Generally she is hired by the Federation to complete some objective so she can do whatever she wants in order to accomplish the mission, but this time, she gets there by her own and if she wants to join the Adam's group, she must follow Adam's protocols

So... After Super Metroid, she magically becomes dependent on Adam... Tell me how this works? Samus goes from every past game in timeline order, besides Fusion, to an emotional dependent person? Please, enlighten me on how this works?

I have been a Metroid fan my entire life, and this one is the only one that doesn't fit... I guess I can't judge until it comes out...

@RyutheWeredragon But also, Samus' story line goes she was raised by the Chozo after the Pirates destroyed her homeworld, doesn't it? So she should have been Samus from before Zero Mission anyways, and not under Adam before she got the power suit because this takes place inbetween Super and Fusion... That's just my two sense... I wanna see the Varia at least in a preview since it's coming out in a month and a half =P

Here's how the story goes according to all my sources -f or this particular game.

First, Samus has her narrow escape from the Exploding Zebes, as chronicled in Super Metroid.

Then she wakes up in an infirmery, as her ship brought her to one when it detected how weakened she was both mentally and physically after Baby (the metroid) was killed and she freed the friendly animals. (Cont.)

@Steyr455 She starts having flashbacks after a VR session to assure she's mentally okay.

Two sets of flashbacks, one, the ones with Short Haired Samus, is taking place during her tenur as an officer of the Galactic Federation.

The other, where most of the gameplay we've seen is, seems to be another inbetween Metroid and Metroid 2 (Probably just after Prime 3) sequence.

@RyutheWeredragon Ah, makes more sense. I couldn't find much info on Other: M except for what they showed, and that's kinda what I got from it. That's good to know though =) and thanks lol... makes more sense with more of a view. I just think the game story line for M is going to ruin Metroid for an extent, I really hope it doesn't, but that's what I'm getting =/ Prime was kinda the same way at first, so can't judge until it's played =P

@rubyjuly94 Or maybe she's talking about a bomb destruction that Adam is going to sacrifice. Samus mentioned the computer from Metroid Fusion about the sacrifice Adam once made, and how he chose life for her.

a bomb destruction? You mean on the scene this teaser where Samus talks to him in 0:36? And yes, i've heard about the part in Fusion, bit no one quite knows how he died.

@rubyjuly94 Yep but maybe it's something else, we'll just wait and see. But I`m still confused about Adam because Samus said in MF that he was a "machine" obsessed with duty. So was he actually a....hmm nevermind.

Unfortunately, I have only played the original Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission, and Metroid Fusion. In Metroid Fusion, Samus talks about an old CO. who used to call her "lady". I'm pretty sure the man in this trailer is him. Does anyone know if he's mentioned in any other Metroid games?

Yes, these Adam are one and the same.

No, not in another game. He was, though, mentioned and seen in the manga. Thus far, he hasn't had much gameplay time.

see i have an uncle twice removed who works in Nintendo's maintenance dept....and he had a friend of his get some dirt on the upper development...what u dont see right after Samus turns from the glass and the logo comes up, is Ridley crashes through the glass and he's all beat-up and says, "SKREEE, i've traveled back in time u miserable space bitch, and i'm ruling this galaxy with u as my queen, SQUAAWK SKERREE RARK!!...and some space pirates take her captive and u have to entice them in ur cell

I remember when Final fantasy 10 introduced us with "voiced" characters to make the game more life-like. So it was only a matter of time when Nintendo followed up. And it's a good thing they start with Metroid.

Huh.. Have you ever through this was only a cutscene? This is not the gameplay, so you can't judge a game by that.

They are making a emotive Samus. You haven't seen any maps, upgrades, story and you say this.
