The corvette shouldn't have been way in the back. I handles good. Not as good as the others, but still good. And on top of that, it has a suspension upgrade from the factory. Tranny in the rear, so weight dist. is good. And its really fast. For the money, its the best, but it should have been faster than that.
@carmodifire Yes definietly the GTR done incredibly well considering the power difference between the Porsche but i reckon maybe 50 more BHP and the R34 would of had it. Even so the Evo VII RS done well aswell keeping up with them two rivals just goes to show you that Japanese can make cars go just as fast with less BHP and small engine sizes.

@87834649 Calm down sparky. No need to yell. Simple fact is that the ZR1 has dominated pretty much all comers on the Ring. It's a three way battle between the ZR1, 911 Turbo, and GTR. All pretty close to the same. And the Vette dominated GT2 class of the Le Mans series for years. Starting with the C5R. The 911 dominates GT3 class. No Japanese car has been competative for a long time. The new GTR shows promiss though. They won last week.
The Porsche is impressive considdering it came stock with all season performcance tires and the GTR has about as close to a race tire as you can get in a street tire. If the tires would have been upgraded on the Porsche to a simaller one, it would have totally destroyed the GTR.
Funny how they used the touring version of the Vett and not the performance one. The Z51 package is esentially the touring car upgrade from base modle. The Z06 on the other hand is all performance. That would have been better suited for this race.

It's great to watch something like this to visually see the differences in each car. The top three look to be very evenly matched, though I believe that the Porsche was not being pushed near as hard as the GT-R or the Evo. Unbelievebale that two cars costing significantly less, with significant power deficits were able to stick with the Porsche. Most impressive must be the Evo!
1st I don't know why they used the regular Z51 instead of the z06? They used Turbo editions of everything else i believe, it still wouldn't be that grand of a challenge but still for fairness.
2nd Do these still come on? I'm so tired of seeing modified sports cars and drag racers instead of stock comeptions like this. Also i would like to see this type of challenge with like the Ford GT and Lambo Galledo

The R34 has yaw control. The only thing it doesn't have is traction control. Which it really doesn't need anyway. It also has 4 wheel steering which the 35 doesn't have.
the new R35 and R34 are similar. They both have the altezza system <- the so called computer stuff. Just that the R35 has a better system and it has the tranny in the back.

I like these races by the Japanese. They are humble professionals and it is fair. I am impressed with the Skyline. The Porsche of course is small, packin power. I am dissapointed in the Corvette z51 and the Ferrari. The NSX I can see it having trouble with the big boyz but it stood fourth. But this is track racing. I didnt think tires are that important in a race. The Japanese automakers are getting impressive with their cars, packed with features, technologically advanced and luxurious.

@Blitz3086 japanese people are loyal to their country i know that because i have done a business trip to tokyo and learned about thier culture, and all you see them driving are small Honda, Daihatsu's, Nissan, and small JDM. you will rarely see a euro car over there. first because japanese are loyal, 2nd eurp cars they are wayy too expensive over there, so your better off buying a JDM car, and 3rd they are not as reliable as a lexus in terms of luxury cost.

Im not sure which part of Tokyo you were at and for how long, but from where I was at for a year, nothing but high end EU cars, mostly German. I get that they are loyal to their country and beliefs, what do you think caused them to loose the Pacific in WW2. Last point, why do you think super cars tend to use German engines? Maclaren used BMW, Zonda uses Mercedes, alot of small time manu use other German engines, why not use Japanese if they're so good? wiki was a reference only.

Well for one, Japan doesn't really have a super car, and if you think the GTR is one, then wow. The US has no choice but to use their own shit (GM Ford Chrysler). You keep telling yourself that they want to keep it local, but then the Ariel Atom used a Honda engine, which isn't super car though more like a glorified go cart. Yeah, I'm sure that a car here and there will beat the 3 or 5 series in one comparison test from one editor, but 1)None have won has many awards as either car, 2) There was never a time when all editors from all magazines have said that an Infinity, Lexus or Acura beat a 3 or 5 series all at the same time. Both series have more awards then either one of the companies can dream of.But I will say that Infinity knows what they're doing.But if it does happen, it only took them 15 years

It's great to watch something like this to visually see the differences in each car. The top three look to be very evenly matched, though I believe that the Porsche was not being pushed near as hard as the GT-R or the Evo. Unbelievebale that two cars costing significantly less, with significant power deficits were able to stick with the Porsche. Most impressive must be the Evo!

1st I don't know why they used the regular Z51 instead of the z06? They used Turbo editions of everything else i believe, it still wouldn't be that grand of a challenge but still for fairness.
2nd Do these still come on? I'm so tired of seeing modified sports cars and drag racers instead of stock comeptions like this. Also i would like to see this type of challenge with like the Ford GT and Lambo Galledo

the evo was by far the cheapest car there and though a 100k 911 turbo is fast you just cant seem to loose those evos. they really eat at your confidence.
im an evo fan for the sheer fact that you drop 5 grand under the hood of that car it would still remain far less expensive than all of the cars on that track... but it would beat them out on the track for sure

The R34 has yaw control. The only thing it doesn't have is traction control. Which it really doesn't need anyway. It also has 4 wheel steering which the 35 doesn't have.

I like these races by the Japanese. They are humble professionals and it is fair. I am impressed with the Skyline. The Porsche of course is small, packin power. I am dissapointed in the Corvette z51 and the Ferrari. The NSX I can see it having trouble with the big boyz but it stood fourth. But this is track racing. I didnt think tires are that important in a race. The Japanese automakers are getting impressive with their cars, packed with features, technologically advanced and luxurious.

dated or not even by todays cars 400 horses is plenty, age of car doesnt matter as long as its maintained - my M3 evo is 10 years old and pushing 330 hp/280 tq and its still an n/a engine - albeit ive chipped it added some pullies and deleted the fan it runs better than most modern cars for its 1500 kg weight

bueno, yo me referia a los modelos basicos, no a modificaciones posteriores para hacerlas mas deportivas. esta el f430 scuderia, el 911 gt2, y si crees que estos todavia no son suficiente para el ZR1, mira el ferrari FXX con 800cv y aerodinamica variable en funcion de la velocidad. por buenos que sean los "muscle car", los modelos europeos siempre estan un paso por delante

El Zr1 esta a mas nivel...que esos es mas dicen que esta a nivel del murcielago lp640....y el FXX es una version de carrera...y cuesta como 3 millones de dolares...no compares ...el ZR1 tiene mas de 620cv....tiene frenos carbono ceramicos (igual que el bugatti Veyron de un millon de dolares)

baya, creo que los porsche y los ferrari tambien pueden montar frenos ceramicos... sobre el papel el ZR1 no hay duda que es un buen coche, pero por muchas cosas nuevas que tenga, todavia tiene suspensiones de ballestas, y estan un poco anticuadas. sabes cual es la mejor forma de comparar dos coches, mete al ZR1, el f430 scuderia, y el 911 gt2 en nurbungring, haber cual gana. yo creo que la respuesta esta bien clara

primero la ballesta transversales no le dan nada de inferioridad al corvette...con esas mismas suspensiones el Z06 (la version inferior del Zr1) hace la vuelta en nururbring en 7:42 ahora usa suspencion Magnetic Selective Ride Control ...es tan buena que el ferrari 599 la usa...este modelito debe despedazar ese tiempo seguro lo baja a los siete minutos y treinta segundos
