Since Columbia has no investment in X factor they are treating him like any other newly signed artist with a debut solo album and are very very happy with his performance. Letters is double gold and on track to go platinum in March so there is absolutely nothing wrong with his sales. He is already writng his second solo album (his 5th in total)

i'm a fan of both Matt & Adele, i think he does this better then almost any other artist that could try & cover Adele, but i do wish people would stop staying which one is beats the other.

There's no comparison as deal here is that Adele's is sung simpler cause she's feeling the words more as its her song. Matt is singing to deliver a beautiful rendition of the song. It's the same as if Adele were to cover a Matt Cardle song, it would sound good but wouldn't have the same feeling he puts in it.
