  • How can anyone not like this!! it fantastic i have it on dvd, best song and version!! CC and Patti are so sexy and amazing voices!! Patti can give Cher a run 4 her money anyday!!! saw Meat Loaf live last yr and patti rocked!! love Meat and Gang heaps x x x

  • Back when I HAD this DVD, I always played this song. Every concert has a moment in it that just seizes you! This song is where the band really shone. But now that I think about it, it's a effing great DVD as a whole package.

  • Patti and CC - what a choice! - you'd probably go for CC, and then immediately regret it as it dawned on you how much dirtier Patti would have been :-)

  • c"mon man meat loaf at 80% is still more than most others at 100%. The guy is 62 been rocking for well over 30 years and still going strong. His website says he is recording new album now. I hope he follows up with a concert tour. Meat Loaf concert is the best there is...

  • i have to agree. i saw him live last year, it was awesome! he might not be the same but he's still a legend. i'll always love him :D

  • Meat Loaf is a legend, but seriously he needs to learn how to conserve his voice. Now he sounds so tired and stretched. He doesn't sound well live at all. Obviously performing a 10-min song which needs a lot of vocal power is too much for him now.

  • wats the name of the guitarist who does the solo

  • Paul Crook

  • Paul Crook is the one with the red guitar, Randy Flowers has to wood theme one. Both are masters, not to mention Kasim Sulton runnning the whole scale , on a bass in .005 seconds!

  • That solo is insane!

  • I really love it how Paul can play like that, and look so casual doing it. The mark of a true master. Also I'd like to say that Randy Flowers is no slouch on the guitar either. His intro on "2 out of 3 ain't bad is great.

  • And people said Meatloaf lost his voice? They dont know what theyre talking abo7ut

I will admit that I am a huge Meatloaf fan, and I remember that when I heard this song for the first time i was actually crying. Meatloaf may have won a grammy, but he is one of the most underrated singers and performers of all time, and Steinman isone of the most underrated writers ever

  • Well he is much worse in 2008 than he was in 2004.

Also, have you heard of auto-tune / pitch-correction software? It was used all over Meat Loaf's voice on this DVD.

  • he may be worse now, however he is still great. he sings better at 50% than most sing at 100%

  • that's bullshit

this is how he sang at the concert they didn't use the software

  • Yes they did. Melodyne. It is used on most live DVDs. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Unless you have *proof* that this is exactly how he sang it on that night... somehow.

  • Do you have proof he did use it? He didn't use it because he never does and never will. Next thing you'll say he used it on Bad Attitude live from the 80's lol.

  • No I won't because it wasn't around in the 80s, lol.

  • I do relize that, it's called being sarcastic . Anyhow off to buy the Bat Out Of Hell Original Tour DVD released today :)

  • @MistaRowland

I have no trouble accepting truth, but you need evidence when you wanna convince me. I havent thumb down or up your comment so u know. Also I find in different songs Meat shines better in both '04 and '08. Than also I routinely go outta my way for Meat's vocal servings

  • when did this concert happen?

  • 2004 in Melbourne

  • geweldig, super, hij is en blijft geweldig

  • I just can't stop loving this song!!

  • Great Song! Awesum (is that how is spelt) guitar solo. Prefect Singing.

  • God I love this song. My favorite performance on the whole dvd. Several things come to mind when watching this video.

    1) Paul's guitar solo and the build up to it is fucking awesome! I only wish it was on the album version.

    2) Patti Rosso is a babe. Everyone raves about the blonde, but I'd take Patti Russo anyday over her.

    3) I would not want to be on the receiving end of Meatloaf's punch. I bet he hits like a damn Mack Truck. I bet that left a bruise.

  • I argee with you 100%. CC is easy on the eyes, no doubt, but Patti, looks talent and attitude. What a whole package. Not too many singers could stand on a stage with Meatloaf, Queen, and Cher.

  • This is what I call a great solo! :)

  • I've got the original DVD and I love it! I can sing all the songs on the DVD !

  • love it does anyone have the original bat out of hell cd ? mine got cracked and it is impossible to download

  • ;) i do

  • lol yeah thanks for rubbing it in :P actually I finally found it on mininova

  • have it. Love it

  • maddii768, Yes i still have the Bat Out of Hell CD in mint condition ;)

  • I have the original vinyl singed by Meat and Jim and Karla... Of course my wife has all the orignal Beatles vinyl..

  • that's pretty sick!!

  • that version of the song rocks! i loved it when jim did it on his solo album, but the way meat does it especially live really kicks ass.

  • Never tire of wachting this concert, wish I had been there. Meat Rocks!

  • God, I love this song.

  • GREAT!!!

  • I am gonna vote for Meatloaf for President 2012

  • sorry folks , the dvd is brilliant but i was there and with the orchestra behind him was just fucking awesome

  • one of my favourites songs, all categories!! It's difficult to not love it!

    Meatloaf for president!!!

  • What's the title of the DVD please?

  • Meat Loaf Live with The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

  • probably my favorite live song from this dvd, All of them are great though

  • One of his BEST! Love watching that blonde sway too!

  • Immer noch Klasse

  • Wunderschön

  • this is my favorite meat loaf song

  • I got the DVD of this song, I love his songs written by Jim Steinman!

  • "come on come on and there'll be no turning back..." i think you cut out this part when it would come the first time, and this is not where he speaks to the crowd.

    but anyway, good video

  • "WHaa and into the fire", better than the album, nuthin beats him

  • "Maak Alexander play it for me son" - great piano, then explosive guitar and drums. Awesome little add on to the intro.

I think his voice is brilliant here.

  • i think he is awsome here and always will be dont you ever ever ever stop ROCKINNNNNNNNNNNNN!

  • Awesome song! Saw em live at sweden rock last year. Lead guitarist looks exactly like a swedish wrestler named Frank Andersson lol!

  • i just got this from amazon and his life story.

If you haven't seen it it's a must have for a meatloaf fan.

It was the movie from vh1

I became a fan after seeing this movie in 2000

and the behind the movie on vh1.

    keep on rockingggggggggggg!

  • this is a great live version of the song and meat is sounding great. as has been mentioned numerous times, he is getting up there in years but he's still got it! i love the way the piano and drums have taken some liberties with the studio version to create a more intense live experience!

  • which DVD is this from - can i get it from Amazon UK?

  • Sure.

It´s the DVD w/ the Melbourne Symphony.

  • 6:29 his voice there is amazing

  • A lot of people say Meat's voice is shot, but when you look at how old he is (61) and the type of songs he sings (most of the songs end up well above top G) it's amazing how he manages to keep on going!

  • and not to say he has had a heart attack

  • Agreed!

  • The intro is amazing - even better with the added piano bit.

  • my fave meat song!

meat is quite hard to translate, given the phrases he uses!

  • masterstone22: If you haven't already, you wont't be sorry if you watch Meat's documentary, In Search of Paradise. It offers great insight into what a perfectionist Meat is, and what a toll touring takes on him. I hope he does another US tour - I'm in PA, but I'd travel to Buffalo in a heartbeat to see him again.

  • That last Group of "Fire"'s is my favorite part of the DVD

  • watch at 7mins into it the guitar solo is the best one i have ever seen.

  • yeh he is fucking amazing

  • i saw meatloaf in concert about 4 years ago. his voice was gone. but that guitar dude was unbefreakinglievable.

  • masterstone22: I agree with you that Paul Crook is amazing. Totally disagree with you about Meat's voice. Saw him in August, '07, and he was unfreakingbelievable (I think that's the word you were looking for, isn't it?)

  • i wanted it to be unfreakingbelievable, but that night it cracked several times. other times instead of hitting the high note, he dropped down a key. if/when he came to buffalo again, hell yeah i'd go!

  • I love this DVD. I think this song should be voted for #1 guitar solo, because it is pretty fking awsome!

  • the guitar player is a fucking legend, he is fucking awesome!

  • Paul Crook or Slash?

  • paul

  • Meat!

Long may he ROAR! Long may he ROCK!!!!!!

  • i luv this song xx:Dxx

  • NO. I heard rumors though it is or could be his girlfriend or something like that.

  • no he's married I believe but if you listen to the comentry on the dvd towards the end of the dvd everytime CC apperas on he screen he says theres CC again

so it made me think that for a moment

  • IS THE Blonde singing meatloafs daugher?

  • no that is CC

  • meaty is awesome! an absolute legend. even if he has lost a little bit of his voice he is still the best out there...

  • That could be Rhydian on lead guitar...

  • lol yeh I can see where ur comin from

  • what i don't understand why he has almost completely lost his voice :-?....I don't get it...The only time in the last couple of years where he had ANY good voice was this concert. He should practice more with a vocal coach so he can redeem his old voice!

  • good concert its a shame he seems to have lost his voice a little.

  • Again some jealouse MF Shit

    insulting the great Master

Have the drains been fully of your shit allready ?

  • thank you for the good song quality. so many of these videos have really bad sound and meat deserves the best! I love Meatloaf!

  • I love Meat. Seen in 8times and im 16. Hes amazing and one of my heroes.

  • you lucky bastard i wish he come to canada more but i heard his one stop was his only stop on the bat out of hell 3 tour for canda so taht pissed me off

  • you are all lucky! Meat Loaf has never come to Spain. I had to travel all the way to Sheffield to see one of his concerts.

These days he has recovered most of his voice now, and though this video is very good, can't be compared to the concerts of bat 3 tour!

  • Wow. Wish he would come to my city.

  • One of the best songs of him. He does this song always very good. This is one of the best versions en my favourite.

  • Polycles-I'm glad someone agrees with me. It's just UNBELIEVABLE!

  • His sole greatest song. Damn he's good, but this song, ... it's UBER :D

  • I've been looking for this everywhere. Meat Loaf ROCKS. Good job mate.

  • the consert was in feb 2004

  • man how old uis this video
