The only "cool" bus we had when I was a kid, about THIRTY YEARS AGO, was a Blue Bird flat-nose, with the International Harvester engine inside the bus, at the door. Thing was very loud for that reason. It was also a manual tranny. The "Cool" part was, it had an FM radio, and 6 speakers. Rock out on the ride home. Most of the windows didn't open, either.

(Stuck shut). We also had the puke green interiors, not the tan ones you kids have now (got some of those tail end of my H.S. days).

2nd part.... it has the flashing throb lights for the stop sign and the over head lights, it as the built in compartments below the bus, and the compartments above all the seat like a jet airplane, it has a stereo system, with a CD player, and a intercom system, with a Cummings diesel engine, instead of the full bench seats I have the bucket seats with seat belts, all of our new busses are coming in like this, and we only order now Thomas and Blue Birds, we received 10 thomas and 10 Blue Birds.

I am a school bus driver in Arizona, and I have been a driver for 10 years now have driven many style busses, Blue Birds, Carpenters, Wards,Crowns, etc... I have driven one with nose and flat faces, with rear engine and front engines, with tint window and no tint, with air condtition an no air condidtion, but the very best bus on the market right now is a Thomas rear engine, or a Blue Bird rear engine, I am currently driving a 2011 Thomas rear engine, air condition, air door, air seat,

My bus is a lot like this except it's a bit shorter (we can't drive the bigger buses over a certain bridge in our town). There is an emergency exit door on the left side of it as well. I'm not sure what year it is, but, it's pretty new. There's only 53,000 miles on it and I drive at least 100 miles a day (I just started driving a month ago). I already getting spoiled by the air conditioner. hehe (hope I still have one when it gets hot again... I'm in TX).

I was in second or third grade (this would've been during the 97-98 or 98-99 school year) when the bus company for my school district replaced most of its fleet. It still had the manual doors, no AC with the engine in the front. The new buses featured the Big New Thing of the day--escape hatches on the roof. (They could also be popped up and used as air vents.)

Isnt it great to get a brand new school bus? Back in 'o7 we got a brand new Ic Re300 Series from our district Bus #2607. It had all the great things your bus does! And my bus driver let me do anything I wanted! I was basically like the bus aid! I wrote refferals, cleaned the bus, told people what to do! It was pretty fun! Ours had A/C but we had more tinted windows than that but we do live in FL so thats why. Enjoy your new bus even though this vid was added while ago!

I own my own School bus I know that there is NO bus that has a frickin doppler radar on it. I have a 2002 Bluebird - International Iam 17 and still am in highschool and thats my daily vehical. Detroit Diesel 9v71 , Air brakes, modified exaust, Tinted windows, Automatic Trans, seat cap. 73, i put serrius satilite radio in there. etc. aero flash warning lights. I picked it up through Midwest Transit for $8,300. Perfict Condition.

I used to ride on a CE300 that didn't have the intersom, but had tinted windows and a built in A/C and heating unit [none on the rooflinig as seen in this video. I love the ride quality, and my bus driver said it drives more like a car than a bus. I was lucky enough to ride one last day of school also [graduation]. I love the technology the neww ICC's have.

Wimps!! our buses didn't have A/C when I went to school and that was only 12 years ago. Didn't have that radar thing either. They also had manual doors. But when I first started school they were all gas engines too.

I ride the bus everyday. I transfer twice a day. My ride to and from school is over an hour even though I only live about 30 minutes away. I have one driver who a complete and utter jerk. I have one driver who has shit and asshole coming out of her mouth every other word. My bus with the driver who curses like crazy is out of commission and it is only 3 years old (the dumb thing about this bus is that the heater runs on a timer). My school district buys used buses that always have problems.

Currently, my second bus that I ride in the morning is out of commission and we are stuck riding a 14 year old piece of shit that has no heat. My regular bus is a 2004 Internation Fe. At only 3 years old, you would think that it wouldn't have any problems. Wrong. The windows refuse, and the bus is a hightop so we are limited in our route. But, the worst part is the heater doesn't work. The dumb thing about this bus is that the heater runs on a timer. What kind of moron puts a heater on a timer?
