This guy thinks he's a filmmaker because his camera shoots video? Isn't this guy a photographer? And hes lecturing on film and video and people are looking to him for guidance because? shoot film with your iphone? This guy can tell stories? Where is his work?
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP I too had absolutely no respect for Laforet when he began calling himself a "cinematographer", and when RedRock Micro and Canon first asked him to endorse their HDSLR gear. He was, to put it nicely, wanky and pretentious.
But I have to be honest, he's learning. He now knows he doesn't need the world's greatest gear, and he's starting to become more of a cinematographer. Nowhere near the quality of a cinematographer for a studio feature, but getting better.
I hope this criticism is constructive... the background music was a distraction, for me. With all the other audio problems, (one distorted lav for Vincent with what sounded like a mic placed at the camera location for the interviewer) it was difficult to focus on the information. (btw: a lot of good info, and advice.) Thanks for posting this. Just getting to look in Vincent's bag is enough to satisfy me.
