  • thats why i bolt by desk to the floor

  • This vid is a favorite on Somalia

  • This is not a Vodafone DC. This is old Telsim Point of Presence. Vodafone Plaza has the Buyukdere-Maslak.

  • my worst nightmare to see a data center underwater, absolutely gutted. so much money lost.

  • HEY Watercooled DataCentre!

  • 3:30 Its one of those dinosaur things

  • Impressive that, considering the damage, both the security cameras and their servers still had power and connectivity to record the whole event.

  • SAVE THE MEATLOAF!

  • is this how they install the new "green" water cooling system?

  • lol I guess istanbul is not the most secure place to store your data...

  • wish my office would get flooded

  • this is the fire sprinkler system?

  • I love how they leave the PC's turned on, and from what it appears, on the floor :)

  • I'd cut the power off...

  • WOW!!!

  • hope they have offsite back ups, RAID wont save you there. lol

  • lol, FAIL. they didn't even try to move the computers on the desk, he just cleaned out the cabinet and all the stuff he took out fell in anyways. lol

  • 3:20 - Woah!! lol.

  • Why would you put a data center in a flood plain. This is simply bad planning.

  • @ blizzard242

    Its called going in cheap!

  • @mrchimpy2 "hit breakers" .... yeah, rly...how on earth did they not turn the power out... at least on the ground floor? data loss? wtf?

  • This is when you hit the SCRAM button.

  • the technical skills for the datacenter administrators includes swimming???

  • Has someone made a Benny Hill/Silent Movie style remix of this yet?

  • see its the same human arrogance the world over that you think you can make a wall to keep it out with coats and things. When our house got flooded out we though the same thing.WRONG lol

  • What is the dude grabbing out of the drawer at 3:15?

  • I dunno :( This is really helping answer isn't it :) My opinion is his personal stuff maybe cell phone etc. because he put those to higher shelf. I guess he thinks he will come back to get them.

  • I thought it might have been cash but why would you leave an unlocked drawer full of cash sitting there like that? ;)

  • I don't think it is cash. Why would he put the cash instead drawer under the flood :) put it in to your pocket, man! (with same reason like yours) And if this place is security office that kind of money may be the only the dudes personal money.

  • @ugurob Whats in the drawer doesn't matter at 5:23 HA

  • Excellent example of how not to deal with a flood in a datacentre.

    1) see water

    2) hit breakers

    3) get the fuck out.

Don't go paddling in the water with the power on. Could have killed all the people there even more effectively than the flood itself.

  • scary stuff

  • Tnx for the video

  • Killed over 30 people.

  • use Lampertz solution ;)))

  • OK, now that I've watched the whole video you can disregard my previous accusations.

  • This is the whole video. :)

  • Yeah but I didn't watch it thoroughly before posting my comments below.

  • Do you thing this is fair commenting anything without knowledge(Without watching until the end)? We have saying in Turkish "Bilgi sahibi olmadan fikir sahibi olmak" meaning "Having idea without knowledge" This is a perfect definition of you right now. I am not telling this because of my video. Also this is not mine. I am just a middleman. Be fair.

  • Oh crap, I must've forgot; the internet is serious business.

  • This is not about taking internet serious nor this video. Just be a reliable man... with your thoughts. Just talking is just vain talking. You have to grow up. Even if you are 40-50. Anyway... bye...

  • Do you think I care. You don't have to read.

  • do you read with your ears?

  • fail, he didnt talk

  • 03:42 lol

  • owned

  • damn, thats horrible

  • he needs to fix his chair

  • Server racks gone at 6:18 ...game over!

  • Well, its not a data center anymore!

  • yup, youd think that place would be sealed tight..but nope..

  • Computers go bye bye D:

  • Data center? I see two terminals.

  • What do you mean, terminal?

  • Desktop computers.

  • At the beginning of video, you may see security and reception desk's computers. But later you can see the data center equipment.

  • what's going on. whats happened to my comments!

  • I've deleted your comment by mistake. Sorry. You can enter that hoax concern again. And check the video information. I've added some news about your concern.

  • Its Turkey... What do you expect lol.

  • watertight doors must be installed !!

  • 3:19 epic fail-lols :)

Why didn't they just shut the door?

  • I hope they have a good disaster recovery plan.

  • Apparently, not!

  • I sure hope they got approved downtime.

  • As far as I heard on the news, around 4000 cell phone user lost their wireless service because of this event.

But hey, they filled in a river bank and build these buldings. This is called "corruption in government kills people and then you can blame the mother nature"

  • According to their press statement 3,8 MILLION subscriber lost / effected their service.

  • (Not forgetting that people were hurt in the disaster). What was the blast of vapour in the computer room - sprinkler system, halon gas?

  • Looks like fire suppression

  • I believe its a nitrogen "explosion" style fire suppression. It can detect a single spark (large enough) and fire. It basically has a large nitrogen cylinder hooked up to a "firing" cylinder. The nitrogen primes the firing cylinder which is then discharged into the data center. No fire, and no damaged equipment (except for the water of course).

  • water crashing down from above.

  • So What is this. riaa floods data center to take down torrent host.? :)

  • I feel bad for the guy who tried to save the stuff in his desk drawer by putting it up on that high shelf.

  • You're right!

  • Goodness me, never seen anything like that.

Isn't it amazing tho the security camera still works perfectly, despite most probably the power being cut?

  • You are absolutely right. The strange thing is, nobody mentioned this before even at TV News or comments on the web etc. Its enclosure must be the best! And now I am curious about its server. Where was that located. At roof maybe :D

  • lmao

  • Swimming time! :)

  • Get a dehumidifier, sillies.

  • Are those cones there to warn people that the floor is wet? If so then LOL.

  • What cones?

  • You can see one guy move them at 2:08

  • Haha! But no! This place is the part of entrance of the main building (security area). And those cones are kind of traffic cones and says "Do Not Park Here - Main Entrance" or something like that. I wasn't there but that kind of cones with a sign says almost something like this in Turkey. At the beginning, they are saving those from "the outside flood" I guess. But the following flood ... oh that was "the" disaster.

  • oh GOD lol. Click and drag the timeline slider from just 50 seconds onwards O_O

    Wow

  • :( perdi mis emails !!!
