This is a good sketch but I disagree on the part of being 'openly black', I thought the USA believes in individualism? Everyone is their own individual and has their own character, there may be characteristics associated with a particular race or group but that's different to being binded by these characteristics. Even 'openly gay' I would see that as being camp, but not everyone who is gay is necessarily camp.
