it's sometimes not enough deep and too sharp for me and too much pedal... and he should play "dim. ma sempre in tempo", when he's ending this piece, and he's playing slower and slower and it should be staccato this second voice in left hand.
Substantially you are right but even though from narrowly scholastic viewpoint this is obviously slightly off-beat and narcissistic, I find it still a highly moving, authentic, charismatic and incredibly musical, involved and thought upon interpretation. But you ve got clearly an unquestionable point. The other question is how you define the essence of artism that is undeniably there and that is so different from what legions of massively cloned pianists have set as "interpretative standard"?
He's musical and charismatic, I think so too, and his interpretation is very interesting... but I'm very sceptical at all. I think, that good artist can play correct with score and add to interpretation his individuality.
@whattaf0ck Its very funny to read the comments posted here after reading the ones from the 3mov of Prokofievs 7son, anyways, maybe he knows both pieces well enough so he has some kind of "permission" or "right" to play them as he does, which is not bad, because im pretty sure he played them at least once doing nothing more or less than that written on the sheet, which is the first thing to do when learning a piece.I think the only thing we can say about a performance is wether we like it or not
Personally I do question the notion of being permissive when it comes to setting a legitimate, at least partially, academic standard. Being extravagant while delivering a controversial artistic proposal is another thing. So, I also strongly feel, that, indeed all we can say is whether we like it or not.
very sensitive playing

No question about that whatsoever.I am glad we came to the agreement on these sensitive (and essential?) issues.
