the only reason the rustler lost is because it runs 45mph out of the box unless you upgrade to the 3s lipo 11.1 volt 8000mah battery which then runs 70+mph

Sure, nitros are a lot of fun, but they require a lot of maintenance and tuning to keep them running correctly, fuel is expensive, it's messy, and it will piss the neighboors off. With an electric car you just plug the battery in and go. And not to mention they are MUCH faster. It's all personal preference I suppose.

well i have both 4 nitro and 3 electric love them all and hate them all price of nitro sucks as does prices of good lipos and chargers speed controls then to worry about lipo fires do to bad dis charges or a bash session going wrong then you have just lost you're car/truck and its only good for so many charge cycles then the nitro side of it engines wear out and ya gotta keep em tuned

All run on gas or a form of nitro fuel. something to think about...

FFS, you nitro guys complain about charging...I have 3 batteries and I can run all day continously if I want. When the 3rd battery is empty the 1st is fully charged again and ready to run. It takes about 1 minutes to change battery...how long does it take for you to fill up with gas? Electric has more torque and just as fast, if not faster than nitro cars . Oh, and I can run for 30-40 minutes on one charge with my 5400mah 11.1V lipo in my Rustler VXL . Stop complaining .
How is that even fair? These are for off road so of course a 4 TEC is faster on pavement. These cars are still faster than a 4 TEC on gravel roads or no roads because they can actually move.

well just to settle any argument.. The vxl with a lipo putting out 125ma of solid power will rape alll over a Jato. If you want to use a 6 cell just get a xl-5 to go 40mph.. I switched out my pinion and spur gear on my vxl and it will blow just about anything away, or anything at least close to its size. ELECTRIC BEATS NITRO.... i thought people knew this by now! lol

Maybe with the 3s but then the Vxl prob wouldnt be able to handle aswell..trust me ive been racing my buddies and they do go toe to toe but Jato has much better handling on turns, im assuming cause of its weight! I will be puting some jaco foams pink n purp and then see what happens. I like everthing rc but its sad i have to spend around $5-600 just to beat the nitro version! lol

Nitro or Lipo. Both of them can out run the other depending on the model. Neither is better at performance. As long as your performance has the right sources there really isn't a difference in racing. It really just comes down to the owner and how they want to spend whatever cash they have.

Gas is the only way.. Traxxas fastest model nitro 4-tec 3.3 70mph And fastest rc car run by gas. Electric is for pussies and little bugs like a vxl. And electric cars are cheaper AND when you (electric guys) are going to charge your little batteries then we gas mans are only filling tank again and continuing driving.. Sry for bad eng.

I have a vxl. try putting a 3c lipo in it, way faster then a jato.but i do like to work with nitro, and its loud, but i live in a suburb and i like to keep things quiet and fast

well i have both 4 nitro and 3 electric love them all and hate them all price of nitro sucks as does prices of good lipos and chargers speed controls then to worry about lipo fires do to bad dis charges or a bash session going wrong then you have just lost you're car/truck and its only good for so many charge cycles then the nitro side of it engines wear out and ya gotta keep em tuned

electric is easier to run than nitro but lipo batteries and chargers can cost a small fortune, nitro costs a pretty penny too , the way to go is 1/5th scale pump gas with 2 cycle oil (2 stroke) baja 5t or 5b, how many nascars, top fuel dragsters, monster trucks, and desert trucks in real life run on electric power? All run on gas or a form of nitro fuel. something to think about...

FFS, you nitro guys complain about charging...I have 3 batteries and I can run all day continously if I want. When the 3rd battery is empty the 1st is fully charged again and ready to run. It takes about 1 minutes to change battery...how long does it take for you to fill up with gas? Electric has more torque and just as fast, if not faster than nitro cars . Oh, and I can run for 30-40 minutes on one charge with my 5400mah 11.1V lipo in my Rustler VXL . Stop complaining .

How is that even fair? These are for off road so of course a 4 TEC is faster on pavement. These cars are still faster than a 4 TEC on gravel roads or no roads because they can actually move.

well just to settle any argument.. The vxl with a lipo putting out 125ma of solid power will rape alll over a Jato. If you want to use a 6 cell just get a xl-5 to go 40mph.. I switched out my pinion and spur gear on my vxl and it will blow just about anything away, or anything at least close to its size. ELECTRIC BEATS NITRO.... i thought people knew this by now! lol

wweraw5678 Not true i have a 2s 5000mah lipo on my vxl and still have a hard time keeping up with the jato 3.3. Maybe with the 3s but then the Vxl prob wouldnt be able to handle aswell..trust me ive been racing my buddies and they do go toe to toe but Jato has much better handling on turns, im assuming cause of its weight! I will be puting some jaco foams pink n purp and then see what happens. I like everthing rc but its sad i have to spend around $5-600 just to beat the nitro version! lol

and if you have 5 battery packs then they will last you for a VERY long time

@zipline140 well where I get batterys 5 of them would cost around 200 dollars and I would just get 1 quik charger and charge them all and drive the car the next day and then charge them all again instead of paying over $30 a week for nitro gas. besides, I don't even want to get into an arguement so I'm just gonna forget about this.
