You have excellent commentary. As for this particular point: I agree with your overall feeling. The Government rearing it's ugly head...again! Here's the problem - strictly playing the Devil's Advocate - what COMPETENT parent whimsfully allows a doctor to take her newborn child out of her arms, as he straps the infant down and starts cutting off part of his penis? I'm talking of course, about that barbaric ritual - circumcision. This is how we treat our baby boy's in the Nation?
You know Dr. Laura? That self-aggrandizing 'psychologist' on radio... got a caller yesterday by a woman complaining that her husband had become (since having a child) a conservative Christian. His attitude had become untolerant of 'unbelieving' family etc and Dr. Laura said that (paraphrasing) 'until he becomes violent that his 'insanity' could not be fought in the courts.' Believe me folks IT'S HAPPENING! For those with eyes that perceive and ears that hear- pay attention.
Another step to total control of the people, next they will want to make it illegal to mate unless you are approved by the medical mafia. And they will test unborn children to determine if they are worthy of being born. Bottom line is this is not OUR government, if we don't destroy them, they will destroy us. It's a big Evil Satanic Corporate Globalist Elitist Cult of Psychopaths, they need to be stopped now, there will no later, later all the people who stand up will be silenced or murdered.

Read up on Hitlers baby snatch from Poland. Read about the Canadian policy to snatch native youth who were then indoctrinated in work camps where they were molested and worked without nutrition until they came down with tuberculosis. Coke is produced with child labor in El Salvador. No less than 40% of the worlds chocolate is the product of slave labor and most of the rest is hugely underpaid the field workers. A tiny percent of coffee is fair trade. The scam is at the top run by the tiniest .
If you're aware of microwave weapon technology you can be labeled schizophrenic and psychotic... The list goes on, of people having natural experiences who are able to be labeled crazy, because the CIA bought much doctoring and research over the past 50 years. The whole world should be MRId and their memory fished for what really happened this last century. Start right at the top with David Rockefeller then Dick Cheney if they're not the same Penguin.
With what the psych health literature currently holds everybody on the planet has a condition by which they can be categorized as insane. If you experience common life states due common experiences, loss of family members for example, you will suffer grief, everybody looses a family member at some point in their lives, so at some point in their life everybody is at some point depressed, thus labelable. With swine flu going around a doctor observe you wash your hands much you could be labeled OCD
Everyday? What good legislation? Name it and I'll tell you how it's an under solve that's a vast corruption against what's in the common interest. The legislation you skewer here is a gross invasion of privacy and fishing for babies to be delivered to the foster molestation system to ensure enough are corrupted to blackmail all the people necessary to carry out the agenda of the super powerful. He'll do it one way or another or yet any of unlimited ways to dominate. WGD?
It's because these idiots don't read crap before they vote on it. Why would anyone take a bill and not read it, then vote on it? Because they really don't care.
I kinda disagree in that a beautiful thing about this country is that a child has a right to capable parents. And if a parent is unfit the government will take them away.
The government is not capable of determining who is fit and who isn't nor are they capable of caring for a child better than a parent that may or may not be emotionally stressed at the time of birthing a child... Governments of any kind can not be trusted, especially with our children!
Just a sign of the times. Why it is that 100 men should decide whether or not you get to keep your child at a hospital pending mental competency tests is beyond me but it isn't exactly foreign.
DHR has the same right and legitimacy and is currently active and aggressive. This is just one head of the Hydra "Nanny State" we have tolerated for too long.
I don't care about what the law says. I dare someone to get between me and my child. I'd die for my child and am hoping I don't have to prove it.
The days of calling Congress are long over! The only thing left to do now is prepare and inform! The legislation going through is so insane it renders me speechless! Keep up the good work, but get prepared now if you haven't been already!
All these bills going thru congress and the senate lately have vague terms and fancy titles to make them look as a positive step forward. But almost all of them have hidden terms to take away civil rights, or guns, or what food we eat, or water we drink. Research people! Don't let the shiny titles fool you.
The Mother's Act is yet another horrible thing coming from psychiatry and big pharma. Please sign the petition against this insane idea that is ONLY there so that psych's can increase their control over the population and at the same time make huge money from it (your money, tax money) and for their partners Big Pharma to benefit from it.
I've got three boys and (especially because of some chronic illnesses my hubby suffers) we made the decision to stop there and I got fixed! I'm sooo glad I did! But I'm still going to try and do what I can too about this one... stupid...
Wow, i have quietly came in here the last few days, in the hopes that i would see a hard-hitting video about the new racist judge, that racist Obama who just appointed her. And yet from Rebekah, we get some incoherent millie-mouth video about some crazy mother, taking home an infant. See rebekah, that is why i consider you a rhino, and kick your ass all the time in here. America has got a new SC judge that is an angry, frustrated, bigot, and from you, there is nothing but silence. Pathetic!!
I'm also interested in knowing how many of the people commenting here have had experience with postpartum depression or psychosis. After an unplanned C-section last year, I had a very difficult time recovering both physically and emotionally, but no one evaluated me. My doctor saw me for two follow-up visits and never asked how I was feeling mentally. After several weeks, I finally figured out what was happening and did my own research, but very nearly hurt myself and my family in the meantime.
I know for a fact I had postpartum depression after all my kids... long stories involved, but the last two were diagnosed and I was treated for and was fine... the first one, not so simple - HOWEVER - genuine postpartum psychosis is very rare and you can't withhold someone's child on the premise that government THINKS they might do something later... it's unconstitutional... Much love and congrats on becoming a mother (that first one for me was an emergency c-section as well).
Thanks! And I agree that the children should never be withheld, but I didn't see anywhere in the bill where that was even alluded to. Everything I read was all about research, diagnosis, and treatment, so I'm wondering where that charge is coming from.
Trust me, give an inch they take a mile. Bills are constantly being changed at the last minute. So if it passes under the idea that it is only for research, then it'll change just before the vote. Plus they will upload this info into a database of medical records that can easily be accessed and is also part of a scheme to keep guns out of the hands of citizens... it's a mess... a real mess...
yes, every bill introduced is one big attempt at getting guns banned. But keep that to yourself. The government knows your onto them, they're probably wire tapping you too.
Sarcasm isn't going to win you any favors. If a woman has a child and is emotionally up and down while still in the hospital, she would be judged unfit and that info would go into a database that gun shops would (at some point, though thankfully not yet) have to check before selling a gun. You disarm innocent people, then you can control them.
Have you read the bill? It doesn't say every women would be judged unfit, and it certainly doesnt mention it going into some crackpot gun database that doesn't even exist. But if we do make a database we should call it skynet and seek out anyone named john conner to eliminate the database. And for the record, guns give people no control over government. Give me one example where a government disarmed a people to control them.
Seriously???? (rolls eyes) Start with any 'empire' and keep going forward through history! Obviously there is no convincing you until it happens to you...
Getting weapons has never been the issue, other contributing factors were. Seriously, you can;t possible believe that our government will get rid of guns and start some sort of civil war between the people and some sort of government fighting force.
Some of the language is confusing, because the bill mentions that limitations will be imposed on "Applicants," but they never define the term. As I understand it, they are not referring to the patient but to the hospital or facility applying for the grant in order to carry out research and provide education, evaluation, and support services. Nowhere in the bill did it mention that this would be granted to everyone, let alone mandated. Unless I misunderstood, it's voluntary.
This bill aims to remove at-risk patients from that situation by providing services to them and their families, and I think it succeeds to that end. So, I'm wondering if you can cite the specific items that you say will grant government control of hospital procedure (it only mentions a cap on the cost of postpartum services), and where it will prevent new parents from leaving the hospital with their children.
Thank you for bringing this bill to my attention - it's hard to keep up!
It may be a very good bill, wwe107. It educates mothers so they are aware of postpartum depression and increases research. It doesn't force mothers to be screened.
/watch?v=mvzGm-yIlvA
The March of Dimes emphasizes quality prenatal care can prevent most debilitating birth defects.
They have an excellent page on this that mentions help can come from support groups, therapy and counseling. This isn't just about drugs.
You have brought up very thoughtful comments about capito-anarchism that many Libertarians and political theorists can learn from. You will probably have great discussions if you bring up your ideas in a very brief, easy to understand manner.
One needs to ask these questions in evaulating a new bill. 1) What is it trying to accomplish? 2) What does it actually say? 3) Are its critics' claims true?
The senator that introduced the bill says it is trying to provide support to women with postpartum depression, educate mothers about it and support research.
That is what the bill's text says on the Thomas Library of Congress site.
I don't see anywhere in the legislation's text that says mandatory screening. Conspiracy theorists are using that language in order to scare people.
This video is inaccurate and should be removed, since it touches a sensitive subject. IMHO.
According to the Thomas archive the bill in front of the Senate in short is: 3M for 3yrs to study postpartum depression. As a Libertarian I still do not like this bill but, it's along way from "Family Planning".
I read the bill in it's full, but I found nothing in there about examinations. The only thing I found was appropriations for further research on post partum depression. I did however, see several yt videos claiming it stated that about the exams.
There's absolutely no way to keep up with the tomes and tomes of legislation these criminals write. They are all criminals if they want to initiate force against peaceful people. All these so called laws do precisely that. I don't want my tax dollars paying for this crap.
Don't be so quick to concede. You were talking about hidden by perspective. A back door is indeed hidden when you take a picture of the front of the house as far as that perspective is concerned. One merely needs to go around back, i.e., read the document, to get the rest of the picture of the house. You didn't seem to be implying any sinister or malevolent meaning with your exposition. You were just taking us around back.
What in our elected official's opinion constitutes "mental health" as opposed to "mental illness"? Welcome to the brave new world of The Soviet Socialist States of Amerika.
Another messed up thing about this bill is that mothers who have just given birth aren't going to be in the most stable state of mind.... What normal human being is going to be "all there" after going through one of the most painful experiences imaginable?
Our representatives are out of their minds.
God bless, folks. Certainly doesn't look like we're getting the "change" we were promised so we're going to have to ride this one out. Yet again.
According to who? Would you like to be the judge of who tears a capable family apart? Have you given birth? Have you experienced the emotional ups and downs associated with that? By what standard would you judge?
It's time for Archon. Un-Register for voting- Bet you didn't know that when you register to vote that your property becomes surity/mortgaged for the debts of the nation and the state.
do you think you get to choose the president by your vote or anyone else? non since vote none of the above. and no one can take my right away to complain thats a right i give myself.
It's never surprising to see how much people put their trust, their very lives in the hands of the government. A government who has always acted in it's own self interests rather than contrary.
I only heard a little about this act, I have more been sending emails on the internet hate act. But yeah, its insane, another case of guilty until proven innocent, and basically proclaiming government raising children is supreme to the parental unit doing their job. Life sucks, a few parents do f**ked up things, and get put into a system that has a much higher rate of abuse, vs the general public. Go Figure, thanks for pushing this, I will make a call 2 morrow. Take care Reb...el! :)
Yeah you hit the nail on the head with the whole "mental disorder" not be clear about what is considered a disorder. Yeah, I can see were something like this came from buy the horror story's I have read online from nurses and pediatricians. Yeah, the government seems to be getting bigger and bigger. On a side note, you should watch (The story of stuff), you can find it on you-tube. You might find it interesting buy the fact its being shown in middle schools.
The fact that this bill even exists is incredibly disturbing...there's absolutely no constitutional basis for this whatsoever.
I'm overwhelmed by how many horrifying bills have been introduced into Congress the past few months. Liberty is dying every single day in our country...it's time to sharpen those pitchforks ;)

The March of Dimes emphasizes quality prenatal care can prevent most debilitating birth defects.
They have an excellent page on this that mentions help can come from support groups, therapy and counseling. This isn't just about drugs.

I'll have to look it up like everything else. You should ignore me like everone else too. But thanks for the comment.

No, we should not ignore you, wwe107!
You have brought up very thoughtful comments about capito-anarchism that many Libertarians and political theorists can learn from. You will probably have great discussions if you bring up your ideas in a very brief, easy to understand manner.

Hi Rebekahj,
One needs to ask these questions in evaulating a new bill. 1) What is it trying to accomplish? 2) What does it actually say? 3) Are its critics' claims true?
FightGlobalPoverty 2 years ago
The senator that introduced the bill says it is trying to provide support to women with postpartum depression, educate mothers about it and support research.
That is what the bill's text says on the Thomas Library of Congress site.
I don't see anywhere in the legislation's text that says mandatory screening. Conspiracy theorists are using that language in order to scare people.

Bills that pass the House in huge numbers are often modified in order to account for concerns like that.

You are so right in what you say!

You said stuff was "hidden" within the document. If it was written in the document, it wasn't "hidden" by any means.
PeoplesWar 2 years ago
Good point, bad wordage by me. :P
rebekahj 2 years ago
Its just that when someone says "hidden," it implies something rather sinister and malevolent.
The bill may have some bad points, but in no way is it some clandestine effort at subversion, as people like Alex Jones might say.
PeoplesWar 2 years ago

Yet again.

why would you send a child home with a women whose not in a stable state of mind?

According to who? Would you like to be the judge of who tears a capable family apart? Have you given birth? Have you experienced the emotional ups and downs associated with that? By what standard would you judge?

It's never surprising to see how much people put their trust, their very lives in the hands of the government. A government who has always acted in it's own self interests rather than contrary.

I am getting more ticked everyday with what's going on.

According to Alex Jones :
The CPS wants to grab as many children as possible in order to sell them to rich buyers and to the New World Order pedophile groups .
