molds of a Dodge pace car. There's a video of the prototype here on Youtube, just search for "M4S PPG pace car" and it should come up. We work closely with the designer, so if you want more info, you can drop me a note, or e-mail me.

  • I have been a car guy for 47 years and let me give you a A+ for what you did this car is beautiful, very very cool.

  • @s46d45m17 Thank you, very much!

  • she's beautiful

  • @whitman26 Thanks pal. We're very proud of all the work that went into restoring her.

  • audiblegto, Your project looks awesome! I am interested in a kit version of the m4s prop please send me some current or future contact info regarding the shop car etc. I don't know if the original 2.2 liter engine is possible to build, but some ideas I have in mind would be Honda's 2.2 liter mugen rr experimental engine with twin Garrett turbos or dodge's proven stage three 2.4 liter srt-4 engine with twin ball-barring turbos obtaining 400-450 BHP. My e-mail is daviesri9@aol.com thankyou.

  • mmmmm, damn, it purrs like a cat. B-)

  • FYI - You sir are living my dream. I wanted one car in my life before I go and this is it. God Bless and take care of that girl.

  • @audiblegto If we can't take care of her, she will go to someone who will. Thanks for the kind words though. If you're interested, we have an overwhelming demand for a replica kit. It would be a good tinker project if you're into cars, and i can give you more details. Just drop me a message anytime!

  • Hello I wanted to say one thing but how you have paid dodge?? but still keeps the car?? or because they have only seen 2 videos on youtube but they were on display for the event to the old videos for me??

  • @giuseppe1196 This is not the original Dodge M4S, this is a movie prop made for "The Wraith" which came out in 1986. There were six made for the movie, this is the only one left that we know of. This video was older, when the movie car was in primer. We have newer videos of the car in paint.

  • @escaperoute1 Where did you find the car from one of my favorite movies!

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz We tracked it down several years ago, it was sitting in a shop at an automotive school in Kansas. In real rough shape. We've restored it and have several videos on youtube. More developments are in the works as well. I'll send you a more personal message about it.

  • man pleas email me all info! i love this car since seeing the movie!

  • VEICOLO RARISSIMO ED INAUDITO:CHRYSLER DODGE PPG M4S "TURBO INTERCEPTOR", L'AUTO DE "IL REPLICANTE"

    stupenda

  • Where can u buy a car of this model and make? and how much?

  • @gninja92 There is a kit program being developed. You can see updates and information on that by checking up on our website. thewraithcar(dot)com. Or you can e-mail me here and i'll give you some more details.

  • Awesome work, awesome movie. :)

  • Lucky Basterds.

  • This car has the GTA rims! LOL! I have a 89 GTA Trans Am and cannot believe how new those rims are! I have always hated the honeycomb rims! I can't wait to get some money in my pocket so I can pull those rims off for good!! LOL!

  • @awesomeguy1979 They're not the most attractive, no, but we were trying to keep it as close to the rim style used on the Dodge M4S. They were BBS rims and these were GTA's. We've since acquired the BBS rims, but it looks pretty much the same.

  • @escaperoute1 this is thejeeplife i dont use that account anymore but i wanted to ask for those prop shots you said you have that would be awsome of witch cars had gallwing doors and witch had lambo ones

  • @turbojeep85 Oh yeah, i'll send you a message about that! Thanks.

  • is it possible to get that exhaust note from the movie?

  • @CrashBandikoot7 Most of the movie sounds were dubbed in, but you could probably find an exhaust system that would get close. We've talked about doing that, but we're not sure how much support and room it would take on the car. It's possible that we might damage the integrity of the body by trying to make something like that work. Still thinking about it though.

  • @escaperoute1 Hmm I see. I think you should really consider it. That was a very cool sound. Do you sell these bad boys? If so, how much?

  • @CrashBandikoot7 This was the original screen used car, so it would be nice to have that exhaust sound. We're also working on our first street legal version of the car since this one is technically a collection piece. We might be linking up to sell kits in the future, you can e-mail me about details at "allfornot@gmail(dot)com"

  • @escaperoute1 all right. wonderful. ill keep that in mind.

  • @escaperoute1 reminds me of the note from a wankel rotary as employed by mazda. it sounds like 'the future'. or in this case, the past. nice car, fellas.

  • thats what she said

  • technically I still own one of those motors.

  • did you see that guys balls

    yeah, they were weird

  • I'd smack my grandma just for a trip around the block in that car

  • How much do you want for it? Or how how much do you want to build one for me?

  • @markcolt93 Keep up with our website and you can find information on the kits when they finally take off. thewraithcar(dot)com

  • @markcolt93 Go on the H.A.M.B.. you will find several people with the skills to hand build you a wraith from scratch...In aluminum or steel...

  • It would have been nice to see it with the original engine of the M4S, but I think a V8 will do just fine.

  • @Lynxtpm We bought one of the original 2.2's from Dodge that was designed for the M4S pace car. It will likely be installed at a later date.

  • @escaperoute1

That sounds real nice! The car wil have its original 440 hp twin turbo engine(they are really not twin turbos, one goes over the other one). This tecnology is actually used now a day by BMW, Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat Powertrain. in different types of engines.

The original M4S cloked 195MPH with that engine and a Giant wing on its rear end, take that wing off and I bet it will run over 200MPH.

    Keep us informed!!!

    Good luck with the car.

  • @Lynxtpm With a V8 engine the car can't do 9,7 km/l over 250 Km/h.. It's perfect with his Mopar.

  • aahh this car killed oggie, minty, packard, skank and gutterboy

  • Fake side vents let it down

  • how much did it cost to build it and how long???

  • @wapsyCR250 A lot of trial and error went into the restoration, i don't know an exact dollar amount. This was one of the original prop cars from the movie. It took about 8 years to restore. If you want to see different photos, Google "CarDomain" and go to it's website, then search for "escaperoute". I set it up last year, plenty of photos and info on the whole thing.

  • you lose the race, you lose your car

  • I see a corvette in the backround.

  • are those 80s fire bird wheels or jeep wheels????

  • @mikecameli GTA rims commonly found on the 80's Trans Am etc. The movie car and Dodge prototype had the same style.

  • I remember see in the Turbo interceptor concept car at the NY auto show back then and it had a turbo V6 out of Buick Grand National

  • whats it have engine wise?

  • @KeithWasHere1 As of now it has a 4.8 V6, but we have one of the original 2.2 turbos that were made for the car. We're debating other engine options, but the 6 serves it purpose. After all, the real props didn't even have a Mopar engine, they were VW power.

  • @escaperoute1 4.6 V6? What engine is that? and is it wide enough for 3 seats?

  • @alanBastard Good eyes, it's a 4.8 V6. The movie cars had a VW engine for power, we dropped the V6 temproarily. The car is wide enough for three seats, but the interior would have to be redone. It's a two seater.

  • @escaperoute1 is it possible to get that awesome sound the engine made in the movies. im no exhaust expert but the car just would be the same without that sound

  • @aronmg I'm sure it's possible, but you would have to have specialized exhaust on the car. From what i understand, the movie sounds for the car were dubbed in. You'd just have to find the right exhaust system to come close.

  • @escaperoute1 is it possible to get that awesome sound the engine made in the movies. im no exhaust expert but the car just would be the same without that sound

  • @Blkday64

Leave it alone.. we have far too many repop movies..

  • A car with fake air intakes on the side is just as wrong as a an adult man (who can't pull it off because of extreme badassness) wearing shorts. Honestly, most men in shorts look like they are mentally handicapped, and all cars with fake intakes on the sides look like Ford Probes. You can get an old Ferrari for 30k.

  • @DTownzz Considering that the movie props didn't have functional intakes, and we don't want to chop up the body of the only one left, we'll deal with the look.

  • @escaperoute1

    That's a pretty legit explanation, I admit.

But a ding on the original concept, IMO. Great job, and obviously you can't destroy a historical car for my sensibilities.

  • @DTownzz And i didn't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, but it's something that we hear a lot about, the vents not being functional. We certainly appreciate the compliments on the restoration though. Many thanks for throwing that our way!

  • the kit ur thinking of is it just the body what might it consist of and i heard about a show maybe in tucson that might be introducing the car the public i wanna see the original some day even if i have to travel to see it does anyone know what exactly the prop car had was it a dodge 2.2 ltr turbo what kind of pipe set up do they use to get that tone well im SERIOUSLY interested in putting one together since they dont make these where can I get blueprints to this car??

  • @WastedTalent26 Keep watching for new videos from me for updates. When a kit is available, it will likely be a body, windows, doors, and some suggestions for interior chassis etc.

  • What is the Power Plant?? 2.2L Turbo EFI Intercooled???

  • Count me in on that kit!!!!! Me absolutle dream car for the last 20 years! People don't understand how cutting edge that thing was then and still is now. I still looks futuristic. And i got a 320hp 2.2turbo waiting for it!

  • I wanna see how the Wraith looks like with 22's:)

  • @tranjohn

    no.. shut the fuck up.

  • What is the name of your site???

  • @strongcurt i guess i can't do a direct link here. just go to: thewraithcar (dot) com

  • is there a kit you could buy and how much did it cost to build the whole thing?

  • @chromedog65 We are offering a kit in the future. Just keep an eye on our site. Thanks!

  • @escaperoute1 your really doing a kit? what vehicles will it be suitable for? i been trying to do a wraith car/third gen camaro for years. any idea on the price of the kit?

  • @KeithWasHere1 The kit process is going slower than i would like to see, but Lyle runs a family business full time and is taking a time out from the Wraith to spend more time with family and get some other things in order. It's bound to happen, but might take a little while longer. I'll write with more info.

  • wow guys, great job on this car! it looks fantastic! sign me up!!!

  • ok thanks keep me informed so i can get

one i like the mysterious look

  • where can i get one of those m4s intercaptor cars at

  • @speedtrap100 We're working on a kit idea molded directly from this original movie prop. At this point we're not sure of a date. Keep watching our website at (thewraithcar *dot* com)

  • Needs the original engine, but I'm definitely interested in a carbon copy replica kit. I'm sure the original engine would be extremely hard to come by, but a lotus headed 2.2 DOHC turbo from a Spirit R/T would work well enough.

  • what the name of your site i would be interested in building one....what would start with to build the car. if you couldn't find the prop

  • This thing needs a twin turbo V6 platform. Then it would be worthy of respect. Kind of a cool concept for it's time. Almost resembles a ford probe in the front and a lotus or ferarri in the rear. Kinda cool car you have there!

  • You've made us proud Lyle, especially me.I always watch the movie in which this car was featured in.I never got tired of staring at the m4s,if your going to make any kits for the m4s,give me a reply.

  • shiet

  • Look bottom line is the wraith car is a guttless wounder. The 2.2 EFI like the Dodge Daytona C.S 86' has a total of less than 200HP with classic mopar factory parts. The AK body style is sleek and that's all I like,The power to weight ratio is low considering the HP vs Weight ratio.the wraith body style is good too.If you want to appriciate the wraith car concept then expand byond this limited model and make somthing better.

  • how much do you want for it

  • Sorry, man. This one isn't for sale. We are, however, making kits in the future. Keep up with our site and you might see a turn-key model come out for purchase. That may take a few years, but it's in the works.

  • @escaperoute1 I went to your website; do you an e-newsletter sign-up? I couldn't find one. I would definitely be interested in getting one of these from you, if and when you ever offer them for sale. The car was definitely the best thing about "The Wraith", an otherwise unremarkable film.

  • @starguy2718 Thats actually being discussed since we're going to re-vamp the site soon. For now, just keep checking back occasionally. We also have the discussion forum linked from our website, there is plenty of discussion going on there if you want to sign up in the meantime.

  • is it a street legal daily driver?

  • This was one of the original movie props. to not damage the structural integrity of the existing frame and body, we only built around it to be a show car. It runs... fast, but it's not going to be street legal. we're building another copy that will be.

  • Hey I thought Lyle was a die hard MOPAR guy? What's with the 'Vette in the background? lol

  • you honestly never know what that guy is going to have in the warehouse. lol

  • I can vouch for this, this is one of the originals my buddy, Wes and I drove all the way to Kansas..it's authentic...hey Wes I know yer on here!!!

  • Original prop cars, that is. i get a lot of flack because people think i'm trying to claim an original M4S. But yeah, it's one of the movie props. Josh, you need to get your ass back up here so you can see the second car! We'll have a road worthy copy in a matter of months. Miss ya, m'friend.

  • Not Orginal is Replika....the Orginal is a Dogde 2,2l 16V turbo (Pace Car Intercepter)

  • Correct. this is one of the movie cars, not the Original Dodge.

  • This is a close replica to the car in the movie. Couple things though I can see wrong off the bat. The movie car at the end had Gull wing doors like on the old Mercs. This one has Lambo doors. The windows on the movie car had a windows like the Subaru Alcyone SVX from 92-97. Last, the sounds just not the same. good try though

  • This is actually one of the prop cars used in the film. We did the lambo style doors because the movie props were flimsy and attached near the windshield by, basically, a piano hinge. The lambo style was a throw-back to the original M4S design, but also helped us keep structural support so we could drive it and show it at car shows. The windows here are original. There was black tape added to the movie cars to make it look like the original M4S windows, which were like the ones you described.

  • in 1986 had several good things ... I like the 80

  • very nice..... belo belo belo

  • u do know the orginal had gawlwing doors not lambo doors

  • The movie props had gull-wing doors, yes, but they were not structurally sound. The original Dodge M4S had lambo style doors and we rebuilt the movie prop as a throw-back to the M4S for structural integrity. Good observation though. I have shots of the prop cars (doors open) and M4S. If you want to see the difference, just drop me a note here.

  • this is hands down one of the coolest things i have ever seen now if it only had the original paint job and it would be complete

  • You guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! My favourite car!

  • Holy shit. I am a 40yr sad SOB who loved this car when the movie first appeared. I would have died to have had one when I was a kid. Is this available now as a replica? Where can I find more details about this? My mind is blown!!! Thank you a million times for posting this. Holy shit hly shit!!! I am Young again!!! :)

  • So 86 was right before Chrysler acquired Lamborghini, take hints of the M4S, the Lamborghini Portofino, and have Marcello Gandini do his thing...voila you have the Lamborghini Diablo...Also if you look at the original Portofino you can see where they got the Interpid from.

Are you planning on adding the window slats as well? Either way its a kick ass car. Congrats!

  • Not on this copy. Since it's one of the original movie props, we're going to keep it looking just like it did in the film. Everything on this car, except for the back glass, is plexiglass. We might build up another copy for the road, make it more like the original M4S standards. That's still up in the air. Thanks for the comments!

  • FANTASTICCCCCCCCCCC CAR . . .. . .

  • FYI to those that say this cars looks like a GT90. The 90 came out a few years after this so the 90 looks like it. Plus the engine in the 90 was just two Taurus engines put together. In fact that car never even ran that well because of imbalance in the design. All stats for the GT90 are estimated. Even if you read some of the old mag articles they commented on this. That means this car is better because at least it is somewhat sorted out.

  • i thought the gt90 engine was 2 lincoln v8's welded togather producing 714 bhp

  • Beautiful car. Loved the movie.

  • I've seen this WRAITH movie car on the internet before. It has 440BHP, with a 4 cylinder twin turbocharged engine with intercooler. It has a top speed of 195MPH and got like 14.5MPG at about 150MPH. Also did 0-60 in just over 4 seconds.

  • looks like a rip of from the FORD GT90 lol

  • lol i thought the same thing...she looks like a ford Gt90...just like the little sister...2.2L twin turbo. the Gt was much faster, i know the gt wins and the M4s was built to be fast and light with a little engine so dont bitch people. anyways gt90 220mph+ coming from a quad turbo V12 just like buggati...stealing ideas i see you bastards!! 720Hp weighting in a 3199Lbs. please Ford bring that baby out and give the veyron a run for her money.

  • My point is this.. there was no technical reason why this car was not allowed to be a american classic and collectable!!! For me personally.. I feel that the cars body style design is so airodynamic fast, those production cars would have been almost un ketchable by law enforcement at the time without a helicopter. The goverment may have had a had in not having the Dodge Turbo Interceptors in production for 4 or 5 years. Does anyone agree or disagree???

  • Oh I thought that Chrysler also helped build it with Dodge, THEN a few years later came out with the Dodge Viper as a result. Or was it that at the time, Dodge and Chrysler was part of the same company?

  • Essentially, they are (or were) one entity. There has been some changes in who owns what since the 80's.

  • OK guys, after doing some snooping around with other youtube videos of the interceptor, i saw the M4S PPG Pace Car. Gave me a better understanding of the car and why it was built. Basically to test on getting as much speed (200 mph) with a light weight car powered by a 2.2 liter twin turbo 16 valve DOHC 4 cylinder engine, which was new high tech in the mid 80s. I still will keep the aluminum body, possibly the reinforce aluminum alloy chassis for less weight then use the 4 cylinder 2.2 engine.

  • Yeah!!! Correct!!!

  • Lets remember the Delorian from the" Back To The Future" movies was a real use to be in prodution car made of stainless steel in the early 80s right, So why not try a aluminum body car? We may have to use a strong but light weight iron chassis for auto safety concerns OK.. more aluminum for the bodys. Am i still making sense guys? Now for the fun part lol The Engine Remember.. its the turbo interceper so its got to be turbo. I was thinking a single turbo 5.0 liter V8 engine. suggestions?

  • Off the back.. I am ex 10+ year U.S. Air Force jet engine aircraft mechanic! so i know about aluminum skin/ frames and magnisium landing gear parts those aircraft are made of.. looks like Vietnam and Korean war area retiees. So.. If i could get a scrap metal deal with the DOD to melt down those aircraft to recycl the aluminum to make my Dodge turbo intercepters bodys and even reniforce aluminum alloys for the chassis for light weight strength. Do you think that i am making sense in 1986 guys?

  • Lets all look at this as adults back in 1986. If i was the CEO of Dodge or mopar back then, This car would have been in production. Possible issues that would have been overcome? I here of molds and composites with this car, so the body must be some type of plastic.. lite weight for speed but may have been too early for 1986 and american safety requierments for strength right? ALUMINUM !!! You all see the aircraft bone yard in the movie with retired military aircraft right? they are still there

  • I was wondering why Dodge never made a production run of the Turbo interceptor? After the movie.. they would have got plenty of sales. And it aint like it a way advance out there design, look at the Pontiac Fiero. I think that was stupid of Dodge all these years, thay would have made Millions of $. Retards

  • can you tell me where i can buy a replika body kit of the interceptor,i have serched it every week but i can not findit , please help me thanks cemo86

  • i live in tucson,az it was filmed on the road to Mt. Lemeon and also towards redintin's pass

  • Oh man... I have wanted this since I was a kid.. I'l trade you my mint 82 delorean for it! Seriously. If not if you ever want to sell it please remember me first. I want that car! My fav movie of all time. I live in AZ. Im actually going down to look at the filming locations this weekend :)

  • the original turbo interceptor is my dream car since I was a child...

I grew with the dream of having one a day...

  • i believe the car in the wraith had the cosworth turbo'd I4 engine. what engine is in yours?

  • i believe there is a 3.8 supercharged engine in it out of a gtp/ or regal gs

  • How replic this car you create? In now this replica is black?

  • This car is one of the original movie prop cars. This is NOT a kit. The paint will be added in the coming weeks and will look just as the car did in the film.

  • Hey escaperoute1 love your work. look at my 1986 turbo interceptor production pitch to Dodge in the recent posts from "lucaswanab" tell me.. am i making any sense???

  • I'm not familiar. Where did you post them?

  • look down.. its on your this video from lucaswanab

  • Gah, i'm ignorant. For some reason i assumed that you meant posts on a different video. Sorry. I see you point, and i can agree. The reason Dodge didn't mass produce this was more for demand. Dodge wasn't ready to mass produce a super car. The entered that era later on with the Viper. I think they could have had a great product here, but they couldn't justify making the M4S at an estimated cost of about %50,000 a piece. Dodge was more known for reliability, a super car just didn't fit.

  • People weren't ready for it, so its been said. But yeah, you're making sense. And i can see alluminium being a good body.

  • Thanks :-) I did more snopping and found out the Vector supercars made in CA has Aluminum bodys with some stanless steel, so it has and is being done. They still could of made a limited production run of the M4S for 1986-87 year with the movie, But it ok.. after seeing the Videos on the Vector car.. i want one of those lol

  • o kurwa!!! jak ja kocham te auto :) O shit!! i'm love this car !!!

  • i've been checking your site for years! you finally did it!

  • Yeah, i love everything about the car, but i cant help feeling it would look much much better in black (gloss) not matt

  • It will be just like it's seen in the movie. The view you have here is just in the body primer. We'll have it painted in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

  • Where'd you buy the kit?

  • Where on earth did you get that car

? I was only aware of 2 left in existence.

  • no coz at the end of the movie jake was like "ther's only one in existance"

  • I though there was only one left and Charlie Sheen owned it.

  • Nice job can't wait to see it all painted.!
