To be honest, I think that while Blink is important, AVA is his priority. Truth be told, he never really thought Blink would get back together.

All that time he poured into a band that never really got popular. Lets face it, the majority of their fans are blink fans who followed him to AvA and Mark and Travis to +44. I don't think too many people would be upset if Tom left AvA. And as for filmaking. That doesn't count. Its taken them over 5 years and from what tom said, it won't even be released anytime soon. And honestly, its probably not going to be too good. Like i'll watch it and stuff, but from what i've seen it looks very.... odd.

I know the music is good, I listen to it. But if you think about it, what was Tom's reason for leaving blink in the first place? He said "It couldn't just be different. It had to be bigger. Better." AvA wasn't bigger, better, or more popular than blink. I guarantee you AvA would have gotten no where if blink didn't come first. So they have not gotten popular. They have less fans than blink (most of their fans followed from blink anyway), fewer record sales, lower ratings.
