So nice to see one of these casual You Tube creations be a fantastic pianist. How insufferable it is to see every nerd out there trying to play monstrous music like this and stinking up the place. It's just too bad Paul Briggs had such a treacherous ordeal since losing his two epics to Frederic Chopin the 5th.
That was insane. Very fine playing. In a few parts, it sounded a bit hectic or rushed, but you held it together and the accuracy is great! Bravo. This is a tremendously difficult transcription.
Loved it! The occasional technical problems didn't get in the way of the amazingly clear musical line. Lots of spirit in your playing. Thanks for posting.
Great playing, I'm no expert,I just happened to see you here on youtube. My name is Chris Attwood, I'm a trombonist. I guess we must be related somehow given the spelling of our last names. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations Koji! That piece is a lot of fun and very challenging. I've fiddled around with it but never learnt it completely. I wonder if you ever performed it? There are some excellent duets of the 4th, 5th and 6th symphonies transcribed by Taneyev and Tchaikovsky. All the best.
Strange comment for a person who is probably obsessed by perfection, especially personified in a fellow named Gould, whose perfection he will never reach, of course. Try to put some sarcasm in your own playing, perhaps it will make it less boring to listen to...
Obviously you didn't get my point about how silly it is of you to compare somebody's personal recording submitted on YouTube to that of a world-class musician like Berman.
Oh, and no hard feelings for those rather untrue personal insults you felt necessary to resort your thoughtless mind to.
Dear mr. Attwood, a very good attempt. Of course you know the legendary Lazar Berman-performance of this piece. When it doesn't work out quite well, you can always blame it on the bad action of the piano.
Absolutely amazing! I wonder if I'll ever be able to play like that! One of my favourites - i have Volodos playing it and you are on the same level!!!
That is one of my all-time favorite pieces of music but this is the first time I've heard a piano transciption of it. An outstanding performance! Thanks for sharing!
hmmmm, everybody is doing classical, but you should try going a different route once in a while. A lot of videogames are producing very nice piano music. For example final fantasy X-2 has extremely nice piano music, and so does xenogears and final fantasy 3.
Hmmm, everybody is doing crappy, stupid pop/game music nowadays. But you should try to shut your trap, if you don't like this video don't post ur stupid petite comment, you little single-membrane neuron is not comprehensive enough to understand Feinberg, Tch or any other classical music. Go back to your Genesis and modded PS2, and try to keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.
but i guess when u pozt tiz online, you attract ignoramous like dat...
Tiz inevitable....
Dere are literally thousands of hundreds of stupid idiot who record and video tape their half-ass so called piano-recording of the pop/game music and post it on youtube.
I guess he stumble upon something so rare and exquistie by searching the tag 'piano', that his tiny little brain has no idea how to comphrend and fathom the greatness of this video.

i believe this is a Arcadi Volodos transcription, but either way great playing nice post

... No, it's Feinberg's... ergo the "Tchaikovsky-Feinberg" in the title.
ryguillian 3 years ago
Volodos also recorded this transcription by Samuil Feinberg as correctly pointed out previously and in the title.

I agree, but it's pointless consistantly throwing out an unattainable standard like a world-class musician.
jfeucht82 5 years ago
Yes, why the heck aren't you playing as well as Lazar Berman? You know we only expect perfection from a piano recording submitted on YouTube!
Oh, that's sarcasm, just in case you didn't get it.

Does your sostenuto pedal work on that grand? You can achieive some very orchestral sounding moments if it does.

This is Koji Attwood, a graduate from Julliard music school with Ph.D in piano performance. He is indeed American.
