  • Actually... It was King Henry VIII And yet that is not a picture of the beautiful Anne Boleyn.

  • I really like this song, i have a more basic version of it in my channel if anyone wants to check it out. I hope someone can help me improve it, because i think i should have used a different tune

Nice video you have here btw :) Thumbs up!

  • Apparently it's unlikely that King Henry VIII composed Greensleeves because the particular harmonic structure is of an Italian form that didn't reach England until after his time. Also, I find it hard to believe that he could have written a melody like this!

  • this is actually the best, one ive herd on you tube yet, most of them are just people trying ot play green sleeves, this is a awsome song, i believe that the king wrote this song may be,and had some one work on the musicial part as he paid them, may be batoven before he died, as he had a lot of un finished works

  • Whatever the history may be on the song, it is all besides the point. The point is, it is a fantastic song that really makes you relax.

  • Omg wait I'm not white!!!!!!

  • Weird. I've only ever heard this song as "What child is this?". Love it, though.

  • This was my Favorite lullaby as a child, and still makes me cry...

This song is just so beautiful.

  • beautiful

music is great because of pieces like this

  • Why does that person look like it could be Justin Bieber's ancestor?

  • wow that woman is pretty....who is she...n who wrote this song

  • do you know what "pretty" means?

  • Comment removed

  • written by Henry VIII not Henry XIII

  • Yeah, there's a HUGE difference in eight and thirteen.

Written by Henry the EIGHTH, not thirteenth.

  • what does it matter who wrote it? the person is dead anyhow;D

  • @christianity919 If you have the talent to write something like this you have the right to be remembered dont you think?

  • It´s wunderful! I love it!

  • IT HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED WHO COMPOSED THIS, however, they SUSPECT King Henry XIII composed it.

  • I think there is certainty that Henry didn't write it, and i think most historians attribute the creation of this song to either Bon Jovi or Duran Duran.

  • Henry composed it for Anne Boleyn because she weared a green sleeve.. srii my englisch is not soo good :(

  • This song is probably one of the most beautiful, most calming songs ever composed. I am grateful to whoever composed this song. I am learning how to play this on the piano. :)

  • @sakuxsaku4ever I´ve heard Henry VIII has this composed for his 2th wife Anne Boleyn :)

  • Historians are pretty sure it was _not_ King Henry VIII who wrote it, but they don't know who did.

  • y post that comment on this? i dont understand

  • I'm learnin how to play this me too and I love this music.

  • I'm learning how to play this right now.

  • i really want to learn this song

  • I believe it was Henry VIII who composed it.

  • It was Henry VIII. It was either composed for Anne or Catherine

  • I think it was Anne.

  • It's not sure, there's a sort of legend about who composed it. However, it's very very beautifull.

  • enrique wtf?

  • it's called midi people... look it up

  • I CAN play it and I love it so much, but this version isn't the best, there are better ones. But better than nothing ;)

  • Could you tell me where i can find the best version please???

  • totally love this song!! i'm learning how to play it on the piano know = )

  • Sounds like an e-piano of the late 80s without pressure-sensitive keys.

  • "My Lady Greensleeves" as depicted in an 1864 painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

  • qho is that woman please? is very urgent

  • I'm not really sure, might be the England queen: Anna Boleyn (in a young, pretty look) 'cause it was believed that king Henry VII composed this song,

the truth is the painting is "My Lady Greensleeves" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Who knows, might Dante painted this because (as the king) he was in love with her, but she didn't noticed him, so he loved her in secret. Perhaps she wasn't Anna Boleyn but Dante's secretly loved one.

  • It's Anne Boleyn.

  • @E4492 I thought that greensleeves was written for jane seymour.

  • @nintendomania12 no for Anne Boleyn ...

  • @E4492 or maybe he was so inspired by the music, that he made his own greensleeves Lady...

  • Beautiful....

  • This is sweet!

  • Where's the sheet music?

  • who is that woman?

  • idk the greensleeve lady lol

  • "My Lady Greensleeves" as depicted in an 1864 painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

  • wow, that was so beautiful

  • thank you!!!!!!

  • I actually want to know what this song is about, can i plz have some help?

  • Legend has it that it was made by Henry VIII and his once unrequited love for Anne Boleyn, who later became his second wife. Some say that it wasn't written by him though but either way it is about a lover spurned.

  • very nice!! Would you please show me where I could find this sheet music? The one I found is simple so not so beautiul on the piano. Thanks!

  • Beautifil!! Thenk you very much for uploading :)

  • maybe u can help me by telling me is this pianist play the right tempo of this song?well..i think its too slow.

  • it is the right tempo, most of the pianists play it too fast...

  • well..and how about my greenslevees..is it the tempo ok?
