i find it funny how people criticize guinness for spending so much on this advert but overlook all the other companies out there who spend just as much per year if not more on their advertising.
i just hope those of you who are saying they should give more away are making regular donations to charity.
for those who may say the same about me, my girlfriend and i support cancer research and the nkrf (kidney research uk), it might not be much but it's true that every little helps.
i dont think it was filmed as well as it could have been, the final showpiece should have taken longer. Its not immediatly obvious that the the pint shaped stack of books is supposed to stop filling and wait like a real pint... I think they should do a re-take!!!
That was the single most beautiful commercial I have ever seen regarding beer, and this is even taking into consideration the Carlton Draught "It's-A-Big-Ad" one from Australia.
10 Million £'s to make this, its incredible that guiness could of put the money for the local charity, coroceries and afew banged up motors, discusting, dont understand how that this comercial is so costly. and not as good as i thought it was going to be.
the money did go to charity - at least a quarter of that £10 million would have been given to the villagers in that video - especially since they helped to make the advert.
actually, that makes you a racist, because they are real people like you and me. they probably think "who cares, they're rich bastards, not real people anyway" about us.
thats a bitch of a question

The thing is, Guinness is something worth advertising.

If they'd have used the bodies of people who have died from poverty as domino thingies, i would have been far more impressed!
cheers
