  • These orcas don't apply to this but i hate to see orcas fins droop it doesn't look healthy in a way and it certainly doesn't look like an orca I think having these huge animals perform is stupid we dont need orca shows

  • Honestly, stop thinking in terms of how happy the dolphins are (because they are dolphins). That's a big concern, but we can't really KNOW. Regardless of if Sea World donates, think of what Shamu does for people. Education. It needs to happen. And I for one think that since Sea World now has a captive population, they should do more breeding to avoid taking from the wild, if possible. Because I do think it would suck to live in an ocean and move to a tank.

  • my uncle designed these mega screens, and my dad works for the weather service, checking their weather instruments. we've got lots of affiliation with sea world.

  • THE OLD DAYS WHEN THE SHOW WAS NOT BORRING!

  • @Mrsequals3 Most of these Orcas were born in captivity, so they weren't taken from their family. And they've all got a family, whether it's blood or not, a pod is a pod. And how could they possibly force them to do anything? They are trained to react to commands, they aren't taught how to jump, all the "tricks" are natural behaviors except one, they are just taught to react at a command, but they don't have to if they don't want to. If they don't want to do it, they don't.

  • All you people saying that they are doing what they love and they want to be here are wrong. Its just that simple obviously you don't have the brain capcity to think about how you would feel if you were taken from your family never to see them again. Forced to do tricks for another species ( the same species that took you away from your family) But youd probably like that right? Orcas don't to be forced to do tricks! And yes it is force because if it wasn't they wouldnt need to be trained.

  • @Mrsequals3 What a fabulously uneducated paragraph. How can you metion "brain capacity" when you havn't even been bothered to find out that SeaWorld havn't captured whales for at least 30 years? These whales have their family with them. They're not "forced" to perform, and they're fed whether they perform or not. It's just that if they perform, they get rewards. It's positive reinforcement. They're never punished. You're "trained" to write, but that doesn't mean you're forced to, does it?

  • @Mrsequals3 umm...have you actually seen the size of these whales? if they didn't want to do what they're doing, they wouldn't. no human being could push them around.

  • @CountryBuff08 .... *COUGH* TILLY *COUGH COUGH*

  • you couldn't pay me enough to swim with an orca!

  • this is amazeing they LOVE what they do its just like dogs doing tricks for food same thing they like it and they would not do it to be crual

  • I'm booking a surprise for my family I did my research at bestvaluethemeparks (.) com

  • I hate this iPhone it won't let me see the videp

  • which whale is that in the beginning

  • @missnoodles996 ok thanks for telling me

  • I never realized just how fast orcas were. They're speed machines! And yet so majestic and powerful, and gentle, at the same time.

  • hey two clever post in a row i am impressed ^^ not that trash tlaking about captivity and unfair ^^ i only can say yes your right gus i am with you ^^ btw unfair is what we thing i dont think that these animals have the understanding of freedom as we have i thing there feeling well with their friends and trainers

  • Oh my good goodness i am going to sea world tomorrow!!! ahhhh im so ready for the show and everything else! I havent been there inna long time, so its gonna bring so many memors being there....R.I.P daddy♥ :)

  • Okay, serious? I am sure you are some animal conservationist who just wants to parade around saying shit. Trust me I love Orcas, but you have to look at the whole picture. These animals have grown up relying on humans, and throwing them in the ocean would pretty much be killing them, even with years and years of training. Plus, this is also a good way to get some attention towards the species and generate some interest to try and conserve the few that are left in the wild.

  • you do realize that seaworld has a very good rehabilitation program right?! They get these whales that have been hit by boat propellors, and have been injured by other humanly things, and they give them a chance at survival, and a healthy life. These shows aren't to make money, they are to educate the public about the dangers they go through in the wild. They do the shows because by the time they heal fully, they aren't able to live in the wild on their own. Do research before you post!

  • @tmbl91 None of these orcas have been rescued. SeaWorld destroyed the Southern Resident Population of orcas as a whole. Furthermore, their conservation fund is a sham. They donate 0.07% of their annual profits to conversation only because the law requires it. Learn the truth behind this industry!

  • I HATE this show the old one was sooooo much better and because of this show i had to do a stupid ass school project on why i should belive i bet the whales are even sayin it sucks BRING BACK THE OLD SHOW

  • i went when i was in yr 3 iam now in yr 9!

    12 august my birthday!

  • does anyone know all the songs they play in this show?

  • no I think they made it them selves

  • It's SeaWorlds own soundtrack. I think you can buy it from their website but I'm not sure.

  • i love believe <333

  • thanks for stealing the show its been 8 years since Ive been there

  • I would totally love this show sooooooooooo much!!!

  • the show is ok i guess

  • o i watched da same video of da boy in sea world at san diego <3

  • Oh. I was actually looking for the Orlando Florida show but well, its exactly the same. Thanks for posting

  • omg when i went there, i sat in the splash zone, and i stopped breathing when shamu splashed me and my friends.(i went there for a field trip)

  • let me guess, the 6th grade corona ranch field trip? or some other school? (I went on the same day)

  • No, actually I was in 5th grade.

  • Yeah, I guess it's just better to kill them all...

  • I WAS THEIR!!!!!

  • i went to seaworld and the show is different now

  • i will believe and you cant stop me believing =)

  • lol.... i never been to seaworld but i KNOW id love it!! i dont even know how it could be possible to hate seaworld..

  • lol i have to leave a comment here. Idiots who say they are mistreating these animals and making them do tricks for food and for that its animal abuse are as dumb as a pile of crap. People have dogs and have them shake paw or do tricks for treats everyday. These animals enjoy doing what they are doing. They love swimming around and horseplaying.

  • @youbetya22 Average captive orca life span: 8 years. Average wild orca life span? Well over 50. Think before you post.

  • Yeah because life span is ALWAYS connected to orca happiness. Id be more concerned about the Japanese destroying 1k's of whales and dolphins before id consider seaworld mistreating their animals.

  • @youbetya22 They commonly die from stress, in light of that prospect happiness and life span can indeed go hand in hand. Furthermore, SeaWorld has decimated the oceans and has severely damaged the Southern Resident orca Population as a whole, simply for captures to make more profit at their parks. Captivity is wrong.

  • God creates many creatures. I wish we could be equal.

  • Wauw,

  • Its been my dream to be a shamu trainer or a dolphin trainer

  • I WAS THERE!!

  • cool video

  • Awesome Footage! =]=] Loved It!!

  • it is so barbary!! what they do with the dolphins... I do not belive how people are exited of it... the poor dolphins have to do those stuff to get there food... they do not "enjoy" or "happy" from it!!!!! wake up people!!!

  • @junkyfat2 They do not have to perform for food, they are fed throughtout the day anyway and food is just reinforcement. Apparently, the whales and dolphins respond more to love and attention from the trainers every day. They actually do seem to enjoy being with their trainers, and all the evidence shows that they are happy. They eat well, interact with each other, are free from health problems behave normally, as they would in the wild.

  • i might be going there on boat mums thinking about it

  • theres nothing wrong with seaworld they love there orcas they take great care with them there still great sight 2 c captive or non captive

  • What do you mean by never have food taken away? Only way to take it would be pump their stomach, as they are given food throughout the day in exchange for performing, they can't be "forced" to do this crap, but if they don't want to do it then no fish...I guess that's not force if you want to be technical

  • I went to Seaworld yesterday!!

  • Thats like saying having a pet dog is so cruel because you saw some running wild in Mexico last month and thought it was a beautiful sight to see. These animals are far from mistreated.

  • This is the best show ever, we saw it twice this year, April 2008, can't wait to see it again. Great to have these videos on YouTube to bring back the memories.

  • i just saw this today XD!!!!!

  • i hate this music its annoying as hell, they should play the Free Willy soundtrack instead

  • you are an IDIOT brilliant affair you freggin fag they cant live on their own

  • What's the name of the song they play in the show??

  • i wish to be a shamu trainer when i grow up!

  • me too!

  • I cant wait to go for the third time in august (:

  • FANTASTIC!!! i went last year and i thought it was excelent, its not cruel at all!! the whales have been raised there and have bonded with humans! also they havnt taken them from their natural habitat the majority have been brought to be safe as they were injured in the wild! great job! id love to go again

  • its not the nicest thing to do to them, however out of many parks that hold orca's seaworld takes care of theirs the best. which i why i never go to marine land, and why i go to seaworld.

  • You think they're better off in the wild? People hunt whales and dolphins mercilessly today. In fact sea world does the most to help raise awareness on marine life and help nurse them to good health and release the animals in captivity. All these whales and dolphins performing are born in captivity and could never live outside it, sea world is just trying to show us what magnificent creatures they are.

  • Bruises wrote:In fact sea world does the most to help raise awareness on marine life and help nurse them to good health and release the animals in captivity.

RELEASE THEM IN CAPTIVITY? if that was a typo, and you meant release them back to the ocean, think again, unless you have some stories of Sea World releasing a marine mammal that I am not aware of....

  • There was no typo you misread it, when i meant release the animals in captivity i meant the animals in captivity were being released maybe i should have added another word to make it clearer, but it proves that I'm human and make mistakes, apparently so do you if you misread it. ANd I said that the animals that are INJURED from the wild are rehabilitated and released, and the animals born in captivity cannot leave because they cannot survive due to not knowing what to do in the wild.

  • Well, I still would like to know of cases where Sea World was involved in or responsible for rehabilitating any animals. They have been known to want no part in taking in any cetacean whom was injured and therefore could not be exploited for profit. They are only interested in candidates who will be good slaves for their water circus. But I apologize for misunderstanding your comment.

  • They have a whole program for rehabilitating Manatees (not a cetacean i know) but they do rehabilitate animals such as Sea lions and oil spill victims I just know they participate in programs like WWF and such (i'm not sure exactly which) and animals born in captivity simply cannot be released simple fact, they don't pull from the ocean wild whales because they're dangerous just ones bought from other zoos or wild life parks.

  • They have several who were wild caught-- Corky, Tillikum, Katina, Kasatka and Ulises. I also have news for you... All of them are dangerous, this is a wild animal capable of killing a blue whale and a great white shark. You wouldn't catch me swimming with them, they have been known to injure and kill their trainers, even those bred in captivity

  • They're all dangerous don't get me wrong this is not news for me. And yes I do know that there have been attacks on trainers. But without knowledge of this we won't be living with ANY creatures on this planet let alone whales, the planet is dying slowly and they just wanted to but a little wisdom in to our heads so that maybe when I have kids there will be killer whales existing in our oceans.I know for a fact whale populations are diminishing due to food sources being over fished they need help

  • These parks have only decreased the populations of orcas and dolphins by catching them, even those caught in the past still affect the populations in the wild. They exist in the wild in pods, when captures occured, not only those captured were missing but those that died during the capture. Those pods have since struggled to recover. Orcas overall are not near extinction, but the pods individually suffered.

  • In addition to that, the parks that breed and enslave dolphins and orcas are doing so not to replenish those missing in the wild, they are doing so to continue their selfish money-making business. Because after all, according to them, and you, those bred in captivity cannot live in the wild. So how is their water circus helping wild dolphins or orcas?

  • All i can say is knowledge is power, and I certainly have learned more from the seaworld parks. But since this is not a debate and we don't have concrete evidence to support our ideas lets agree that whales are indeed great creatures and we admire them and forget about agruing. The person who posted this must be getting sick of our nonsense. And I can't be battle with you everyday now, school has started and papers need to be turned in. So thank you for your engaging debate

  • I have school too so I understand you needing to focus on other things, I just wanna make it clear to all of you that say you love these animals and still gorify Sea World and enjoy watching people surf on orcas and ride on their noses and degrade them, that what you are supporting is as sickening as going to a circus and watching bears ride motorcycles and tigers jump through flaming hoops because you "love bears and tigers"

  • If I get proof of they mistreating their animals then maybe I'll understand your point of view, but I haven't. I just found the show enchanting rather than cruel. The animals and people seemed to understand one another which is a beautiful thing. The whales wouldn't listen to the trainers if they were being cruel, they'd attack them. They're captive but not stupid. And dolphins are naturally friendly, they seem to love attention.

  • And I'm not "glorifying" Seaworld, just saying that they have tried to teach us. Even in these little shows they tell you tidbits about the animals. This show was made to make people more aware. I saw it first hand, not just on this video. The video showed only the most interesting parts not the whole show where they talked to the audience about the animals. It was beautiful, and touching in my eyes, not cruel.

  • @KVedd Do you honestly think that those whales would allow people to "ride on their noses" if they were unhappy? They do not degrade the whales, they treat them with the highest respect, and they don't even call them orcas. They call them killer whales even behind the scenes, to remind themselves that they work with the top predators. You can't do this with a killer whale unless you trust them and they trust you.

  • @KVedd They are helping because they have a conservation fund, and donated over $1million last year to conservation efforts. Their own charity, the SWBG Conservation Fund, rescues stranded or injured dolphins, turtles, birds and manatees every day, then treats and releases them. Numerous news articles on their successes can be found.

  • @KVedd Yep, that's an occupational hazard. The trainers know the risks, and they spend 3 years building up their trust until they finally get to even try getting in the water.

  • ahahahaha[;

i cannot wait till I go there again on Febuary 16,2008!

    im like supper excited ;D

  • i was there, the other day, and from that day... a shamu was my favorite animal... i buy me a big teddy og shamu, and im sleeping with it every night... i mean... LOOK AT IT!!!

  • fantastic show! i want to work there! fabulas filming well done

  • You must have an athletic physical condition, psychological training, a diving license the top class and very very very very good luck to have this job to get. It is one of the most popular jobs in the world!

So it is as good as impossible to get a job like this.Ich have already tried it myself.

  • im gonna try.

  • i loved this show it was awsome

  • You have surely also the music of the show. I played the drums

And every time when I listen to music I am always overwhelmed by what we put on the legs. It was an honor working my full contribution to the completion of the soundtrack to afford. I hope that you also enjoy the music. Greetings. (Excuse me if my English is not so good. ;-)

  • oh my god i am getting annoyed with people commenting on these videos saying

'oh my god there being craul'

    its gettin on my nerves.

sea world are so loving towards there animals

    there never craul

there doing a good thing for them

they are endangered if they are in the wild

    from hunters

    i love sea world

    and i love shamu<3

  • ure right

  • @gizzyiscute No believe it or not they are not endangered if they were they would be on the endangered species list check your facts next time sweetie and btw there's no reason to cheer for seaworld when these whales don't live up to their life expectancy shows how much u know =D

  • i saw this in orlando its just amazing i got soaked with his water it smelled lol

  • i saw that the other day

    its amazing!

  • this isnt captivity most of these animals were rescued or born in sea world parks and it would be too dangerous to release them into the wild

  • A good lesson for us all, Safe but not free just like America is becomming...

  • Thanks!! Watched it with my kids, we're going in a few days and now we're even more excited. Thanks for the video!

but u have 2 b there 2 get the whole excitment

  • oh i love the shamu show. i were there this summer and it´s one of the beautifulest things I´ve ever seen!!! I LOVE SHAMU!!!!!

    mona (12 years austria)

  • So sad...DONT SUPPORT CAPTIVITY

  • I do! It lived for about 10 years! That is how long cats grow to live! I don't nesscerilly support showing animals in shows but if they enjoy it, why not!

  • You have a point with captivity. I don't support captivity for animal experimentation, but this isn't sad at all. The trainers and the Orca have a bond together, and at Sea World they're given the best care and never have food taken away. As for shows, how many people can force an 8000 pound animal with big teeth to do tricks for no food? Not many. It would attack them if it really hated what it was doing. No offence is meant here by the way. xx

  • dam that whale is huge. and it can jump so high. im in australia. and i c there is like 3 sea worlds in america. wat one has shamu?

  • All of them.

  • wait, theres 3 different shamus? or does he just go to all 3 of em time by time?

  • the whales aint each called shamu. The biggest one is called ones name is Shamu and the goup of them are called the shamu family. I cant remember the indivdual names of the other whales tho..

  • "Shamu" is a stage name, and a title given to all of the whales in all three of the parks. The original Shamu was a female who died years ago.

The orcas at this park in San Diego all have their own individual names:

    Corky

    Ulises

    Orkid

    Kasatka

    Sumar

    Nakai

    Kalia

  • the one in orland has "the" shamu, but the other to have whales also called shamu. Its like a family name for all the orcas in each of the parks

  • Shamu died a long time ago!

  • oh my god...i was just there...the Believe show bugs me just because of the intro...the whole thing with the kid..and how people THINK its the trainer

  • Agreed!

  • This is so cool! It is amazing! Has anyone seen the dolphin show video? Has anyone one seen them for real? I have!

  • i aint seen the video, but saw the show like ten times. loved it!

  • wow. how do they make a animal co-operate and be so playfull. amazing.

  • Lots and lots of work and training and time! I might do that when I get older!

  • the beggining of the show is sad, i nearly cried today

  • wow! yesterday i wen there and everything was still the same

  • Sea World

'You love it until you realize what really happened to Shamu'

    Come Today

  • such magic

  • Very nice quality!

  • music was beutiful

  • I love the show, and I also love it when SeaLions Tonite makes fun of it, lol!

  • I have seen the Believe Show too, it was a few years ago and it was in Orlando, Florida ! It was sooo great, I love Orcas and I love Sea World. It's so worth seeing it!! The whole Sea World was a great experience with Shamu and the dolphins and the sharks and the roller coaster and the journey to Atlantis,

ohhh I love it!! Thanks so much for posting these vids!

  • The first Corky has lost seven babies, they started breeding her at age 6, she was still a baby. These whales do get angry, two of them are kept away from people and other whales. Corky was stolen from her family. How can we think this is ok?

  • Incredible animals.

  • i saw this before, its so inspiring

  • how many orcas do they have.?

  • SWC have 7 orcas. Ulises, Kasatka, CorkyII, Sumar, Orkid, Nakai and Kalia. Great video :)

  • haha, ur mom's dead!

  • my mom aint dead and i didnt do tht some one got onto my a count and did it those thing is dumb

  • lol instant puberty
