  • THIS IS ZEPIC!!!

  • yeah, whereas ccr "borrowed" riffs from howling wolf's smokestack lightning in that song. It's kind of a blues tradition...

  • ooo susie q

  • well I prefer "borrowed" a riff

  • Susie Q to be exact

  • stole a rift from CCR the begining

  • The more I listen to Zep shows from 1968-1970, the more I realize how stupid I was in thinking Def Leppard was even remotely cool in 1986.

  • @xptwillie

Steve Clark really was cool, and they were cool before 1987 when they were a metal band not a pop band.

  • fuckin zep rules im18 years old so many kids love nd know how good zep is.... yet so many kids are forced to listen to tht bullshit rap shit tht is controlled by lucifer.... research the new world order ppl plz its my generation tht has to deal with this......fucking love zep tho lol

  • what the hell jimmy is in a time warp near the end

  • sweet. Love the obvious blues influences...

  • I appreciate that people can have a wide variety of musical tastes, but I don't know how anyone can listen to this and not think Zeppelin was the greatest thing they'd ever heard. No one will ever get close to this.

  • it sounds like green river at :36

  • @mmarek1969 Nice catch, was racking my brain on what that sounded like till i read the post.

  • This just made my day. Been on the planet 44 years,...been listening to the mighty Zep, my all time favourite band, for 35 of those years. And now I get to live the glory of that moment 40 years later. Amazing. Makes me feel good to be alive.

  • nothin better in the world!!

  • This is like the best version of How Many More Times!

  • Thank god for the bootleggers! Great stuff. glad we get to hear such rare stuff. Thanks tomyman. I give my left arm for a time machine to be there with a digital camcorder and tape deck.

  • @grandDRJ Not so, he sings just fine then screws it up with stupid adlibs. He has problems talking inbetween songs as well. Shut it Plant! J Tull says the same thing. Plant is so over bloated and overated live. In the studio he was so much better. Sing it straight, the finger nails on the chalkboard are just to much. And he got chicks? Oh how I bet the women who he crawled inside regreted it.

  • @TheSongsparrow wtf are you saying.. plant is alive nad kickin it hard.......... at this performance that is..... both page and plant are on point......

  • If only Robert Plant would only sing it straight for once. His adlibs are always like finger nails on a chalkboard. Zeps weakest link for sure.

  • @TheSongsparrow I can say with full confidence that you are the only person who has that opinion. The "Plantations" are part of the zeppelin appeal

  • @TheSongsparrow I have heard him sing hardcore in person. His little fillers are the essential link to Led Zeppelin. I have heard bands sound Zeppelin-ish, but have a modern sounding singer. Ruined the whole sound. Roberts voice was the best thing to happen to Led Zeppelin next to all four of those guys lol. But, I do admire you have an opinion and are not afraid to voice it like most. So dont take this as like im slapping your opinion lol

  • awesome...Jimmy plays some smokestack lightning in the intro in honor of Howlin wolf.

  • Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Amen!

  • OMG!!!!!! The GREATEST rock band,,, EVER!!!!!!!

  • the who aint got shiiiiet on led zep....

  • @theglz123 , That's right, & it's NOT the Rolling Stones!

  • YES YES YES!!!! Finally I found this song. I have heard this on the radio many times and just could not get the name. Aaah yeah, love this song. :-D

  • that was great thanks!!

  • Led Zep, Deep Purple & Black Sabbath, best bands of 70's!!

  • it is suzie q. Susie Q was out before this concert

  • you're right. Also they (especially Plant) were big fans of John Fogerty

  • Suzie Q wasn't made by CCR y'know...

  • I never said it was. I was agreeing with meathead612.

  • @LinkBulletBill

"Susie Q" (song), a 1956 song by Dale Hawkins, covered by Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones, The Namelosers, Uncle Tupelo and Gene Summers

  • Well, duh, I already knew that since... 1 year ago!

Except never heard the Namelosers, Uncle Tupelo and Gene Summers...

One minute you just copied this from wikipedia?

    Shows me your knowledge... lol

    it's okay... it's all fine...

  • @LinkBulletBill

jepp, but i heard also not from namlosers, but Uncle Tupelo...mmmmh

  • @LinkBulletBill

knowledge...it`s easyer for me make a copy as write...i have to work much

  • I was joking about that!

    No, I was serious!... lol

    it's okay... it's all fine...

  • Comment removed

  • but susie was later

  • Susie Q was made in 1956...

    And this is when 1970?

    So hmmm...

  • sounds like Susie Q. listen.

  • 2:10 is so awesome by Bonham and oh ya the way robert sings at times sounds SO MUCH like Jack White especially when Plant is saying "Everybody" at around 3:25 . It's crazy at times how much Jack White sounds like Robert in this specific bootleg. Again at 5:50 WOW "try to love another man too" sounds EXACTLY like Jack White it's completely insane. Great version of HMMT by the way.

  • Comment removed

  • @FrequentlyFried ISN'T IT? THEY SOUND SO MUCH ALIKE, FUCK. I love both of them! Sometimes when listening to In My Time of Dying, I could swear it's Jack White on the vocals

  • @FrequentlyFried it is funny the resemblence huh? Jack White has stated that his least favorite member of zeppelin was Plant. However, they were both inspired by bluesmen so it roots much deeper than we can imagine.

  • 5 stars!!!

  • Poor Jonesy! He got the less cheers...

  • lol an underated musician he was

  • the best band ever

  • I dig Jimmy's throwing in of the "Suzie Q" riff at the beginning.

  • And when they debut the critics said they suck!

Saw them live many a time. great live act. when page pulled out that violin bow . what a sound.Their first album my favorite. More blues than rock to me. Love it.

  • im breathless. . . . if only their studio recordings were like this haha who am i to tell zep what they should have done!!! amazing.

  • yes i agree they are gods

  • It is.

  • Sounded like Susie Q in the begining

  • 6:30 jajajaja

  • How quaint! nutty, cool and

FABULOUS.... Thanks for the introduction, Perc.

Give that guitar player a hand.

  • WOW!

  • zeppelin are gods...

  • one word:

    FuckinAmazing

  • Thats two words.

  • we want you to get FREAKY!

  • haha, love the susie Q

  • thanks

  • Love this.

  • this is worth millions!

  • Starting at 30 seconds, is that a CCR riff hes playing around with?

  • Yes it is - the song 'Suzy Q'.

  • thought so

  • Susie Q

    And Susie Q 2

It was cut in half (the second piece is one massive solo)

  • Jimmy page guitar!!!! rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love that part!

best band ever. like no other.

  • yes, i also like the one of BBC Disc 2.

yes, everyone would have rushed the stage SAME as RAH performance

  • mothership DVD release in 2007 have another version of How many more time.

  • Learn how to write proper English you fuckin retard. You probably speak the way you write.

  • someone of you guys, know if have a video of 'how many more times', with exception of lost performances? thanks

  • Wow-pure talent-how I wish I'd been there-not

easy songs to play or sing for a concert.

ROCK ON LED ZEP-come tour with Robert please!

  • GodDAMN....

  • i like the BBC grove the best, the tempo was a bit slower & it just grooved like a tribal beat, but i love the extended version they did i believe the same year as this 1970 at royal albert hall. at the BBc ya gotta love Jimmys Lab coat and it was a magical time with the band just exploding onto the scene as the subdued crowd watched in awe, if it were in the states, everyone would have rushed the stage and ruined this great historic performance.

  • The pants Robert and Jimmy are wearing are Fucking Incredible and Robert's jacket. You Fucks out there that think you're Rock Stars, THESE GUYS ARE THE REAL ROCK STARS.

  • Fuck you cocksucker. The comment was a positive one. You Ebonic Writing waste of space piece of shit.

  • haha

  • jonesy is a very song writer. to sir with love is came from him. he always do his position. robert love him very much kind man

  • Spontaneous raw and inspired early Zeppelin. Nobody has ever touched Zeppelin in their prime. Unprecedented talent in a rock band.

  • Couldn't have said it better. Cheers.

  • @sansured so true..... fuckin page is feelin it......

  • PAGE was fucking out of this world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention Bonzo crazy drumming and Robert´s insane voice range, not to forget Jonesy and the simple fact that he always had its line together to what the band did.

  • scratch tht, they played in wallingford too in 69 august 17th

    can anyone find that too?

  • also, does anyone out there have the august 15 1970 new haven show?

its the only time they played in CT that i know of

  • march 7th, at the casino

awsome, where do you find this stuff?!

  • one of my favorite shows. heartbreaker is exceptional!

  • love pages solos you can always hear bits of other songs in there classic stuff i love it i hope one day to play like that or somewhat close to it damn i wish there was video so i could see what hes doing i heard bits from heart breaker in there lol his solos are all kind of similar.....basically amazing

  • well shit this has more grooves than the royal albert hall. friggen amazing

  • dethcow777 nobody gives a fuck if your 13 or 76 ,

  • Just like nobody cares about your reply, right?

  • i heard they had this show professionally shot? any thruth to that?

i think i heard the same thing about blueberry hill in september of this year

  • where did u hear this?

  • Page is[was],so fucking good,it is almost scary. I have seen Zepp twice,1973,and 1977.They are amazing.4 hours nonstop kickass rock and roll.Page never misses a note!!!One of the very best ever, for sure!!!P.S.,R.I.P. Bonzo.

  • Hey anywheres i can get this bootleg? this early days stuff is AMAZING, id love to have the whole concert, btw stairway is overrated, i love them in part 2-3 in this, hoq they do a jhonny hooker song, btw im 13

  • dethcow777 why does it matter that your 13 lol im 13 too, does that do anything?

  • so your 13 big deal

  • y mark him down? hes 13, and its rare tht kids tht young like zeppelin jeeze, lay off peoples

  • Hard to believe this is coming up on 40 years ago. Truly the greatest band ever. And the early years were the best of the best.

  • I have never heard this version. How fucking great is this? Maybe their most underrated song of all time and probably my favorite LED ZEP tune. Man, does this fucking smoke. I would love to see a video of this performance. God DAMN does Jimmy rock along with the other guys. I agree, Zep from 69-71 is the GREATEST performer of ALL TIME. No other band can touch these guys. Pure genius.

  • couldn't agree with you more

  • That's like comparing Mozart with Jimmy Smith. Talk sense, man!

  • Hall and Oates... go fuck yourself! Lol. Hall and Oates are talentless douchebags!

  • ummm lets see what Led Zeppelin has.....hmmmm'

    Greatest

    Guitarist

    Vocalist

    Bassist/Organ/Mandolin/

    Drummer

    OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

  • Hahaha. Dumbest comment ever.

  • "Hall and Oates, circa 77-81, puts Led Zeppelin to shame" HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Wow. Just Wow. I cannot imagine a state more directly inverse to the truth. Perhaps you also think that North Korea is a democracy, that infants give birth to parents, and that fire extinguishers ought to be filled with gasoline. Thank you, friend. If I don't suffer a fatal annuerism from this fit of laughter, you'll have given me the best chuckle I've enjoyed in ages.

  • hahaha! Reread my statement and see if you can spot the irony and tongue-in-cheekiness of the comment you stupid cocksucker.

  • I can't HEAR you, asshat -I can only read your text. Incidentally, I have an alternate screen name (alwaysright10000) that, for the sake of amusement, I use exclusively to make the most invidiously bone-headed comments I can think of; and it is extremely rare for anyone to catch on that "alawaysright"'s comments are intentionally moronic.

  • Because the sarcasm is so easily picked up when you have to read it. Get a clue

  • Well, someone comparing Led Zeppelin to fucking Hall and Oates really shouldn't be something you need a sarcasm map drawn for. I'll start putting a ;) next to stuff like all the 14 year-olds do so retards can figure it out.

  • You're just an idiot with stupid comments.

  • yeah polymath your a dumbass

  • Why do you conclude that I'm a dumbass? Is it because I did not assume that nativo's comment was in jest? That certainly makes sense; youtube's comment boards are obviously replete with with erudite and insightful observations, and so I should surely have known that nativo's remark could not possibly be in earnest. Moreover it cannot be denied that my lucid prose and vacuous distinction between "your" and "you're" belie my stupidity a well.

Would that I were as astute and articulate as you.

  • You wouldn't happen to be Hall or Oates, would you? Haaaaa, Dipshit.

  • I'm...Oates

  • I just took a look at one of your videos, and it is clear that you're not John Oates....you're Dennis Franz! Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to poke fun at you (or Dennis Franz, for that matter) but the resemblance is uncanny. Anyone who happens to read this, take a look at this guy's videos and click "thumbs up" if you agree.

  • He's .........not the guy in the video, just the commentator. But the videos are sweet. I especially liked the Seed Bearers vid.

  • You fucking said it, iuz -spot on!

  • Absolutely Amazing!!!! this is why I profess that LED ZEPPELIN ARE the best group EVER!!!

NO one can beat them! I'm from Liverpool and i can say, as much of a phenomenom as they were the Beatles drink Zeppelin's piss!

  • holy shit, is jimmy playing "susie Q" near the beginning?

  • Sounds like it! Good catch there aaakkk!!

  • Lol i just left a comment saying the same thing, then saw you beat me to it!

  • when Plant introduces the band Page gets the best response by far.

  • notice how every one cheered extra loud for bonzo. if you ook at the track list... you can see they just played moby dick...

  • the way Zeppelin "should" sound :)

nothing beats their days from '69 to '71.

  • Steve Tyler was once quoted" Led Zeppelin I saw at the Boston tea party in '69 and my fuckin' jaw dropped to the floor" I can see why, mine would have fallen off

  • My favorite version was the black and white TV performance on the DVD. But now it's definately this version!

  • 04-27-69

  • put Zeppelin during this period up against any other band in the history of rock playing at its best and Zeppelin would have destroyed them

  • Absolutely!

  • My mind has just been raped.

    and it feels AWESOME!!!

  • CANNOT get over bonzos roll into the riff....CANNOT.

  • Supposedly Pagey has pro-shot vid of this show...

  • good god

  • wow this is just fucking tidy like innit

  • robert plant voice is just awesome.

  • can you please put up the rest of the show

  • the truest heavy metal

  • incredible.... ohhhh THAT SOLO! I LOVE IT!

  • when can you add since i've been loving you?

  • !!!!!awesome!!!!!

  • my god!! no problem. and heartbreaker if it's possible

ok I'll upload SIBLY live in montreux, soon..

    I'm moving so I'm a little busy atm ;)

  • yeah!!!!! tomyman, you are my idol. do you have immigrant song and since i've been loving you?

  • led zeppelin didn't perform IS in early 1970 (remmember that LZ3 was released in oct 70)... i could post a soundboarded recording of IS and SIBLY performed in 72 if u want... it's from an unoffcial live album called how the west was won
