They were screwed by the football selection committee to represent the Southern Section to play DeLaSalle High of Northern California for the State championship, although they rolled over the wealthy recruiting private schools and Long Beach Poly (a perennial top team in Southern Cal). They had a totally dominative defense with several shutouts dealt and an immaginative offense. They were truly great.
Birmingham High School in the San Fernando Valley, Southern California. It is a converted military hospital circa WWII. Old bldgs. with long ramped hallways were unique and a source of great pride for the students. 2007 was the year of their greatest football team, probably the best L.A. City school team of all time, with numerous Div 1 players. They were a poor student body and the team wore 2 year old uniforms.
