Dr., when you consult, how do you help the patient decide what kind of hairline to create (widow's peak, round, ect.)? Dang, I so wish I had the money to do this and that you were in Los Angeles or Orange County.

@SleeplessinOC i look at the shape of the head, loss of hair, donor hair quality and density and then draw a proposed line for you. you and i discuss it and then i photograph it to remember it for the day of the procedure. :)

why does she have stitches on the back of her head?? do they cut her back there? or how does the procedure work? is there any videos that show the procedure being done??

the hair is removed from back there and placed along the hairline. sorry no videos on the actual procedure.

How painful is it to have the stiches removed? I'm a little nervous about that.

if my staff or i remove sutures, not painful at al. if someone else does it (as the patient did since she had to go back to her home to do it) it can be a bit more.

well some how it must grow back because men with shorter hair have the same doner area, and it would look wierd them walker around with a missing patch

yes, no scalp pull downs. just tiny grafts.

I have exactly the same issue as the girl in this video. It has been very hard to get someone to tell me how much a procedure like hers cost. I am same age as her, same hair thickness but blonde, need similar amount of grafts. Can you please give me a ball park?

how many inches can you move your hairline down by?

1 to 4. it depends on how much recession, how many grafts you need, how much donor hair you have, etc. with men, age is also a factor. a low hairline would look abnormal on an older male if transplanted (since it is permanent). also with male pattern baldness we need to make sure we keep enough grafts for future loss.
