hey ive been in many school productions with POOR members (i hate not having bold :( ) but thats not an excuse- however, iw would like to appologise because i didnt take into acount the fact that this is a recording which would affect the quality of the singing(my bad) the recordings of my singing on here are not quite as i would like them to be lol so i cant be sure about the singing but it still sounded like it could use some work- my advice get a teacher BIG help ;)

I listened to some other recordings on the night of the show (as opposed to dress rehearsal) and they turned out much better, IMO. I might post those sometime.

i love the little shop of horrors! i have seen it 3 times on the west end (the chocolate factory is a great theatre) ive been in 2 productions of it (one pretty good one complete shite) and that seymour was pathetic- he was way to whiney (in the wrong way) he overacted and he was way to young! audrey 2 was also dreadful: the singing lacked tone, clarity and strength (and, for that matter, notes)- it was appalling! the puppetering was dreadful! orin was wooden and dry.. audrey was alright though

Yes, Lydia (Audrey) did a great job. I won't speak to the puppeteer, Orin, or Seymour. (However, I thought that they all did a spectacular job, as well.)

As for Audrey II; I'd love to hear your suggestions on how I can improve my tone, clarity, etc. Any suggestions for improvement on my singing would be appreciated.

BTW, this WAS a high school production, and this WAS in dress rehearsal.

It was alright, compared to others I've seen. I didn't really like the set though or Seymour, he was way too young or lacked the proper experience. Audrey II's head/mouth area wasn't that great--this is considering the fact that it was rehearsal. Thats just my opinion though.

It was a high school production, so all of our cast was probably pretty young. But thanks for your critique!

I realized that it was a high school musical. But Seymour was still a bit off. I liked Audrey II voice (you) though, it's unique and it's not bad, either, it's just different. The mic wasn't working properly the whole the time, was it? THe plant set was good except for the inside of its mouth, and the puppeteering--he opens his mouth up way too much for most of the parts. But like I said, the voice was good.

Well, this was in the dress rehearsal phase. By the time of the show, we had coordinated a slapping sound (via my microphone backstage) with his onstage movements, and it worked quite well. :)

Yeah, I know. I actually work really hard to have good audio quality in my videos; I use an external microphone and sync the video and audio by hand during editing. However, my mom (who recorded the footage) didn't have any of that equipment with her. Also, our auditorium has HORRIBLE acoustics, so that was part of it, too.

Very true, dancfrog! I had a short part at the beginning of the play (as a bum), and after that I removed my stage makeup and changed into jeans and a t-shirt. I could just hang out back stage! :-)
