wow you guys are al like yea man i did 14 mph!!!! man go out buy a dirty old lawnmower get a any engine rip the deck off and put a small pulley like a 1 inch, and on the engine have a 9 inch thats what i did and i got mine to go as fast as the cars on my road and have enough throttle to start passing them onestly its not hard
well you can get them from most farm shops etc. Im not too sure about whats available in amaerica, all i know is they're more readily available there than they are in scotland. I got mine off ebay
If you put a larger pulley on the shaft coming from the engine and a smaller pulley on the transaxle it will haul. You will defiantly need to put some tensioners on it to keep the belt from slipping. Although it makes the tractor faster, it decreases the torque output drastically.

does the belt slip a lot on the 1"?
I was out buying some pulleys but didn't want to go that low because there's less surface for the belt to grip.

howd u config the brake on a stock axle? im curious because im in the progress of making my lowes mower fast
amorgan93 2 years ago
I have a agway just like it- ive used mine to go mudding in a nearby swamp- ive kept it basically stock - plan on using it to mow again eventually.
Originally it had a 10HP teccy when my friend owned it- the motor self destructed and he put a 10HP briggs on it- still has the briggs.
Being a 3 speed its SLOW- i swapped a 4 1/2 motor pulley on and a 6 1/2 trans on- i didnt want tons of speed.
Original motor pulley was 4"- original trans was 10" - its quicker , almost too quick-

Does a small pulley help alot? What is the top speed of that? That thing is nuts.
flanigans55 3 years ago
the pully on the transaxle is about half the size. top speed is 13 mph, i could make it go faster but i still use it to mow lawn
barta1967 3 years ago
@barta1967 half the size of what?
