depends on dyno used. That is also a good bit of info to place on there. for example my sti makes 223 whp on a mustang dyno, whereas on others those numbers could differ by a large amount. It's best to note that so your not spreading your slander everywhere
Well in that case it sounds like the srts "motor" holds together, but maybe the motor does add alittle to much extra stress other places, but hell i guess even evo's and sti's break things early into life, but really anything over 100k can have anything go wrong, or it could just never
i got a 2006 wrx which is essentially the same as sti with lots of minor differences 60k miles runs like a champ if anything wrx would break before sti as its made cheaper...So I strongly believe most the time its how you take care of your car not always about how the car was made imho
Actually.. the transmission and the entire suspension are different from a Neon, including knuckles, sway bars, axles (still too weak for my beatings). If you look at a neon and an srt4 on a lift next to each other the undersides are quite a bit different. There's a lot more holding the SRT together, which it needs. I have broken 2 sets of axles in mine though.. that's with solid motor and tranny mounts. The wheel hop can be brutal. Fast as hell though, and I get 30mpg on the highway.
I own a GT and an SRT-4 The srt is faster than a stock gt yes, but i honestly am hating FWD and how the srt 4 pulls to one side when i accelerate. Now my GT beats pretty much anything after dropping 10gs on it, Had to get a new Block to support the 62mm Single Turbo on it too. SRT-4 now just gets me around :)Im sure if u drop 10g's on anything u can make it quick but the SRT-4 scares me when it pulls like that, dont wnna kill myself u know, im to pretty

There like a Plastic Shell over a Decent Engine Setup. Although there kind of a pain in the ass to work on since everything is so compact. Only probs ive had is the fuel pump.
I have over 105k hard miles on my 04 SRT-4, and the engine is a champ. I did replace the crank seals once at about 65K, which wasn't a really big deal. I had to replace the clutch and a bunch of other things like axles, power steering, wastegate actuator, motor mounts (lower one completely broke), tranny mount. There are some durability issues with them, but I wouldn't say that a Ford would be the fix. I'm thinking Nissan. I couldn't break my old 300zx no matter what.
damn, my gt has over 140k miles and i race it a lot. it runs only high 13's (just some bolt-ons) and i've only had one problem w/ it the a/c went out. everything else car runs like a real champ!

If you beat an 04-05 SRT-4 from a roll in an 07 mustang GT by more than a couple of hairs, then the drivers of the SRT's suck. It's a very close roll race, and the Neon actually has a slight edge due to power to weight ratio. They are 260-270hp with close to 300 lb/ft of torque to the crank (dodge rated them 230hp at the wheels), and weigh about 2900 lbs. No offense to your mustang gt, they're very nice and fast cars. You might win down the 1/4 mile because of traction.

It doesn't matter how fast you "see" them being.. Facts are facts, and more than one magazine tested them at a 13.9-second 1/4 mile new. Taking into account how incredibly hard it is to launch that car, being that it's FWD only, that's a fast car. With a competent driver, they pull more like a mid-to-low 13-second car on the highway. The only thing that holds them back is the FWD launch. You should drive one and race a stock STI from a roll. If you can drive it, you'll be impressed.
well from what i read on google youre right but these people are also running dynos that tend to run the numbers higher than suppose too my 06 wrx has like 202 whp stock and is heavier than a srt4 i believe so like i said before the driver had to be god awful or he had a bad tunewhich from racing him it didnt look like either but he looked real surprised that i kept up my friend said he might have beat me by like half a hood if that...
Yeah, once again.. bad driver, or the car wasn't running right. I know my srt-4 was a little bit faster than my current 350z, which is no slouch. My trap speeds and 1/4 mile times were always faster in that, even when it was beat to hell.
14-15 PSI is the stock output for an 04-05 SRT-4. Like he said, they spike to 15 and drop off a bit as the revs build. Mine does the same thing, and did stock.

hey dumbass, they run 650-750 cubic inch motors, not 572's. the pro stock guys a running lower to mid 600 cube motors and most of em use hemi (hemispherical for those who dont get it) heads. and honestly a 572 is fine for racing, but you see more sb350s and 400's. not only cause they are cheaper, but for a normal person its easier to squeeze 700 hp out of one

572 crate motor has 800hp and 910tq on a modest n/a set up. If you have a high efficiency supercharger you can EASILY double the cars hp especially when you are talking about the 572 Ci displacement. But you obviously don't know what you are talking about so I am wasting my time trying to explain this to you.

@xsvpaintballkid i know of 2 cars personally which are street legal that put out 1600+ hp... they normally run closer to 1000 or 900 on the street but the one car the guy drives to work... he has been known to shut the car down and flip the switch to the auxilary fuel tank and full race tune at the lights haha... ive never driven them but the 1164RWHP Z06 i drove was just fine to drive.

depends on dyno used. That is also a good bit of info to place on there. for example my sti makes 223 whp on a mustang dyno, whereas on others those numbers could differ by a large amount. It's best to note that so your not spreading your slander everywhere

Well in that case it sounds like the srts "motor" holds together, but maybe the motor does add alittle to much extra stress other places, but hell i guess even evo's and sti's break things early into life, but really anything over 100k can have anything go wrong, or it could just never

i got a 2006 wrx which is essentially the same as sti with lots of minor differences 60k miles runs like a champ if anything wrx would break before sti as its made cheaper...So I strongly believe most the time its how you take care of your car not always about how the car was made imho

Actually.. the transmission and the entire suspension are different from a Neon, including knuckles, sway bars, axles (still too weak for my beatings). If you look at a neon and an srt4 on a lift next to each other the undersides are quite a bit different. There's a lot more holding the SRT together, which it needs. I have broken 2 sets of axles in mine though.. that's with solid motor and tranny mounts. The wheel hop can be brutal. Fast as hell though, and I get 30mpg on the highway.

I own a GT and an SRT-4 The srt is faster than a stock gt yes, but i honestly am hating FWD and how the srt 4 pulls to one side when i accelerate. Now my GT beats pretty much anything after dropping 10gs on it, Had to get a new Block to support the 62mm Single Turbo on it too. SRT-4 now just gets me around :)Im sure if u drop 10g's on anything u can make it quick but the SRT-4 scares me when it pulls like that, dont wnna kill myself u know, im to pretty

Yea when you go from rwd to fwd it take some adjusting. I went from a camaro to srt-4 and the first few times i drove the srt it was different. Im used to it now though, but feel weird as hell in rwd cars. My mom about went into a gaurd rail the first time she drove my car...she hasnt driven since

Hmm.. I don't get that kind of torque steer in mine. What year is yours? Mine tracks straight ahead, but you can feel it tugging from side to side a little bit, but not to just one side. The LSD is supposed to help, which was part of the 04-05 upgrade from the 03's.

Yeah come on everyone lets not be dumb here, srt4 will out run my stock 5.0 mustang, or say a 2004 GT, but the 05 and up does have 40 more horse power, and pulls 0-60 times that are impressive, but heres an honest question, do those srt4 neons hold together? does anyone have any experience with that, cause we all know regular neons really dont hold together

There like a Plastic Shell over a Decent Engine Setup. Although there kind of a pain in the ass to work on since everything is so compact. Only probs ive had is the fuel pump.

I have over 105k hard miles on my 04 SRT-4, and the engine is a champ. I did replace the crank seals once at about 65K, which wasn't a really big deal. I had to replace the clutch and a bunch of other things like axles, power steering, wastegate actuator, motor mounts (lower one completely broke), tranny mount. There are some durability issues with them, but I wouldn't say that a Ford would be the fix. I'm thinking Nissan. I couldn't break my old 300zx no matter what.

damn, my gt has over 140k miles and i race it a lot. it runs only high 13's (just some bolt-ons) and i've only had one problem w/ it the a/c went out. everything else car runs like a real champ!

If you beat an 04-05 SRT-4 from a roll in an 07 mustang GT by more than a couple of hairs, then the drivers of the SRT's suck. It's a very close roll race, and the Neon actually has a slight edge due to power to weight ratio. They are 260-270hp with close to 300 lb/ft of torque to the crank (dodge rated them 230hp at the wheels), and weigh about 2900 lbs. No offense to your mustang gt, they're very nice and fast cars. You might win down the 1/4 mile because of traction.

No, it's not BS. If you were neck and neck with an 04-05 srt-4 from a roll with an 06 wrx, something was wrong with the srt-4 or the driver. Look up some dynos, they will prove what I said about roughly 230whp. You think I would make this stuff up? It's too easy to disprove made-up numbers with the information so easy to get online. My last car was an 04 srt4. With 90,000 miles on it, with a bad clutch, broken motor mounts, and on crap tires, I ran a 13.72@104.63mph. i have the timeslip

It doesn't matter how fast you "see" them being.. Facts are facts, and more than one magazine tested them at a 13.9-second 1/4 mile new. Taking into account how incredibly hard it is to launch that car, being that it's FWD only, that's a fast car. With a competent driver, they pull more like a mid-to-low 13-second car on the highway. The only thing that holds them back is the FWD launch. You should drive one and race a stock STI from a roll. If you can drive it, you'll be impressed.

well from what i read on google youre right but these people are also running dynos that tend to run the numbers higher than suppose too my 06 wrx has like 202 whp stock and is heavier than a srt4 i believe so like i said before the driver had to be god awful or he had a bad tunewhich from racing him it didnt look like either but he looked real surprised that i kept up my friend said he might have beat me by like half a hood if that...

Yeah, once again.. bad driver, or the car wasn't running right. I know my srt-4 was a little bit faster than my current 350z, which is no slouch. My trap speeds and 1/4 mile times were always faster in that, even when it was beat to hell.

14-15 PSI is the stock output for an 04-05 SRT-4. Like he said, they spike to 15 and drop off a bit as the revs build. Mine does the same thing, and did stock.
