  • Old Man Logan was kinda cool especially the art.

  • Is Red Mess for Mars TB came out? I really like to buy Transhuman TB and maybe Pax Romana. Do U know anything about his Series call Plus! ?

  • all i heard was how great kick ass was i read the first issue and was done !!! a 8 year old girl with a samurai sword chopping up gangsters?? sorry dont get it

  • i would like to comment on kick-ass but i haven't been able to get a copy of this damn book since it started. I'm just completely over it now and couldn't care less about reading it. For it being the self proclaimed "hottest comic ever", I really don't hear anyone talking about it and anyone I ask usually replies with "meh, it's ok." So ya, kick-ass can kiss-my-ass. Millar is way over-rated anyway.

  • I love Kick-Ass

  • The new USM is going to be a total crap! the new artist (the one the did USM annual #3) paint like a 10 years old kid and it is no fitting of the style of USM, the current artist is perfect for the title and his art remind the video game a lot.

As much that I like kick ass, the movie is going to sucks! the cast Nicolas Cage to be "Big Daddy"! and they cast a 12 years old Chloe Moretz for the role of Hit Girl! fuck! the character fuck stab a guy through the chin all the way to the head!

  • I read Ultimate Marvel titles when it started, but after awhile, I just didn't like it. Bendis's Spiderman stories never went anywhere, the 'Young & Hip" FF was just sad, and the Ultimates were a bunch of Douche Bags.

One of the worst Ultimate moments I recall, was when the Human Torch and Thing met Thor, and the two of them acted like a couple of star-struck teenage girls who just ran into Johnny Depp.

  • Hickman and Eaglesham should be great on FF.

I read the first 6 issues of Millars run and they were so dull and Hitch's "deadline" art looked so rushed. Kirby could do an FF page in a 2 hours, John Buscema could do a page in 4 hours, Hitch probably couldn't do thumbnails in that time.

The last great run on FF was Mark Waid/Mike Wieringo run, I thought they did some great stories with just gorgeous art.

  • Waid's run on FF was pretty good.

Although, the poor guy caught some flak from fans who took offence that he made Doctor Doom actually evil.

  • Waid's run was freaking awesome man, his Cap America amazing hell this guy rarely dissapoints

  • I liked it too, man. I liked the fact that he made Doom actually evil.

I found it strange and annoying that some fans didn't like Doom cavorting with demons and abducting Richards' children.

When was his Capt. America run? Was that the run with Ron Garney back when Cap was dying?

  • Yep with Garney, I loved that run.

I kinda wish Waid wasn't at BOOM and doing Marvel stuff full time

  • Yeah, putting Waid on Spiderman in the Brand New Day era is like putting sprinkles on shit. It may look better, but its still shit!

  • Yeah, Waid, Kitson and JRJR on Amazing is tempting but I'm still not going back to Spiderman.

Waids Marvel work is usually top quality, that Captain America run along with Busiek's Avengers run were what put Marvel back on the map after the complete abortion that was Heroes Reborn.

  • The way Waid told the story made complete sense that Doom would use magic where science had failed for so many years.

Then when Ben was killed and they had to go to heaven to get him back and god was revealed to be Jack Kirby, now anyone who knows how much I idolise Kirby that was just the best thing ever.

And then the last page where he drew them a happy ending..hey it might have been slightly cheesy but with all the darkness in comics sometimes that kind of ending makes up for all of it.

  • Yeah, it was a cheezy ending but made you feel good though.

I just find it really annoying when certain comic fans get upset when they see villians like Doctor Doom and Magneto being evil.

I got into a fight with a guy called KipplingKat on the Marvel Message Boards about 6 months ago, about why Magneto is a bad guy and not an anti-hero.

The same with Doctor Doom. His name is Doctor Doom not Doctor Nice.

  • Jose I think Kick-Ass was just a movie pitch this whole time, I mean the movie is pretty much done and the comic isn't even finished yet.

Millar has some great ideas and rare spurts of genius, but really he's a huckster, hack, circus ringmaster. I see him no differently than I would Donald Trump, Larry Flint, Howard Stern etc..he's good at what he does, but it's most times without any soul only financial gain.

Which he's earned, but a huckster nonetheless

  • I remember Millars first story for 2000ad back around 1990 called Silo was great and I had high hopes...then he took over Wagner and Grants "Robohunter" strip and ignored the previous characterisation and the inherant humor of the strip and destroyed the character. Then he did a horrible run on Judge Dredd so what he's doing in the USA does not surprise me.

Millar has a tendancy to start off well and then throw in a left field curve during a series and totally screw it up

  • The first 3 issues of Kickass were pretty good then he totally jumped the shark with issue 4 and that ninja prepubescent girl, that was just so fucking stupid.

The minute I saw that I knew Millar was doing a 180 on what he specifically said he was trying to do with the story which was to make a more realistic story.

John Romita Jr is completely wasted on that book.

  • Exactly, LM. That was the exact moment I dropped "Kick Ass" and the exact same reason. All of the sudden this "realistic" comic contains a little girl effortlessly chopping skulls in half with a samurai sword, and I knew I'd been jerked around.

  • Same here the book seems less and less about the main character and more a way for Millar to get his kicks by having a pre-teen lil'girl slaughter people

  • Yeah his starts are good, but like a 55yr old with prostate issues he can't finish strong

  • Stuart Immonen is too powerfull a creative force to be drawing Bendis talking heads over at New Avengers

  • I'm dropping ULT. Spidey

The taint of Loeb is all over the Ultimate U now.
