  • great video. I really enjoyed watching this. beautiful work!!

  • Where did you get your steampunk graphic paper pack?!?! It is awesome! and your works is abosolutely gorgeous

  • You are so talented!!! AMAZING!!!!

  • OMG! That is so beautiful and it went so fast. Have you considered doing an online class? I would definitely pay for a guided tutorial on how to make this! Thanks for all you contribute to beautifying our crafting world!

  • GORGEOUS! Wish it went slower it went to fast for me but I love it

  • SPEECHLESS! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

  • wow beautiful, good job! I'm starting this "altered phase" now haha :)

  • rewatched and loved it again. great music, too.

  • WOW! amazing! What kind of glue gun/glue are you using to attach the gears? Every time I glue something with mine it falls apart within days. :/

  • Beautiful, and the tunes were good too

  • Love this project!! I am going to attempt to alter my first box tomorrow. Right after I run to Michaels to pick up Gesso, and some of the other adhesives you used. Thanks for sharing!!

  • excellent!

  • so pretty! You are so talented!

  • Wow!! Really pretty!! I'm planning to make a Day planner! I'm new at this, and this is going to be my first project! It looks like you'd be the person to ask. I wanted to know what will be the best product for me to use? I plan to use paper, photos, stamps and stickers for the cover.(Nothing 3D really!) I need this to be more durable for daily use! What's the best adhesive for me? MOD PODGE maybe? To seal everything down. Also the planner has a cardboard cover if that makes any difference!

  • Amazing and beautiful work. Thanks very must for sharing

  • Wow amazing, beautiful work.

  • you have a wonderful and beautiful talent!! who knew so much could come from just a simple wooden box! isnt it amazing what paper can do to transform something so simple as wood?? :) GREAT job!!

  • 4:24 what are you using for the glaze for the top of the box nubbin?

  • Comment removed

  • It's amazing how you could turn a plain wooden box into something so beautiful!

  • these are both stunning

  • Seriously??? AMAZING ..

  • That was Amazing!!!! I really needed to see a complete vid like this too, I always question the steps it takes to get through a project....but this helps me so much!

  • absolutely stunning. I love making things like this, but then they end up so pretty that I want to keep them all instead of selling or giving them as prezzies

  • Amazing work Arlene! You've definately given me inspiration for the paper mache hat boxes I picked up. I am going to alter them with the Tim Holtz Lost & Found papers. TFS! :)

  • This is an awesome video!!!!

  • Arlene, The box and mini are gorgeous!!! Loved watching the video. you so deserve the recognition by Graphic 45. Congrats!! TFS

  • Love it! Fabulous! Love this paper.

  • I am a new subscriber to your videos - and this one certainly doesn't disappoint! Thank you so much for sharing your talent...oh, and your love of Twilight...with the rest of us! :)

  • so talented - than you for sharing. I do have a question - why and what with do you sand the edges after you put the paper on the box and on the mini pages?

  • @mrsnicol2009 Hi Tammy. I used a Tim Holtz sanding block to smooth down the edges of the paper... I don't like the harsh edges especially if I need to distress them with ink or a paint dabber. TFW! :-)

  • Gorgeous Arlene!!! Congratulations on being recognized by Graphic 45!!! Well deserved! :)

  • Wow Ar, very pretty!

  • This is AMAZING,Arlene...i just LOVE this box...WOW!!!

    warm hugs

  • Arlene, I went to a garage sale today. I got 53 all wood cigar boxes, different sizes and shapes. They almost all have hinges and clasps. I only paid 15cents a box!!!! I'm thinking of making them for a craft sale. One sewing theme, maybe kitchen theme. What do you think? Was it a good buy? will they sell? Should I put mini's in some?

  • @Kathyscraps WOW, awesome buy! Please share what you make. :-)

  • I love your channel! Thank you for all the inspiration... I look forward to more

  • Stunning!!! Loved your box!

    Rosie

  • Adorable box. I love the fast forward for getting it done instead of being so long; however there were a few times I wish you could slow down some so I could see the product you were showing. I think later in the vid you started holding them up longer. You are so talented and creative. Thanks!

  • Amazing!!

  • I am speechless! This is so so gorgeous, Arlene!

Great to see the making of such a box! I´ve never done it before, but now ... :-)

  • this is sooo amazing wow!!

  • Awesome video Arlene! Keep up the good work!

  • Gorgeous, Arlene! TFS...

I've wanted to get my hands on a few of the boxes since you did the RAK vid.... But can you believe I've not been to the city to pick some up? Yeah... THAT long! LOL.

  • Arlene ! you showed the box, but now seeing how you did I'm even more amazed, I'm organizing my scrap room and m hands are itching to start to try to do something like this, will not be as good but everyone need to start from somewhere :)

  • Very beautiful! TFS!

  • The box turned out lovely. I suppose when you have so much to choose from it makes it much easier. Its a struggle when you have to make the embellies from scratch but its so worth the effort in the end. I was lucky enough to be gifted a box and have been too scared to decorate it as they cant be bought here in NZ. Now that I have seen how easy it is Im def going to give it a go. (No, how easy you make it look) Thanks so much and I have my fingers and toes crossed I can make it look as nice.

  • I drove the 40 minutes to my nearest Michaels to find this box as soon as I finished watching this video the first time around and they didn't have it. :( Great job on the box. It looks awesome.

  • Hi Arlene,

Thank you for sharing this video, you are such an inspiration. Your work is stunning and you make it look so easy. Love the idea of the bubble wrap. Have a great day

    Maria

  • So beautiful. Love the mini box and mini book. You're so creative and you work so fast (yeah, I know the video is sped up). I spend so much time thinking and deciding. I need to be more spontaneous. I have a few of those wooden boxes hiding in my supplies. You've inspired me to get them out and create something.

  • Wow, you are absolutly brilliant, you are so good at what you do. Love the box.

  • wowee, ar, love all the techniques! what a wonderful piece of artwork!! love all the awesome details. thank you so much for sharing with us!! love them. have a wonderful nite! *hugs* steph :)

  • Honestly, you never cease to amaze me. This is stunning! Also, I really like this format of video you sometimes do- its a nice change once in a while. Teresa

  • Honestly, you never cease to amaze me. This is stunning! Also, I really like this format of video you sometimes do- its a nice change once in a while. Teresa

  • SO may great techniques!Love it! I keep looking for these little boxes but I have yet to find them :( Thank you such for sharing the process!

    a few questions

What program do you edit with? What do you cut your chipboard with?

  • @cheerbear7 Thanks! I use iMovie on my MAC to edit the vids. I cut my chipboard with a Friskars rotary trimmer.

  • WOW

  • Beautiful box! I love seeing the different types of adhesives you were utilizing. With so many adhesives out there, it's a little difficult to know which glue works with different textures. I also appreciated the little "tip boxes" you would feature on the upper left hand side.

    Greetings from the Windy City...Mari

  • BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for sharing...enjoyed the process.

  • Amazing project....my favorite!! :)

  • OMG! i love this Arlene! what a wonderful job...thank you so much for showing start to finish. I'm always thinking on how to get the paper to glue so that it wont come off!

  • LOVE it..

    soo creative

  • Gorgeous Arlene. Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing.

I have been using Anita's Water Clean-Up Polyurethane (semi-gloss) instead of Modge Podge at the recommendation from the girl who does classes at my Michael's. I like is so much better. It isn't as tacky when dried. It is with the decoupage supplies and it comes in a 8 fluid oz. bottle.

    Hugs. Mary

  • @buttonbags Very cool, thanks for the tip Mary. I'll have to give that a try! :-) TFW!

  • Beautiful! I love watching your process - it is truly amazing! How did you re-attach the black ribbon (that you used to replace the elastic band) so it stayed in place? Thanks for the video! :) Hugs, Gayle

  • @gaylebear Hey Gayle! I used a hot glue gun... hehe!!! Thanks for the sweet comment. :-)

  • This box mini is just amazing!!! I liked seeing the different paints you used adding texture. The feet look like they came with the box. Thanks so much for sharing ~Dera

  • I enjoyed watching you decorate this step by step. Have the box! Loved the process and the paper collection! Hugs! najat

  • LOve it! Fabulous. I loved every part of the tutorial. Question what is that gesso for and how does it work? And how do you fast forward the video, what speed is that? Is that the flip camera? Where do you recommend purchasing the flip? I've checked and HSN doesn't have it :(

  • @AF0093 TFW... wow, lots of questions... hehe!! here goes.... Gesso is used as a primer to prep the surface for paint, glue, etc. I use iMovie to FF my vids. It's on top speed, 100%. Not Flip. I got my Flip through work, but you can purchase them at your local Costco now. :-)

  • gorgeous! you are so creative.

  • I love watching you work Ar! It came out totally goreous! Did you do the fast forward video on your flip? I have no idea how to do that. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome talent with us! Hugs, Mary >;<

  • @OdonataCreations Thanks Mary! I actually used iMovie on my MAC to fast forward the video. FlipShare (the software that comes with the Flip) doesn't do much . :-( TFW girl! :-)

  • @mybutterflykisses12 OMG Arlene I want to learn how to do this fast forwarding thing! I have Imovie but no clue how to use it! would ou have time one day to give us a few tips? I'm sure many of us want to make videos like this, but have no clue how to start. Pretty please, with sugar on top =D Sharon
