Oh God, watching this for the 40th time or so. Absolutely loved Farzana's voice too. I love folk music. Aur Nusrat saab ki kya tareef karoon. He is beyond words. Love you Nusrat Ji!
Hi can anybody tell me about the singer named Farzana in this video, and where can I find her song, I think she has amazing voice and specifically the song that she was singing in this video
many years ago I was at a rockclub here in Stockholm when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, it was an amazing experience with rock-people and pakistans dancing and screaming together!

@imranbichu OPEN YOUR EYES and then read my comment.....I DID NOT WRITE we 'ONLY' Pakistani are proud of you.......OPEN YOUR MIND AND EYES PLEASE.....
@Rok42 : it's clear tht you are an indian ... i guess you are totally ignorant abt his history ,,,, he was successful and popular in Pakistan tht's why indians approached him as they've always been stealin' our best musicians and singers...thr is a huge list goes on ... so be a lil bit patient .... he was a Pakistani and he was a legen in pakistan ..... don't go beyond the reality and say somthng good if you can .... bye
Okay I take back what I said about this docu. This doesn´t do the great Ustad justice at all, and neither Pakistani culture. The money part, with the so called "holy man" is so completely wrong! Anyone who´s Pakistani knows that. A true Sufi, Qawwal never performs just to get money, it´s something ppl in Pak do just to show appreciation. This guy made it sound like it was all planned and stuff. Cont.
@Khwaab I agree with you statements and also wonder, why did they show a Hindu temple while talking about the languages of these Islamic devotional songs. Then he says, "the chanting transports the audience to a spiritual NIRVANA". He couldn't find an Urdu, Persian, or English word?
I'm American, have a great interest (and university degrees) in religions of India, and really like Hinduism. But I am a Muslimah and I loved Ustad Nusrat for years and saw him in concert. This documentary is weak.
Oh I didn´t notice the Hindu temple. Well, even that could´ve been overlooked since spirituality is in every faith and I´ve heard some Hindus do go to Sufis to seek advice. However, yeah..the language is a problem. The "teller" voice is of a Punjabi speaker. I can speak Punjabi myself, among other languages, and am very proud of that so I don´t mean any offence. But I can tell from his "tahlaffuz"/pronunciation that he speaks Indian Punjabi and English. Nothing wrong with...cont.
Hey, great video. Around 7:21, a woman named Farzana is singing "hathe gula mehndi, pere gul mehndi" but part of it is not sindhi, right? What language is it? Thari? Siraiki?
Also, is there anywhere I can hear more of her singing? What is her full name? Thanks.
Nusrat sahab, A great singer, a true legend in every sense of the word. There have been many great singers but only some could reach GODLY levels and Nusrat ji was one of them. R.I.P.
