  • Hello fafalafa,

Since the information on the computational abilities of the Right and Left Brain was checked out personally by Jill Boolte Taylor, Ph. D. and she is a neuroanatomist working at Harvard University, I do believe this is true. Also this aligns with my own life experiences. I do not know how your dyslexic tendency fits in with this information. Quite possibly, dyslexia has to do with the way you first began to learn. I am not an expert on dyslexia. Good luck. in finding one

  • If what you say is in fact true then I quite possible use my brain equally im also dyslexic just a few thoughts

  • Welcome Back Videos from Derelix,

In my world view connections with other people are an important part of being human. Numerous studies have indicated that health and longeviity are positively coorelated to the number and quality of your friendships. a key part

I do not agree with you about the brain being just a "tool". The intricate brain, with one quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) connections, determines your personality and every decision you make.

  • Hello Videos from Derelix,

You are misunderstanding my message, big time. If your job and the people that are connected to it are not a positive force in your life, yes, do move on. This is a Left Brain decision, not a Right Brain one. Maybe this decision should be completed by using both sides of your brain. This is a definite possibility.

I think I did not make my message clear. it's a complex video and you have the right to understand it as you wish. I wish you well.

  • Hello Videos from Derelix,

Consequences are the result of whatever happened before, I suppose. i've not ever thought that good consequences were the result of a "job poorly done and poorly hidden." You are bringing that from your own experiences, not mine.

The contact and wilthdrawal part of the video is simply to bring to your attention that all of us go through phases in our connections with others. Contact and withdrawal is not necessarily a means to an end.

  • @ideapaloalto Withdrawal is a means to safety and connection to use of the human race. I don't see connection as a necessary part of the human order.

It's fine that you have different beliefs, but I find yours seem to ring as "comfort knowledge" for the mind. Something to put people at ease. The brain is just a tool. The personality traits defined here come from something more difficult to explain.

  • You make it seem like the right brain is the way to go. Maybe that's just because I'm pretty much living in that side, if what your saying is true.

Live in the moment. Fear is short and manageable. Consequences are the result of a job poorly done and poorly hidden.

Withdrawal. Contact is a means to an end. Get new job, contact business owner. Otherwise you just become connected to people that constantly take from you, things you own or your time.

Your philosophy here is kind of messy.

  • Hello True Dominguez,

I agree that fear is an emotion, and while it does affect your philosophy, fear is not in itself a philosophy. Where did you get the idea that I said it was? Read my words carefully before you respond, please. Precise language gets you precise resutls, whic h are a lot more useful than sloppy ones.

  • bullshit fear is an emotion not a philosophy

  • NOW is the key to opening the magic in your Right Brain. Every time you think NOW! WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?, you are tapping into the magic residing in your very own Right brain. Do it more and watch what happens in your life. More synchonicity. More serendipity. More joy! More health ! It's free. Try it.

  • NOW is what is your major or cardinal intention, NOW is what your main purpose is. Now is not where your body is, now is not what's happening around you, NOW is what you decide you want now.

  • To the Krazy System,

WoW! too bad. Brains are such fun, and so convenient. Especially to make decisions that affect you on all levels. Past, present, and future are all dependent on using our brains. The better we use them, the better our lives. .

  • Aha i have no brain.

  • Rebulun, You are right. both sides of your brain have their strengths and weaknesses. Actually, the Right Brain likes to connect with people, so when you wish to be alone, that is probably your Left Brain kicking in. Fear dominates in your Left Brain so when you feel anxious, you can simply switch brains to feel much, much better. Try it, and tell me if this works for you. When I am in my right brain, I do not experience "fog", but exhileration. You can change the "foggy" feeling. How?

  • well they both have their own strengths and weaknesses and I know that by experience and trying to strengthen both sides its as if ive become aware of two separate people literally. One side is very analytical and a bit of a perfectionist but gets stressed out over nothing and has a violent temper while the other side is very spastic and absent minded and very out of it as if to be in a fog but is very artistic and is like a dreamer that wishes to be left alone.

  • @rebulun That's just creating characters with your mind. A person with brain damage in one side will have those functions replaced by the other side usually. They are not two completely different entities, that is what your mind creates.

I have about 5 people in my head, that doesn't mean they are actually parts of my brain (although that makes sense in some way) they are just characters I created subconsciously to make the complex functions of my mind more logical.

  • @videosfromderelix Actually I see what youre saying however i dont have brain damage that im aware of yet! What youre describing are alter egos i have several of them too but this is different! When i use only one side of my body mostly for like 3 weeks i act one way and the alter egos act one way. When i use the other side everyone changes and acts similar but totally different. I didnt wanna let people know i had alter egos but...theyre here!

  • @rebulun You are not understanding. I'm not saying you have brain damage, just that people that do have it in one side still regain all normal brain function from that side because the working one can do the same stuff.

No using one side of your body will not change your personality, that is something you are doing for yourself. My "alter egos" are just characters I created to represent and organize aspects of my personality. You have two because you created those two, not because you have two

  • @rebulun brains that have different personalities. A brain is just a tool, not a mind in itself IMO. You're consciousness is what creates these things, it simply uses the brain to give it structure and order and in a way, make it real. Not real in a solid sense but I assume these alter egos (if they're anything like mine) are just as real, if not more, in personality and consistency than any other human.

  • Are we learning how to balance our right and left brains or how to have a good love relationship?

    Seriously..

  • @Killuminatyi, I wrote you a reply and then somehow lost it in the giant heaven of the internet. This video was meant to show you how to use a balanced brain to improve your relationships. Certain strategies make sense once you are routinely using both brains. The Left Brain, for instance, likes "time outs" where other people are not intruding on your analytic thoughts. The Right Brain loves connecting with people. If you are using both brains, these rhythms will show up.

  • Hello Aznpanda, No, it is not bad to use the Right Side of your brain. It is not bad to use the Left side either. What's bad is being stuck using only one side. Both sides have their own rewards. If you use both sides, then you will be more successful, happier, and more content. How do you use both sides? We have a free video cast every Wednesday at 11amPT which talks about this. Join us?

  • oh hell no i just noice i use my right side brain.... is that bad?

  • @aznpanda510x

No, it's not bad. It just means you think more visual than people that are "left brained". And no one use just one of their brains. We all use both the right and left, but one is dominant.

  • I'm already a right side brain person. Now I need to learn left. :P

  • I write with my left hand. I kick balls with my right foot.

  • Hello Pensive Thought,

I do not know the answer to that. I vaguely remember that the information from the eye goes to the opposite brain. Left to right and right to left, but since I seem to make a composite picture of whatever I am looking at, this switch over is hard to understand. I do not see one set of data out of one eye and another set of data from the other eye. There is still much of the brain and its processes that is not known. I am still learning. Isn't it fun?

  • Which eye does the right brain work with?

  • Hello Guitar-Kat,

Balance of course is the key. We have two brains. Let's use both of them. You are lucky or smart that you do this. Since many people are frightened of " creativity" for fear this leads to straight jackets or worse, I am constantly urging people to use their Right Brain more. But since you are doing this, we could talk of other matters. There are lots of goodies available in the Right Brain that are still largely unknown. We need these Right Brain skills.

  • I'm a programmer and a designer. I started in print design, but then found myself programming, which is logic based, but I feel that programming for its context can be very creative. :) Solving problems can be left and right brained at the same time, really. I always found it odd how programmers will tell me that they are not creative. They just don't know it.

I think this means I'm messed up, right?

  • I am right brained lol, i need dat left!

  • Congratulations! This is the state all of us could reach. I am working on using my left brain. My left brain does not produce the energy that the Right Brain processing does. I am addicted to Right Brain computing for lots of reasons. Habit? Yes. Satisfaction? Yes. Joy? Yes. Thank you for your comment. We have a free video cast on wedenesdy at 11am. You might enjoy joining us?

  • according to every test ive taken and the description im understanding of left and right brained people, i use both sides equally

  • With 'withdrawal' in that acronym, why didn't she just make it WANC? I'd totally remember that

  • i recently discovered that i'm a right brain user

  • @bernalaso , Congratulations. You are one of the 9%, and chances are you have more joy, peace, bliss, and creativity than most of your friends. These are some of the gifts of the right brain. Would you like to join me in spreading the news about the magic in the Right Brain? Regards, Genie

  • @ideapaloalto I think that im deep into the left brain thinking, which i believe is a good thing to an extent.. But how can i change that? In the video you teach how to balance but how can i greatly increase my right brain of thought??????????

  • @OMGITSDRJESUS

The easiest access to tapping into your Right Brain is to put your attention in your big toe! Not a joke! The idea is that when your attention is inside your body, you are present, in the moment. When you are present, Now, you are using your Right Brain. The difficult part is remembering!! So here's my recommendation. Each time you glance at your watch, remember to also to go into your big toe. It will become a habit. The Right Brain is more fun to use. Enjoy!

  • Sandalinalang, Hi,

Keeping your attention in the present moment is not as easy as it sounds. By focusing your awareness inside your body, you keep your attention in the present. When you are experiencing the present, you are tapping into your Right Brain.

  • hello! what do you mean by awareness NOW? i'm a right brain but i don't fully understand : awareness now

  • @sandalinalang13

By "awareness now", I mean placing your attention in the present moment. If you are remembering the past or planning the future you are not focused on this moment in time. When your attention is in the "Now" you are using your Right Brain. The easiest way to do this is by placing your attention inside your body or watching the objects around you. It's easy. it works to bring up peace and joy at this moment.

  • This video was so informative to me, i used the process she explained and it worked i told my mom about it and she was amazed good job Doctor!

  • Hello Gagai,

There is a pamphlet and some exercises by Braingym that present ideas about cross-over conditioning which would be the answer to your question. This series of exercises are quite effective in integrating the body with the brain. They are also fun to do. I recommend them. You can probably find them on Google.

  • i like that powerpoint

  • A number of negative obsessive behaviors could be corrected, without pain, by simply using the Right Brain in a systematic way. Many obsessive behaviors such as smoking, are the result of anxiety. By switching brains, the anxiety disappears so the trigger for the obsessive behaivor is gone. Now you can choose a pleasurable activity that is healthy, creative and fun. Placing your attention inside your body for 90 seconds allows the urge for smoking to pass. Try it and see for yourself.

  • @ideapaloalto too hard >_< 90 seconds isnt worth my life</3

  • Hello All of You,

If you would like to know more about the insights of your own Right Brain, join us for a seminar next week, JULY 13-15, where we will have fun mingling these skills with NLP, Gestalt, and Linguistics. No lectures, just role plays and discussion. Learning is f un when you engage your Right Brain.

  • Hi Noamfer,

If you are Right Brained, you are one of the 9%, according to Dr. Jill Taylor. 91% of people are Left Brained. You can choose to use either side more by using your awareness and knowledge. If you are aware of being in the present moment, you are in your Right Brain. If you are dwelling in the past or the future you are using your Left Brain. Peace, compassion, creativity are all Right Brain. Logic, analysis, numbers, language are Right Brain. Awareness is key..

  • @ideapaloalto

Has anyOne seen any videOs On right brain working with left side Of the bOdy?

  • I think I'm right brained, and I'm a little bit disappointed. But nobody can change it and we need both sides in humanity.

  • How do you activate the right brain? I feel like I'm too left brained.

  • Hello Wlubo,

I would like to respond to your comment, but i do not understand your message. Genie

  • ha right brain dominant

  • Hello,

If you would like to know more about your own Right Brain and how to use it whenever you wish, you would enjoy "103 Ways to Tap Your Right Brain" which is on our web site.

  • We all use both sides; it is easy to stay balanced if you remain aware of what your own brain is up to! It is easy to favor one side, and this is a mistake. Better to be balanced. I do not find the left side as much fun as the right, but it is definitely useful.

  • I'm extremely right brained, how can I find balance in my case?

  • The best way to switch to your Left Brain is to make a list of what you need to do to implement one of your creative ideas. Going into the past and future to make the list puts you squarely in your Left Brain. Put dates with the action items so that you actually do the tasks. Keep the list handy. Each time you read it this activates your Left Brain. Each time you talk you are drawing on the resources of your Left Brain. Language is left Brain.

  • thaks. . i CAN

  • awesome video! thanks!

  • I'm a snowboarder and i use my right foot to steer which is controlled by the left hemisphere of my brain,, but when i want to change my feeling i go 180 degrees and steer with my left foot .. this always stimulates me and makes me feel a rush of endorphins or something and later on when i play guitar i feel more inclined to compose or improvise in and unorthodox manner.. i always try to apply psychology to my music and athletic pursuits,, and at work i use my left brain..lol.

  • Hi Moe,

It sounds to me that you have figured out how to use both sides of your brain. Congraltulation! Genie

  • Past and future are both Left Brain access. So is planning ahead, adding numbers, and making lists. Fear is definitely Left Brain, but I do not recommend this as a useful emotion. Since most of the goodies seem to be Right Brain, try to teach your partner how to use his very own Right Brain. Makes your day go better. Peace, joy, bliss, connection are all Right Brain attributes. He will thank you for the lessons. Genie

  • I use both sides because i am fear - full and i know i use the right side of the brain because i look at the whose picture, I'm charismatic etc.

  • i took a test i use both sides of my brain

  • Hi JAD,

The best way to be "intelligent" is to use both sides. Both have their own talents, and to function at our best, we need them both. I know I need my Left Brain when I am feeling overwhelmed. Then I maike a list of what needs to be done and immediately feel better. Genie

  • Hello All,

The best laid plans....... " The 103 Ways to Tap Your Right Brain" is completed but is not up on the web site yet. Few glitches. I will post info about it here shortly. Thanks for your Interest. Genie

  • so if im left handed dose that mean i use my right side of my brain more?

  • Hello JAD.

Not necessarily. Handedness does not always or even usually coorelate to which side of the brain you use the most. If you lose track of time a lot, really like photography, and are happy most of the time, then you are using your Right Brain. If you work with numbers, make a lot of lists, and are depressed, you are using your Left Brain more than your Right. Switch, now! Genie

  • well i do lose track of time alot and im very music oriented so i think i might have to use the left side of my brain more

  • Hello Gefftom,

By wednesday, i will have a short e book with 102 ways to activate the Right Brain. The price will be $4.95 and you charge it on Google. If you order the e book, when we print it in a real book (not too long) , we'll send you a free copy.

  • hey IDEAPALOALTO HOW DO YOU STRENTHEN THE RIGHT BRAIN LET ME KNOW! THANKS.

  • Are predominantly right brained people more apt to become depressed during periods of not dealing with the processes of the right brain. As in with the daily duties of dealing with people on a logical level, or taking care of bills, making tasks to complete, writing out goals? And since this can create anxiety, which would be a left brain effect from the cause of not dealing with everyday life due to being stuck in the right brain hemishphere that makes sense. Rt brainers need discipline? Yes?

  • Hello Centered Cedrik,

Of course, people are fear-full when they spend time in their Left Brain. The Left Brain is designed to look for danger, so it does, even when none exists. The best way to handle this is to 1. notice fear 2. know you are using mostly Left Brain processes 3. switch to the Right Brain by paying attention to objects around you or body sensations (90 seconds if the fear is bad) then go back to where you left off. using both brains is optimum. What's your e mail?

  • what if we need to activate the left brain???

  • The Left Brain is simple to activate...just make a list of what you need to accomplish today. When you make a list, you prioritize (past future) you use words (Language is left brain) and there you are in your left brain or you can add up how much money you have in your account. Numbers are left brain.

  • fuck the left brain, u strenghthen that by studying maths and most school subjects that dont involve much imagination

  • I enjoyed this very much so and I hope to be able to obtain a copy of your new book "Instant Charisma Using your Right Brain".

I am highly interested in tapping into my Right Brain in social situations, especially with new people. I am constantly dating and I think that being in the Right Brain is huge when it comes down to that.

Can you recommend a book or two that you think will help me connect with my Right brain when applying it to meeting people at clubs, bars, coffee shops etc.....??

  • i will try to excercise ....to do that :) , i think is interesting

  • Remember when you are using language you are using your Left Brain. Since we are a talking culture, that means most of us use our left brain a lot. Admiration of logic and analysis nudges us toward left brain use. While much of education does encourage Left Brain processing, lyou can change this at any moment. All you need to do is become aware that peace, bliss, love, connection, and creativity are rampant in the Rlight Brain processing. Just say "Now" and look around you.

  • i didn't notice alot of people are mostly left brainers since i've seen a lot more people that don't really go to college or university

  • Thank you for your comment. When you translate your moment to moment perceptions into words, you are using your Left Brain. When you think of past events or future events you have moved from Rlight Brain to Left. As for your partner, Left Brain is where most people hang out, so s/he is joining the crowd. To activate the Right Brain, simply move your consciousness to the now, the present moment. Notice the objects, people and sounds around you NOW! Join us on Wednesday at noon PT for more.

  • I really enjoyed this and will share this with my partner who since his stroke is stuck in the left side of his brain. I am stuck in the rightside I think well at least in the tests I can only see the rightside view and can't for the life of me see the left one. What should I do to use my left side more?
