  • god always takes the good ones & Danny was the best sorely missed forever remembered R.I.P.

  • @chancebf324 You idiot,

  • @chancebf324

    what an absolute KNOB-ED

  • Perhaps one of the saddest moments in rock and roll history, we lost a great man way too soon,

  • Bruce whispers in his ear "What a beautiful night" so amazing. you can tell he really loved Danny

  • 2 years, man oh man....

  • I have seen Springsteen and his band in concert over 20 times. Ok so I'm a Jersey Girl. Danny you will be missed. Rest in peace. I cried watching this video. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Sissy-I can't believe you are gone and sooo young-be at peace and in no more pain my sweet angele sister-it was songs like this that we listened to over and over years ago-we were the sisters back in our day-I will forever miss your contagious laughter and smile-Love-your one and only sibling and sister-butch

  • very sorry for your loss. it really is a beautiful song. hope you have alot of good memories of your sister when you hear this song.

  • Ciao Danny , ci manchi tanto !!!

  • Great!

  • I was there that night, as Danny departed the stage and held onto the handrails, as he walked slowly down the stairs, it occurred to me that Danny was walking into eternity . . .

  • touching...

    about my favorite Bruce song

    bittersweet

  • havent cried for a bit, this one brought the tears to my eyes, incredibly touching. Bye Danny, god Bless your soul ...

  • Was so moved by watching the band say goodbye to Danny for the last time on stage. What a wonderful moment. You can just see the grief and love that they feel. Rest in peace Danny

  • Bruce, you make me happy, goodbye Danny !

  • My God . Last night I watched my Hammersmith Odeon 75 DVD and there was Bruce and Danny from so many years ago, singing this haunting song, And now Danny's done and Bruce, just like the rest of us who grew up in the 70s, is showing his age. It's true that time waits for no one. I have walked many a mile listening to this man's music and I pray I get to walk many more

  • Canterà lui per te ...sa del tuo amore per lui

  • martedi sarò a torino ...bruce !!!!!!spero canterai sandy per me.

  • What a beautiful tribute. Love you danny.

  • 3.09 You can see bruce almost tear up

  • BRUCE-The Pride of the Jersey Shore!

  • That's me screaming 'Wooo!! Danny!! Woo!". I'm a young big Springsteen(21) and this song is amazing. Reminds me of summer, which is currently the best one I've had. Saw Bruce three times. AMAZING. Thanks Dad for getting me into GREAT music.

  • bruce,I love you!

  • DANNY!

  • Hey can anyone answer this-I have an original album with the song sandy on it- he sings it like on this recording but the words listed on the side are different instead of talking about the waitress it says angels lost there desire I've heard it sung both ways but the way he sings it here is the way I first heard it does anyone know where the different versions came from- thanks

  • The version with the angels lyric is from the Live 1975 - 85 box set from the mid-80s. It's not a studio album. The waitress version is the original from The Wild, The Innocent, The E Street Shuffle album from 1973. That one is a studio album.

    Hope that helps.

  • Love ya forever Danny !!!! Every concert I'll ever go to in the name of Springsteen and the E-Street Band is dedicated to you Danny !!

  • that concert . . .I can tell Bruce was heavy with the knowing that his friend was out of time. . . it's in his eyes when he looks at Danny, and in his face when they play. . . the sublety of it is almost as devestating as the reality

  • so sad...gone but never forgotten

  • 2:44 and they say he can't sing. Sigh SING IT BRUCE!

  • like

JJSHIZZ said... there are no word´s... i can just dream away and almost feel the summer evening winds blow in asbury park.. and all the lights and carnival on the boardwalk. almost like i´v been there at that time asbury park was at it´s peak of years.

thank you bruce and east street band... i love you so much

    /daniel . jkpg sweden

  • there's no words

  • oh danny... RIP... goodnight

  • it was his last goodbye

  • my girlfriens name is Sandy. :)

im going to ask her to marry me on July 4, 2009.

    :)

and yes. i am a girl. yes. i am a lesbian.

  • Congratulations! Best of luck to you and your beautiful partner! :) Wait though, you're only 14?... uh, better wait on that, girly.

  • The Boss does it again!!! This song stirs up memories for every person who had the opportunity to grow up in a shore town in this great country! Brings me back to my boyhood days in Scituate, MA ! Long live The Boss!

  • what else could I ever add? Words cannot convey what my heart feels by listening to something that captures my soul and makes me fly away to music's heaven...Thank you very much indeed to Theghost62. Greetings from Sardinia.

  • i was there that night, totaly awsome performance

  • if u dont care about what i said then why did u post a comment

  • if u dont give a shit then why do you keep replying

  • I give a shit, that's fucking rad man.

  • Yeah dude ignore him, that's awesome that you were there I'd kill for that : )

  • Rock On Danny !!!

  • AWESOME!

  • This was Danny's last time on stage. If you look at Bruce's eulogy he talks about this. He asked Danny what he wanted to play and he said Sandy. He wanted to strap on the accordion and revisit the boardwalk of our youth during the summer nights when we'd walk along the boards with all the time in the world.

  • Lara, this will always be our song, you are still in my heart. It didnt have to be like this.

  • geez, what a great song.

  • here's to the Great Phantom Dan and all the other lost spirits in the night...

    gone but never forgotten.

  • this song is very special for me...

my father called me sandra beacuase of this song...

    (sandy is sandra in english)

  • RIP DANNY

  • R.I.P Danny

  • Danny flew in with an helicopter straight from the clinic for this show, his last show. Great Great respect for him, i hope he has a good spot in the E street heaven.

  • They'll all meet again in heaven.. For now, Danny is waiting, hangin' with Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and John Lennon

  • nice thought, but I belive that we have no "soul" and that you just seize to exist when you die.

  • Whoa, I'm not religious either, but there's no need to crush a nice thought like that.

  • RIP

  • this was danny's last show

  • i must ask ..sorry if i dont know but i havent listen to long on bruce ..who is sandy?? great song/hug from sweden :)

  • Grandissimo Danny, RIP.

Ci mancherai,SanSiro senza di te era unpo' più vuoto.

Mi sono venute le lacrime a guardare questo video

  • RIP Madame Marie....6/27/08

  • R.I.P Danny!!!!

this song is awesome! He played it when I seen him like 3 or 4 years ago in giants stadium!

  • I like this song but not with the accordian.

    Sandy

  • Uh, the accordion is there to invoke "the carnival life..." and is, and has always been, integral to the performance. Recalls a 1960s Asbury Park arcade in the wet heat of the summer. I suppose you had to be there...

  • I was...and revisited just yesterday. Glad to see signs of life there again after thirty years!

  • Asbury continues to break my heart every time I drive through...although we're tending to stop now for a look around...the downtown section on the south end is coming back, and some of the restaurants are first rate. Plus the the beloved Casino is being rebuilt. There's hope...

  • Da Bomb!!

  • Man, this really gets me, especially when Bruce smiles at him.

Now you see him, now you don't, the Phantom Danny Federici....Rest in Peace brother
